Man! Those In The News segments REALLY take me back as much as any other part of this montage. The sound of Christopher Glenn's voice and that beep-boop 'music' has been engraved in my memory for 50+ years.
What's interesting about watching those now is that "then vs. now" perspective. I saw one on another Mone Media video where the segment was dealing with climate change involving wildfires in the Florida Everglades... 39 years later. 😬😬😬

USA Network re-aired Fat Albert when I was in junior high (1989-90). Vaguely remembered it during it's original run (a very little kid at the time). But rewatching the episodes as an older kid was crazy. Lou (Scheimer) NEVER sugercoated topics (especially on Fat Albert but also on some of Filmation's other 80s gems). How he managed to get away with some of the stuff they aired was beyond groundbreaking. They even once did an episode centered around the "Scared Straight" program from that era (given the regulations of the era, Bill Cosby, who usually bookended or added side-commentary to that week's episode, had to do a disclaimer before starting it).
