Many foods we eat can affect mental health through inflammation or allergies and cause a fight or flight reaction themselves. This includes processed foods, chemicals, caffeine, gluten, dairy, and refined sugar. We can also make sure to include plenty of fresh raw fruits, vegetables, minerals and healthy fats to our diet to keep our nervous systems functioning optimally.
It's also important to avoid PUFA's (polyunsaturated fatty acids) in the diet. They are highly inflammatory and are harmful to the liver, brain and stress response. Many olive oils are cut with seed oils (PUFA's) without disclosing it on the bottle.
The purest brand I've found is Papa Vince Extra Virgin Olive Oil. It's special because it is 100% unblended unrefined and unfiltered olive oil that is also lab tested to ensure no pesticides, insecticides or herbicides. To get 10% off your first order of Papa Vince olive oil, visit thesomaticpt.com/papavince and use the code SOMATIC at checkout.

Thank you for this video. It just validated what I was feeling and gave me the motivation to fully stop caffeine and gluten. Every time I eat gluten I start crying all day the next day. Caffeine gives me the feeling of almost having a panic attack but I feel addicted to them both!

I get anxiety symptoms after eating carbs, fat and sugar also after certain medications like chondrotin and glucosamine. Do I need to go for an allergy test.
Anxiety is only induced by food otherwise I have no issue of anxiety

I would check your blood sugar and have your doctor check for allergies as well as your adrenal function. They can go into fight or flight with allergies and not making enough epinephrine. Also, look into histamine reactions.

Probably less so than refined sugar, but I imagine it could especially if there are parasites present, weak adrenals, or blood sugar issues in general.

Doesn’t sugar fuel the liver’s 500 functions. This promoting less stress? I think it does.

Oh, I meant avoiding refined sugar, since it's inflammatory and adds no nutritional value. Natural sugars from fruits, veggies, and other whole carb foods are important for the body. Thanks for asking so it can be clarified!

Good question and I completely understand! I think avoiding aspartame and caffeine drinks could potentially save money, but you're right that the other items can sometimes be more expensive.
I would suggest substituting gluten for other grains, such as rice, bought in bulk. Some people have trouble with any grains though. Also, buying the produce that's in season and on sale can save money too.
Also, experimenting with removing one of these from the diet at a time can help too because maybe it's just one food that could be bothering someone the most and then that's the change they can make that's most effective for them financially.
Good luck exploring this and I hope it helps!!!
      Nina
