A 7-minute video to discuss how we should feed our Vagus Nerve. It is like the roots of a tree. The roots connect to the stomach and feed the nutrients to the brain via the superhighway known as the Vagus Nerve.
Living in a prolonged state of Fight-Flight will lead to a dysregulated nervous system. Often known as low vagal tone, this can lead to feeling anxious, stressed, fearful, vulnerable, worrying and in a constant state of uncertainty and questioning yourself and being overly concerned by the opinions of others. It does not have to be like this. You have an incredible chemical factory within your body that can help balance your nervous system and restore harmony to your mind and body.
You are not alone, and millions of people worldwide feel like you. I was a dynamic CEO and founder of multiple investment firms. During a critically important meeting in 2014, I had a panic attack. Although my nervous system was shutting down, I pushed through the session and kept it quiet. Psychological Safety could not have been further from my mind. I turned to psychology, philosophy, neuroscience and Eastern practices. The last six years have been in research and academia.
I have a huge amount of free content on RUclips that I invite you to try out. Including multiple guided practices.
I have an excellent 21-day course that you can access at www.justincaffrey.com. The course was $389, and we have discounted it to $27 so everyone can access it! If you would like to know more about me, you can email me at justin@yourbottomline.com

Feels to me like my vagus nerve is my feeling mind. Even when my thinking mind doesn’t really mind something , my vagus nerve sure feels it. It’s like it’s an entity running completely on its own in me, heart palpitations and all. Interesting to need to feed the feeling mind, to nourish it with physical food just like every other part of the body. Fascinating.

I really appreciate you helping folks for free and being aware that help can be beyond one's budget... but PLEASE say more about the specifics of the supplements - eg not just "vitamin D" - lots of people don't know if that would be D2 or D3, or that it's recommended to take K2 as well, in a certain proportion.. and how much to take daily, and when ~ there is so much conflicting information. And Calcium can be in form of carbonate ie chalk. And there are about 8 (?) types of Magnesium.. And water is not just water - what about filtration? And I've been told a lot of probiotics are not what they say, especially by the time they are actually consumed and may or may not get to the gut... Sauerkraut.. Kombucha.. Kefir... lots to learn.. 🙏

It is very sad how the majority of processed foods and products that are marketed to society take more life and nutrition than they could ever give. People get trapped and stuck trying to save money by reducing their health and the health of their families.

@Justin Caffrey : I think I have a pinched Vagus nerve, how can I fix this naturopathically with diet, etc? I feel a weird version of a tiny bit of dizziness, sometimes muscle weakness, I'd rather not use supplements. I had a scare with 1 a couple years ago. I need natural foods...

Eat garlic, cilantro, lots of greens like broccoli sprouts and kale. Vagus nerve by my understanding, comes from the microbes on your gut. So stay away from processed foods that damage your liver, kidney, spleen etc

    Liver, steak, lamb, bone broth
You need these fats to repair any damage to myelin, the insulating sheet of your nerves. Go low carb, high good day for two weeks. Cut out sugars , you'll see a difference

Thanks Timmy. That’s not the case. They bring general health benefits, but my recovery was down to removing all meats and only eating a plant-based diet. The key is avoiding processed foods. If eating meat, consume organic meat. You need to avoid all preservatives and antibiotics that are found in non-organic meat.

I cut out liver, but still experiencing issues so I plan on removing grass fed beef and maybe adding organic beef broth to heal my gut. But this video confirms that I need to cut out the meat which I only recently added for anemia. Thanks!

Some good general ideas here. I guess I was hoping for some more specific "dysfunctions" of the Vagus nerve, since I believe I suffer from a dysfunctional Vagus nerve. I have developed severe anxiety around pooping! Yes! For about 2-3 hours before I have a bowel movement I get severe heart palpitations, then depending on whether it was a solid stood or loose stool will determine how the palpitations linger. When my bowels are active and spastic, then palpitations are strong and relentless! It is pretty much debilitating now and quite worrisome. I can't seem to find any Dr. who wants to help with the issue, but yet it's getting to the point where I won't be able to work much longer. I wish someone had some good info on what exactly is going on here with this! Very frustrating.....
    ***** Edit UPDATE ******
So, nobody could have figured this out! My Dr. found out only after I had a CT scan for a mini stroke. Turns out I had a PFO! That is a “Patent Foramen Ovale”. So a PFO closure procedure was done and POOF, all heart palpitations gone!!! So those who have similar symptoms, go get this checked out! About 2% of the population has a PFO, so it’s more common than you might think. Best Wishes & good health!

I have a lot of anxiety and heart palpitations and afib until I saw her which was about two years ago and now I feel much better. She is with sunlight natural. She does all kinds of tests to find out what's going on with your body and then will prescribe natural products to help the problem. I also started taking magnesium glycinate and that has really helped my heart also. Hope this information helps you. Don't give up hope. The Magnesium I take is by doctors best.
