      Right? A life sentence for a lie is harsh - but when that "little lie" can have devastating effects (because of the lie being in court to determine a person's innocence/ guilt) ;
      Like taking away an innocent person's freedom (for life)/ keep them from having a successful career after serving a wrongful conviction sentence/ destroy their marriage and break up their family in general/ or even put an innocent person on death row.....
      So all things considered .... when a cop lies to knowingly convict an innocent person.... that cop is getting off lightly with a life sentence (especially considering its likely not just a single occurrence but a habitual occurrence by officers who do that - with varying degrees of severity of punishments those wrongfully convicted .... most of which never are able to fully recover from the effects of the wrongful conviction)...

      I wish other judges could take note of HOW he apologized. He said, "I'm so sorry this happened to you." It is okay to say sorry, even if you weren't personally responsible. I think some judges might be hesitant to do what this judge did, due to being worried that it might appear as though it WAS their fault, even in the slightest way.
      But if they could use those words, "I'm sorry this happened to you" which is a perfectly good way for them to show that they care, without worrying they will look bad. Judges are people too. If I was a judge, I would feel so bad for that man and simultaneously feel awful when thinking that someone (even that man himself) might even have the smallest perception that I could've done such a thing to him.

The only time they don't is when the sh!t hits the fan. I'm willing to bet when you look at this officer he had issues but they were ignored. Unless there is an independent investigation about this judge (or the judge that presided over the case) saying they were not at fault...this judge gets no credit. When somebody in a true position of power- like judge or government official- not only apologizes on behalf of the corrupt, but shows true compassion & also offers any way that he can help, it gives me hope that one day our Justice System will eventually work as intended.

      But it never will because money rules the world. Within the system theres so much corruption..the only solution is destruction.

    That judge is very admirable. It touches my heart that there are actually good people in the judicial system! I had completely lost faith until I saw this video.

    these are people that need to be in higher positions, ones that can apologize when they know they were wrong.
