That was the cops first mistake. Second, did the cops never test his hands for gun residue? And third, if his statement claimed that it was him and his friends, how come the cops never interviewed those friends or even questioned him more about the friends? This whole case makes me so angry with the crappy police work or lack there of.

      English, do you speak it?

    • @bobbertbobby3975

      the simple answer?
      cause they knew that boy was innocent...and they didnt care about bothering to keep up the charade of looking for anyone else. They got what they felt they needed...someone to put in a cell for that particular crime. And to be honest..I dont believe they did it cause they hated the young man...or wanted to hurt a black man or boy or whatver you wanna say. Thats what makes it even more terrible. The only reason it was a young black man...is because its easiest to railroad black ppl in this country. over the course of hundreds of years the system has made it easy. back when they were no more than livestock...it made it easy...when they got their emancipation....but were still only 3/5ths of a person the system made it easy. When the government walked away from any and all enforcment of rights in the south...that was the system making it easy. Even as the Civil rights act passed....the system showed it was still easy. Afterall all those monuments that sprung up on so many southern courthouse lawns...were showing the proof of it to the black citizens of this country. even when the firsy black president was elected...the system still showed how easy it was to keep them down...afterall what happened to the Fox news network even when they demonized Obama. They grew more powerful. And to this day....all they have to do is look to washington DC to see a perfect example of the system showing them they are still not equal. The man who almost single handedly lead the charge to "reveal" the Kenyan citizenship of Obama...the man who said that even if Obama went to harvard he demands to see his grades cause there is no way..he was smart enough to graduate from there legitimatly. had to be a fix..afterall...balck people just arent that smart. Not like those of us who are the white elite privilaged few. And there...sitting at 1600 penselvania ave...what was the judgment of the system on Donald Trump? A man who said he didnt care if DNA proved the "central park five" were innocent they shouldnt be released casue he was sure "They did something" Surely the great and all powerful system, would pass terrible horrible judgment upon such a man. Oh..no..thats right the system rewarded that man with the position of the most powerful man on earth. Hmmm...funny, I just cant see why black men in this country wouldnt trust the system that rewards that man..men like that man with wealth and power. I just dont geet why they wouldnt have the same blind faith I have in the system to look out for them...and have their best interests in mind.
      Of course im being sarcastic....
      The systems and Power structures that are in place all over America cater to men like those...look out for men like those. Im not saying there arent any white ppl who suffer at the hands of those systems...but when they do...its usualy because of a case of slipping thru the cracks..or its class issue. cause thats one thing that seems to be more of a great equalizer than anything...thats poverty. Ive experianced it..and I used to say the very things...Well if whites get all the advanatges and have all this privilage..why do I have so much shit thats happened to me? And I can follow it back..to being poor, and having a so called "attitude" with authority. cause just standing up for my rights...not allowing myself to be abused without protest...basic things caused me to feel the wrath of those "bad apples" in the police force. But then I started to realize something..once I allowed myself to see them. The difference is...if I go home...put on that shirt I wear when I do interviews...and wear those nice khaki pants i got. Get my hair trimmed up and my goetee nice and clean looking. Then at the very least..I can pass thru any area I want. I can walk the mall freely and not be followed. I can goto the gated community across town and walk door to door..when confronted I just hand a phamplet saying something about Jesus and Im good. Now..does anyone think I could do that if I were a black man my age. even if I were dressed the same, hell dressed better suit jacket and tie. Nope. thats systemic racism. Its not that one neighbor that see you out there and gets scared...its not the 911 operator that hears young black male and forgets to pass on how the caller said they didnt think he was doing anything illegal...just that it seems "odd" its not even the cop..who shows up with sirens and lights jumps out gun drawn and screaming commands half coherantly. its not the other officers that repeated beat you while screaming "stop resisting" or the court system, that does it best to try to intimidate you into takeing a guilty plea to avoid all the years and years from the 5 to 10 felonies they have you charged with.Not the judge, or the jury who sends an innocent man to prison. None of them alone did that. or could do that. But when you take all of them together..the system they are all a part of..a system that knowingly allows things to be fudged...cops to be allowed to leave the scene of a deadly shooting untested for booze or drugs...gives them days to talk with their pals to get their story straight...all of that is the system.
      So stop it..Damn it to hell..stop it! We should be outraged BY THEM!!! By injustice we should scream and gnash our teeth in anger over the ruined lives. But we dont...and damn if Im not starting to think we never will.

      You Americans should adjust your justice system and hiring of officers, do background checks or something like that and propper training. These things are horrible! In my country a kid under 23 goes to a 'special' prison for ages between 12-23 and is NEVER tried as an adult like they do in America.. We also rehabilitate people that have been in prison.. I see these things happen so often in America it's horrible and i don't get why nothing changes about your justice system

    • @outlawJosieFox
      @outlawJosieFox 5 лет назад +2

      I think it's got a lot to do with how local law enforcement is recruited and paid for. Take the Steve Avery case, the original miscarriage of justice would have cost the local community millions in compensation. That means local cops might have cost local people a lot of money . Then there's the fact that being sheriff is a question of election and you have a perfect storm.

Granted, those bad types of cops deserve to be fired and arrested for, let's see, wrongfully convicting someone, brutality, etc. But that's ok, just don't call the cops when you're in a situation like this if you don't like them.

      Save yourself from the three thousand other times you'll have to say "not all of them are like this" in your life, and look at the broader structure that incentivizes cops to act this way whether they start off there or not. It's a culture that is hard to break from.

      Agreed even if a person is guilty of somethings & maybe even a bad person themself if they didn't do the murder or wasn't involved in anyway then he shouldn't be put to death for it.
      To think if he is innocent it could actually have been to late for him if he didn't get a stay, i can't imagine how his family feel. I wonder if the police officer has any guilt in him not only for the wife but a guy getting put to death for something you done but just afraid to speak up now.
      It would eat me alive knowing i was doing that to someone, i don't think i could hide it.
