Would they find them guilty? No. The constitution was set up at a time when challenging someone to a duel was not uncommon. Families could and often did take revenge and that revenge was often against the family of the perpetrator since the perpetrator might be hard to get to.
To recount the tale you're either going to portray the emotions it brings you which will make you break down unable to continue or you're going to keep some distance and stick to facts.

It's almost heartbreaking. And when i heard him say that they raped him, thats when i got teary eyed. All the pain is in his voice, you can hear it to where you can almost feel it, but we will never (god forbid) feel what he has been through

i don't feel sorry for him after learning he turned on his friend simply because his friend was black and wasn't beat up as much. like seriously!? 1. cops acted because him AND his friend were missing...real stupid of his friend to be missing if he was in on it. 2. cops went through his friends phones and stuff to find the two girls that lured them...they would have found evidence of the friend being in on the torture if any was there. 3. the group was trying to target someone else and the two friends got mistakenly swept up in it.

In my opinion torture is worse than killing someone, you can kill someone in the heat of the moment and truly regret it, but to sit there and torture someone while they are alive and pleading is on another level.

The reason was that another football player robbed and beat up 3 men in another football player's dorm room during a would-be drug deal. and the college covered it all up and even bailed that football player out of jail when he was caught. These 2 may or may not have been the wrong guys...it was 3 masked men who beat up 3 or 4 other drug dealers. The friends.homies of the beaten/robbed drug dealers wanted revenge. The college is partly to blame for all of this as the covered it up to save their danged football team. So much for ethics.

I love that Elizabeth Smart is the one who does these interviews. She relates to these victims, from her own personal experiences, and she’s so incredibly gentle and compassionate with them. I don’t care what anyone says, I believe all nine of those evil individuals deserve to spend life in prison. There is absolutely no excuse in my mind for inflicting this type of atrocious abuse & torture on another person! Elizabeth Smart has such a natural gift for interviewing survivors. She has a gentle tone of voice and she's so respectful of what they might not want to talk about. It's obviously awful that being kidnapped led her to work in this industry, but I think she's really helping survivors understand that they can and should come forward.
IT's too bad she has to keep interjecting herself into the interview though. It's supposed to be about THEIR story and THEIR emotional toils, not hers.

They got less cause they accepted a plea deal, and they’re also the same reason that the cops found the boys before they were killed. If they hadn’t made a deal at the station for a lighter sentence after revealing the hideout, the kids would have died but the girls would eventually have been figured out and did way more time.

What's also very sad is the fact that he, himself is further traumatizing his friend who was clearly a victim as well by blaming him for having a hand in the crime. He needs to believe that his friend took part in the crime so he can garner ALL of the sympathy/empathy for himself. How sad. There is absolutely nothing to remotely suggest that his friend had a hand in what was done to either of them. Maybe they tortured him more because of the stereotype that white people have money and/or because he was the bigger (in stature) of the two so they needed to break him to make a statement. To part friendship based on an assumption tells me that his friendship with the other victim was disingenuous from the start. I'm starting to really have negative vibes concerning him. Maybe he's a bit jealous that the other guy withstood more of the physical trauma without crying and whimpering out loud as he did, not understanding that he, himself, is only human and that we all have varying thresholds for pain. It's too bad and utterly sad that he feels that way, or they could have leaned on each other for support in the healing process as a result of their harrowing ordeal. Wow!
I've always felt like there's something missing from this case. It just doesn't make sense that he would take so much of the damage and beatings when even the criminals themselves stated that he had nothing to do with this

Would they find them guilty? No. The constitution was set up at a time when challenging someone to a duel was not uncommon. Families could and often did take revenge and that revenge was often against the family of the perpetrator since the perpetrator might be hard to get to.

Elizabeth Smart has such a natural gift for interviewing survivors. She has a gentle tone of voice and she's so respectful of what they might not want to talk about. It's obviously awful that being kidnapped led her to work in this industry, but I think she's really helping survivors understand that they can and should come forward.

They got less cause they accepted a plea deal, and they’re also the same reason that the cops found the boys before they were killed. If they hadn’t made a deal at the station for a lighter sentence after revealing the hideout, the kids would have died but the girls would eventually have been figured out and did way more time.

I think what’s scarier is his hollowed expressions. He’s clearly empty from this. So sad.
I dont think you'd ever feel safe again after what happened to them, strange how he was shot in both legs and he was a football player.
He looks so numb like hes been traumatized and may even be on meds now.
What's also very sad is the fact that he, himself is further traumatizing his friend who was clearly a victim as well by blaming him for having a hand in the crime. He needs to believe that his friend took part in the crime so he can garner ALL of the sympathy/empathy for himself. How sad. There is absolutely nothing to remotely suggest that his friend had a hand in what was done to either of them. Maybe they tortured him more because of the stereotype that white people have money and/or because he was the bigger (in stature) of the two so they needed to break him to make a statement. To part friendship based on an assumption tells me that his friendship with the other victim was disingenuous from the start. I'm starting to really have negative vibes concerning him. Maybe he's a bit jealous that the other guy withstood more of the physical trauma without crying and whimpering out loud as he did, not understanding that he, himself, is only human and that we all have varying thresholds for pain. It's too bad and utterly sad that he feels that way, or they could have leaned on each other for support in the healing process as a result of their harrowing ordeal. Wow!
