Very true. I had a friend for almost 20 years, found out she drugged my youngest, who has Autism, when she volunteered to babysit him. Her excuse was he was too energetic (he was 3), but it didn't float in court obviously. She also thought because he had Autism he couldn't articulate to us that she drugged him, or that we were too stupid I guess to figure it out. We never saw her as someone like that. She wasn't sorry either. I never trusted anyone with my kids again after that.

@@Mediumrarerach Well people still would - as we see people commiting other crimes that gets them the death penalty.
But i think it would reduce the amount and get people to think twice. I am not sure though - as that requires cognition and many perpetrators have less of it and are driven by urges/desires and impulses they can not control.
The feed a fantasy over years and at some point act it out.
Still - people rape a child then get out of prison 3 years later to do it again. And imagine how many times they weren't caught.

      @TeamBTC17 3 года назад +42

I understand the sentiment really I do but the death penalty just sets in motion a court process for years even decades putting the victim through more and more trauma.
Nope put them on GiMo for natural life and learn from them. We need to benefit from these monsters to try to obtain as much info as we can to prevent future victims and try to extract something positive for survivors. Abusers are incredibly dangerous because they are master manipulators. There is a prison somewhere in the US that is full of sex offenders. The information they gather is invaluable.
Sadly it’s not only men who have this sickness.
The Death Penalty is horrific. I don’t believe that anyone has the right to take a life.
I am also a survivor and have worked a nearly 20 years with victims trying to empower them to be survivors. I’ve even done some limited work with actual offenders who agreed to chemical castrations.

At stake, with prisoners, is human rights...if we take them away from prisoners it may be easier for our own rights to be taken away. Not to mention you endanger guards and innocent prisoners when you encourage prison violence. Apparently according to men's rights advocates, contrary to all statistics the males have more rape inflicted on them than females (they are figuring many counts of unreported rape in prison) and therefore accuse (especially feminists of which I am one) of not taking rape in men seriously.

So instead he kills her and just takes the child so he doesn't have to deal with Melissa at all anymore. Just sick. Can't believe Melissa was a mother herself and still did this to another child. For a man. Disgusting. The irony is she died in a fire and will wake up in a forever fire. Where she belongs and so does Jake. You were absolutely right. My mom didn't like me or my twin brother going to sleepovers ..for a plethora of reasons. My best friend used to stay over at our house all the time, so finally...when I was 14, she allowed me to spend the night with her...
My bff lived with her single dad and younger brother...one weekend, I came over on a Friday night, her dad was still at his shop where he repaired boat motors, and got home very late. I wasn't feeling well and I went to her bedroom to lie down,..she was bored so she walked to a nearby convenient store with another friend. Meanwhile, her dad gets home, and he did not know that I had come over.
I figured my girlfriend with be walking in any second, so I just stayed put in her bedroom.
Idk ..maybe a half hour had passed ..and I was wondering where the heck my girlfriend was ..when the bedroom door opened. It was dark ..and her Dad walked over, and pulled the comforter down - I was lying on my stomach..than, time just kind of stopped. I felt a tug at the hem of the back of my shirt, he pushed it up and next thing I sensed was him kissing me on my back. I was absolutely paralyzed ..I couldn't even get a sound to come out of my mouth I was so scared. Just than, I heard the front door slam ..signaling my girlfriend was finally back.
I yelled to her .... Sissy!!! SISSY!!!!..and she tumbled in the room trying to assess what was going on. She said "Daddy, that's Lisa ...leave her alone ..now!"...and he just stopped and muttered something and left. Here's the thing: he didn't know I was there. I was in her bed. It was obvious to me that he thought I was her lying there.
It was that night I realized, she was being sexually abused by her father. So many things made sense. And believe it or not, we never spoke about it. I was too young to understand. And she didn't talk about it. So I left it alone. We were friends for decades until she died - only 45- from an undiagnosed heart condition. And she never talked about any of that.
*Update. I wrote the above comment around February 2023. On March 25, my son and only child, was killed in a motorcycle accident ..one day before his 30th birthday. The pain and grief are unbearable...he was a wonderful and loving son, a veteran who spent 7 years in the Army and was involved in several combat missions in Iraq and Afghanistan. I remember constantly praying to God to bring him home from those missions safely. So when he was finally discharged..I breathed a sigh of relief and was excited for him to reset and have a bright and happy future. He had recently got his CDL license and was excited to start a career as a long distance trucker. Life can change forever in an instant, it has for me.

@@ms.lisamurphy269 that's heavy.. i van imagine that you were too scared also to tell your parents, even though it would saved her from further abuse if your parents knew and could inform the police.. i stayed over a lot at friends and experienced nothing weird. But I am afraid kids have seen things at my place bc my mother always abused me not sexual but she yelled and screamed at me and made fun of me in front of my friends and hit me with everything she could find. I was 6 or 7 when kids began avoiding me yelling to my that my mother is crazy. I still have ptsd and run away from home when i was 16. I have a female friend who let her 4 kids stay over at my place for years, i am 37 now, and i cant have kids, i think, im in a ivf treatment. I always treated them with respect and always took them out everywhere like cinema or a amusement park, play garden. I was thankful for her trust and the joy of having kids from now and then. When i was young 2 female friends (sisters) of my mom took me often to stay over at their place, 1 had a daughter my age, or took me on vacation with their family bc they knew about my home situation and wanted me to have nice experience in life. That's the same i did for the kids of my friend because they also had not a nice home situation as in lot of debts, so no money, not good enough food and clothes, living in a deprived area . Living with 6 in an old apartment. So i took them out to experience nice things, let them sleep over, give their mother some rest. That's just what i do, bc adults helped me when i was young, and i have the same, i want kids to be kids and happy. They are older now and doing good in life. My sister has a 4 year old and I can't stop spoiling my nephew 🙏🏽💕 Sometimes i also doubt if i should try get kids with ivf bc of the world is a dark place. I would go crazy if something would happen. I already go crazy when my cat is gone for a few hours. And I always hope my sweet partner who i am with 11,5 years arrives home from work safe and sound to me. What my mom did to me scarred me, and i wish i could protect all children in the world 🙏🏽😭😪

      Are you sorry?
      Megan?
      Is that what you said?
      Hmmnn?
      Okay
Theirs no real solid evidence " melissa" wanted go give the baby to jacob.
      None at all.
      It maybe appeared that way.
But theirs no real evidence that accusation flies with truth.
If you think their is evidence to support that accusation ? Show me. Step by step -Explain.
In summary" their just simply isnt enough evidence to assume that was Melissa's intention.
      Whatsoever.
      That's of a certainty.
As far as the facts go.
The police here are just making false assumptions about melissa.
      In that regard.
They had no evidence at all that melissa was consenting to giving brittany to jacob for you know what.
      I cant even write that.
It's just too ridiculous to even write
But regardless no evidence exists which would confirm that was Melissa's intention.
And that's the real reason why shes dead.
That's why the kidnapping didnt happen while melissa was alive.
She obviously tried to stop the kidnapping.
Jacob never really let on to why he was dating melissa.
He dated her to get access to the little girl.
      Melissa never consented to that.
      Though.
The police are clearly lying in saying that melissa consented to that idiocy.
She tried to stop Jacob from taking the girl.
      That's obvious.
And she never really knew Jacob's intention was to take the girl.
So the cops here "" it most certainly appears to me """ are falsely accusing melissa of this crime.
      Clearly they are.
Show me any real solid evidence which says melissa is guilty of what the cops are saying about her here.
      I dont think anyone can.
The question I want to know is " why?
Where is the solid evidence that melissa irrefutably knew that's what jacob was truly seeking?
There is no solid evidence melissa knew that's what Jacob was after.
Theres no real evidence at all .
That's all just speculation and ridiculous assumptions as well as estimates on the part of the police.
      Quite a statement too.
      Regarding melissa.
      As
Melissa had no criminal record .
Listen . You people can say what you want.
But the reality is " theres no solid proof that's what melissa wanted or even consented to.
      By all facts
It most certainly appears to me melissa didnt know that Jacob's intention was to kidnap the baby..
And it also appears when she realized that was his intent she tried to stop him.
      So he killed her.
      That's the real scenario there.
So she died trying to save the baby.
      That's a distinct possibility
And that possibility makes much more sense then the other option people are saying here about melissa.
      Perjury is evil. So?
Do not falsely accuse a dead person of a crazy crime when it most certainly appears that dead person gave her life in an attempt to stop such a crime.
      Ya know?
      I mean... wow.
Be sure of such a crazy accusation.
Before you so blatantly risk defying exodus 20: 16.
In other words perceive this logical statement.
      Which is simply the following.
Quit condemning a murdered woman who technically didnt do anything wrong.
      That's most likely the case.
What the hell is the matter with everybody here?
      Think. Before ya talk.
      As I do.
      Seriously.
      Here.

Usually it was because the kid or parents wanted me to keep them, but I’d also just ask if they could come for “girls night” sometimes when I missed them. We’d do makeovers, facemasks, and movies.
They’re all adults now, but my nieces and best friends daughter all still come over for girls night every now and then.

If the girl had been molested by the boy you'd be saying something along the lines of how the little girl should've never been allowed to stay over where a boy 5 years older is. They can attend events and have get together a, we will pick them up at bed time because they sleep at home! Even get togethers give me anxiety so I ALWAYS attend if it’s possible. Since they’ve become teens we are a bit more lenient, but still, our children, sleep at home, under our roof, in their beds, safely.

My point is that some non violent drug dealers do this for monetary reasons and maybe rehabilitated in society. Our society has released child molesters rapists and murderers my point is the damage is irreversible like this child's innocence and her mother's trust in others around her family. So if I had to pick I rather live near a dealer because I don't do drugs than a murderer and rapist who do things for the hell of it.

She will never forget that I just hope people will allow her to not relive it and at some point not ever bring it up to her again. It's so crucial for SURVIVORS to be allowed to move past this when they're ready. I hate when people ask me about that crap. I dealt with it, went through therapy for it, suffered panic attacks for YEARS AND YEARS of my life .. and I'm finally at a place I can live my life without constantly remembering and reliving such things. I'm thankful to God it's not on my mind all the time anymore and I'm able to live my days in peace. Seeing things like this triggers my anxiety so bad and I just hurt for that poor child.
I DESPISE our "justice" system... My abuser never spent a night in jail and he abused two other girls alongside me and has always been free able to continue his abuse. Thankfully he lives far far away from me, but I wish to God he was dead or in prison!!!
