60 years is absolutely a violation of the 4th amendment. Nothing the court can do will change the fact that he wasn’t taught morals and disciplined by a father. Don’t lose sight of the people he victimized by taking their hard earned property while threatening them with deadly weapons. I’ve stumbled snd made wrong decisions, but never, ever, would I break into another persons home and steal, let alone stick a gun in their face while doing it. That causes trauma for the victim that doesn’t ever dissipate. Bad situation all around.

The total time of their offenses dictates the leeway within sentencing. So 60 years must been allowable based on conviction of the offense that violated probation, plus the original offense for which he was on probation for, if that makes sense... the real issue is that the system uses probation to continue to entangle offenders in the system, continue monitoring and assign large sentences (or more probation) that factor in old offenses should a violation occur.

Our system is screwed up. That i wholeheartedly agree with. However, in this case. He is a Repeat-Offender. Didn't learn his lesson the second time, that's fine. Third time, it's clear he hasn't learned his lesson at all. Probation keeps you on your toes, for the simple fact of loosing your life for a certain amount of time. 60 year's for what this guy has done? No i don't agree with that. But the punishment should still apply. Here's where my disagreements with our justice system come into play.
Our justice system works like this; Take a man who is convicted of a heinous crime, and throw him in Prison. Well when you put someone in prison, what happens? Well our prison works like this.... Throw someone into a Crowd. A Crowd of many other different people who committed the same, and or worse crimes... Let them Socialize with each other. The end result, you get no Rehabilitation. Prison in the US, is known for being the "Wild West" the unpredictable fate. There is absolutely 0 Rehabilitation in our Prison systems. No programs that fully convey the criminal mind.
That being said, we see this happen all the time. And it doesn't matter whether your White, black, hispanic, asian, arab, or another Race brought up in our Culture. The system doesn't care. Criminals become even more criminal through our systems outlook of Punishment, and in imprisonment. That is the problem. Our prisons, and the way we handle our criminal cases is the problem.
The way that I see it, personally... This man should have been Released to a REAL rehab program to evaluate his personal decisions and life choices. Not Bottled up with other hardened criminals that do no good around people who have potential; I.E the younger people who face poor decision-making in their early lives...

E to the rest of western democratic counties. You wouldn't compare an Audi to a hand made cart. But you'd compare and Audi to a BMW. I'd argue the United States has a crude and antiquated cultural system comparatively to other Western counties. There is no way 60 years should even be an option for breaching parole; that a person should have to pay $350 for an asthma pump (UK prescription equivalent $15) ; that a person has to worry about calling an ambulance to get them to hospital because they aren't insured or can't pay; that a person can't have an operation without worry about insurance; and that people can endulge in gun culture so freely.
