I'm raising grandkids and love it. Have one at 16 and one at 7. My granddaughter was 7 and grandson was 2 months when we got them and can't think of a better way to retire. It is fun and very rewarding and I to have to make it to see little guy graduate highschool. I'll be 85 then. I love them always and I'm so proud of both of them.
Your 70s is old to take on a grandchild, u have a big heart. But if u feel ok, why not. I hope you live until he’s at least 15 or 16. That way he’s older and more able to cope emotionally, don’t go yet, 12 or 13 is a bit young,
Is there an extended family culture within the Caucasian family as it is in the black family. What about uncles and brothers who can do their part. These grandparents are doing a great job but they need help. At their age it is not going to be easy. May God bless and keep them.
