Rome has a great voice, great guitar playing, and their first album was fantastic so much respect to him filling in some big shoes.

i see all these comments of people saying "hes just not brad" " he trys to sound like brad" even people saying "he is the new brad".. everyone is just looking at this thing in the wrong way. he was a trusted friend of the 2 core guys of sublime and in a few interviews he has said he knew brad he grew up him.. there is nothing wrong with keeping the spirit alive most of these songs were never even able to be performed because of his death shortly after.. the younger generation deserves to see it
Very well said, dude! Sadly, no one even knew who Brad was, except for a small few; until after he passed. Sort of like how Cliff Burton was given god-like status after he passed on; nobody hardly knew him while he was alive in Metallica. Rome actually has a better voice; he made me a renewed fan of the song and the band.

I have a ton of respect for Rome for coming into a situation like this and really putting a lot of effort into doing his best. Yeah he's not brad but you know he's one hell of a musician and is keeping this great music alive in the absence of brad.
The legend lives because of performances like this... You can never replace Bradley, everyone knows that. Even new fans that hear Santeria on the radio immediately know that Sublime TODAY is not the same band.
Rome is keeping Sublimes sound genuine.

Wow people I read some good bad and really ignorant and uneducated comments on here. Sublime got lucky when Rome just happened to be sitting outside playing his guitar singing their songs. Do you guys have ears or are you just not able to move on with Bradley's death? Bradley named his band Sublime for a reason, he's a positive person. I think he would want all of you to stop hating on Rome for carrying on his legacy because that's what Rome is trying to do for the Sublime fans. Bradley is definately smiling down at Rome saying "thank you man for not letting letting the fans forget about me" Every show Rome does a respectful shout out to Bradley thanking him. Go see the show then judge.
Some things are better as memories, Sublime is one of those things.

The recording was awkward, It felt rushed, felt like I was playing someone else's parts/songs. Other than "Panic", "Paper Cuts", and "Safe and Sound", it pretty much was. Some of the parts that were added after the fact really ruined some of the songs for me, for my liking."

I met Eric Wilson in 2012 outside his bus on sidewalk in NYC after watching their Irving Plaza show. It was surreal meeting him, a big teddy bear. I told him i've been waiting 14 years to see him play. He replied... i've been waiting 14 years to play!
We all had a chuckle. One of the greatest moments of my life.

Is he Brad? No. Would Brad appreciate the fact that his bandmates have been able to continue( and not lose all that $$ to the impersonators called Badfish) making a living with his music. If you can't see Rome's obvious love for everything Sublime then you are completely blind. I enjoy this immensely.
Brad would hate this. The Sublime drummer quit 'Sublime With Rome' because regardless of how much he may need the cash, after the excitement wore off he realized how weird it is. Brad's estate sued them for using the Sublime name. I guess one of only 2 surviving members of the band and Brad's wife don't know what Brad would've wanted, a bunch of internet dorks do.
xraeddie Just saw Badfish about a week ago and they're just as good, if not better, than Sublime with Rome in my opinion. The singers voice is at least better and more soulful than Rome's is.

for us, who got to grow up at that ripe music age of early teenage years, listen to Sublime, seeing them play, singing along with your friends at house parties and at the beach after surf session, having a guy like Rome is nothing but a treat. The first time I saw them live at Jones Beach years ago was one of my favorite shows. I went by my self, sat on the upper deck closed my eyes and was instantly brought back to a time when everything was right and there was not a care in the world. It was really one of my all time favorite concert experiences. So to you Rome, I thank you!

If I might be so bold. . . The way I see it is that he is not replacing Bradley. This is not Sublime, this is Sublime WITH ROME. This is a way for Bradley to live on , and for his memory to endure. I saw them live last year and all I could think of is how each song had its place in my life. I didn't focus on Rome , or any hostility because that isn't what sublime or Brad was about. It was about the music and the love for those sharing this experiment we call life. As far as the money, with them touring a portion of that money is in the account of Jakob James Nowell , his son. In the end , Brad achieved what he set out to do... take care of his family with his music. Now stop the hating and love one another.

I think the most important thing when a group of musicians tries to push forward after the loss of someone like Brad - more so than trying to replicate his sound - is to do in a manner that sounds good and pays respect and tribute to the original. There's many differences between Rome and Brad, but they're both talented in different ways and - most importantly - I think Rome does a respectful job paying homage to Brad's legacy without trying to lay credit to all he did. He acknowledges it, and does a great job paying homage. All you can hope for in a situation like Sublime was put in. Play on, brother Rome - and thanks, Brad.
he gave me the chills as I listened to him! I think Rome is great, he has a beautiful voice and you can tell this guy pours his heart out in these songs...he has some real tough shoes to fill in and I think he's the best I've ever heard since Bradley :) Keep up the good work...I hope to see you guys perform one day SUBLIME with ROME.

Very good rendition. I like Rome's vocal style a lot, he walks the like between smooth and flavorful nicely. Did a pretty good job with the solo too. Could've used a backup guitarist for a staged and studio-like live performance like this though. Choruses felt empty without those lingering arpeggios.

I'm tired of seeing all the negative comments about how Rome isn't Brad. Its sucks for anyone to be compared to another person's ghost. You'll never be good enough. As for the band name, so long as at least one of the original members is in it, they can use it. That's the rules, and one that Bowser from Sha-na-na fought for. I can think of worse things than this. I don't see Rome being disrespectful to Brad's memory, but that's just my perception.

I get people don't like Rome, he's not trying to be sublime, they picked him because he sounded similar so they can live out the legacy Bradley left behind for them. Rome puts his own twist trying to stay true the the original sound at the same time, so he can leave his own mark.

I like Rome, and I like Sublime with Rome. That being said, Bradley singing this song is perfection. There was this untamed quality about his voice that just made listening to him magnetic. That being said Rome can sing and does a good job with the song. It is his own way of doing it.

ya know, I've heard of sublime with Rome , but never listened to them before, I love sublime and was expecting them to be terrible... but.. I'm not disappointed, and I'm really glad I came across this.
I love Sublime and I love what Brad and those guys did and made....I genuinely feel that they made something unique and beautiful and lasting. I genuinely don't know whether to dislike 'Sublime with Rome' for sounding like a 'Sublime with Brad' rip-off or love them for being a tribute to what Brad created.
