just wanna point out how great of a bass player Eric Wilson is
The definitely doesn’t get the respect he deserves imo. Lots of really good reggae bassists don’t get the recognition yet they laid down some really infectious grooves that get sampled to all hell. Under appreciated genre really.
I know nothing of the band other than a couple songs I've heard over the years but he stood out right away as an excellent bassist.
Without Eric Sublime would not exist. For as great Bradley was that bass really tied the fckn room together!

everyone misses bradley, the original singer, that's most likely why. other than that rome's voice is pretty sweet too
People get attached to what they like, and deviating from that tends to get their hackles up, whether the new version is good or not. It's a case of "This isn't what I liked before."

Eric's bass groove kind of made this band, and it really shows in this tune. Props to Rome, too
you really can't expect somebody else to come along and be exactly like Brad. You will never get the same emotion from somebody else singing another persons songs, but for a chance to see sublime, I think Rome does a great job.

I don't mind Rome really. I just started to get into Sublime and I feel like Rome does his best to honor Brad's legacy. Of course, he won't have that emotional tie to their original songs that Brad wrote with the group, but he sure does his best to keep Sublime alive, along with the other two members. People need to stop the hate and feel the love. RIP Bradley, we love you man
there will NEVER be another Brad, but Rome is doing a great job singing in his stead. Let's hope we hear more great music from the guys. Peace and love.

Rome Rameriz is a talented musician and big fan of Sublime who was hired to front the band. After this festival I believe Brad's estate sued and they had to stop using the name "Sublime" because they owned it. After litigation it was agreed they could use "Sublime with Rome"

Whats with arguements guys? Sublimes all about the love and peace. Sublimes a title, a stand still word that represents all that is good and enjoyable in life. No matter if you tack on with Rome, or throw in different musicians, and the music sounds a little or completely different, its still Sublime representing peace and tranquility. And its a pretty diverce band that covers many genres, so with new musicians, it gets a fresh new sound and different approach to old favorites and new loved one

Joe I saw Sublime with Rome like a month back and the band sounded excellent. He may never be as interested as Bradley was as a creative and in the studio, but on stage, completing the 3-piece and filling I for Bradley’s guitar and vocals, he does really good.

Brad killed himself with drugs, it is not his band mates fault, are they supposed to stop playing because there singer was dumb about his drug addiction!?!?!?!? It is not there fault and they should not be punished for it, it is not disrespect to play there songs with a different singer..... Some people need to realize that life goes on and you can not punish the living for the dumb mistakes of a few... Even if it is tragic.
Heroin is SO HARD to kick. He was not okay, please, just understand man. He was not okay, trust me. I feel so bad for him, he was TRULY good and I never liked Sublime until I heard his story. Look at the band members. They DO NOT look happy at all. To be honest, they should have quit without Brad. He just poured so much emotion it made me cry. They are doing this for money, if they were happy, you would be able to tell.
Steven Rivera they did quit... For quite a while actually. And I'd be sad too if I was playing one of the last songs one of my best friends ever wrote. They probably started back again because it was fun to play music, and they're not just some band that keeps playing the old songs like some sublime cover band; they make new songs. Plus it's a sad song that's about some guy's girlfriend leaving him.

I don't really know what the terminology for the approach is, but Rome really sings from the same part of his throat and gets the high notes right, where to cut them off and work the inflections, the same style as brad. you can never replace the original, but you can be something new and great with the original material... dudes got it.
