In the 80's as a child, I met Emmylou and had a picture taken with her. In 2004 I met her again and gave her an autographed (by me) copy of that photo. I suggested that she could round file it (throw it away) and she replied, "I have an entire wall in my my house that is filled with memorabilia fans have given me. I know exactly where I am going to put this on my wall." She loves her fans as much as we love her and appreciates the influence she has had on so many of us. What a great tribute this was to her.
What a great performance! I'd never seen this version, although I know the song. I first heard these guys on David Letterman (he was a fan) and I started following them. They are the real deal! Thanks to Don and T. Smith for this - wonderful!
Hello and thank you so soo much for making a video with these wonderful talented girls!! Im from Sweden and those girls are such a joy and pride for us Swedes!!! :) I do love EmmyLou also !
lol I've been bawling over this performance and everything about it since it happened in 2015. Every .. damn .. time. Guess that's how it'll always be 🤷♂
You should check them out mate! First Aid Kit's probably the most underrated band still playing. I would recommend the songs My silver lining and Lions roar. Cheers from Sweden
Thanks for “revisiting” this. Yeah any song about Gram was sure to touch her. Something else struck me the first time I saw their video. One of Emmylou’s greatest gifts is her ability to recognize and nurture talent. Think of all the fantastic musicians who’ve shared the stage with her! Quite obvious how much she appreciates these girls.
Such a good song; I saw them make their network television debut on Letterman before they even had a record deal. I became an immediate fan. Great reaction Don, thanx for the re-upload.
Don and T. Smith thank you so much for this. WOW! I absolutely love and adore Emmylou( I' m actually having trouble gtyping this, I seem to have a little dust in my eye). Gram and Emmylou were very cathartic for me and mainly gave me the tremendous appreciation for country music I have today.I was into The Rolling Stones when I discovered Gram and Emmylou and they brought me back to the musicians grew up on. The first singer I checked out in you back catalogue when I discovered you was Gram. I don't believe you've done a Gram song in awhile so Please, Please, Please put Gram Parsons and Emmylou Harris's song "We'll Sweep Out The Ashes" on your request list. Once again thank you Son and T.
There's a song I've been listening to for years called Boots Like Emmy Lou's. I just found out it was written and is sung by Janis Ian. Life is amazing.
Interesting to see Emmylou being touched by a song while she has touched thousands upon thousands with her songs. Don't know if I've asked previously, but Collin Raye has a song that will fit the format of the channel and it's a touching one too. Consider adding "She's With Me" to your list. It really doesn't have the same impact if you don't do the official video. If I've asked before, just understand that the memory is one of the first things to go. Take care...
This is a wonderful song and it is impossible not to fell all the feels when you see Emmylou reacting. Another wonderful tribute song is “In the Quiet Morning” sung by Joan Baez and the music/lyrics by Joan’s sister Mimi Farina. It’s a tribute to Janis Joplin that Mimi wrote after Joplin’s death. ruclips.net/video/8Ybz1rmLmeg/видео.html
Sitting next to a king...getting this gift.... WOW!!😍
I was wondering if you reacted to them and searched your channel. Glad you have 🤘👑👑
The king's jiving
Emmylou, Paul Simon, Patti Smith. whenever the Polar prize is awarded, call in the Söderberg sisters. They are something else. Thanks, man!
Hard to believe these lyrics came from two young ladies of high school age and vocals with the guitar are phenomenal.✨💖

Brilliant, home grown, lyrics with nourishing voices is a medicine doctors can't prescribe.
Thank you for sharing this!
Amen to that!
May God Bless you and yours..
Shalom to you and your loved ones also. ☮️🙏💖

What a beautiful performance Don and thank you so much for sharing. Gave me goosebumps and yes, I shed a few tears!
@Clifford Barnes I seem to have a little speck of dust in my eye too.
I believe this is the first time Emmylou has been sitting beside a real king.
Ah yes, but she sang with the prince of broken hearts.

@Anna-Karin You’re welcome-I’m glad you enjoyed it!
@@RockN2Country If you want to check them out further they have made several performances in the states, like the Letterman Show! :)
The official video is shot in Joshua Tree, where Graham Parsons died. If you haven't heard their song, My Silver Lining, it is well worth the watch.

Pretty sure I requested this at some point as well. Glad you were ok with reuploading and we can all enjoy reaction.
They have this wonderful song "Stay Gold"
Thanks for “revisiting” this.

Beautiful song. I love your reaction.
they are from Sweden so it’s beautiful when music inspires across cultures.

Beautiful.
Great reaction to a fantastic song, also this was LIVE! Polar Music Prize.
That is goosebump music right there !
Nothing like family harmonies. Emmylou is such a class act. Joey + Rory have a song sweet Emmylou you should check out
Thanks for the Joey and Rory tip. While I am familiar w/Joey and Rory I had not heard this song. Another fitting tribute to Emmylou.
@@mikebarnett9012 you're welcome Sir
Thank you so much for this reaction!
Greetings from Sweden 🇸🇪
Don this is a good one and when anyone does a tribute to someone else it's amazing I like it 💯

Emmilou is sitting next to the Swedish king
This is ancient - play 'Angel' their latest great from Glastonbury!
SAee what happens when you play great music. Just got a neighbor complaint. TOO LOUD. HA!
@mike williams LOL!! If someone doesn't complain about you once in a while, you're not living right! Nice work. 🙂
Emmylou Harris is a beautiful woman, but…
Maybe you should react to She’s Gone, Gone, Gone by Lefty Frizzell.
Strange that the reactors always shows an artists worst performance 🤔Show the studio version instead 🤨
