Wow! Mike got emotional. This is a really good song and band. I’ve seen this before . They did a cover of Black Sabbath “ War Pigs” live and it was awesome! They rocked that one.
You could also watch when they perform "America" before Paul Simon. He stands up and applaud and no one else does...cause it is a rule that no one can stand if the Swedish king is not. 😄
Klara and Johanna are the first aid kit that will fix any ailment. They are yet another of the magnificent musical gems from the Scandinavian nations with the trademark crystal clear voices of females from those countries.
Foi a primeira música do First Aid Kit que eu ouvi e foi o suficiente para me tornar fã. As vozes dessas meninas são maravilhosas e as letras tocam o coração!
I subscribed to your channel with my first account because of your reactions to Morissette Amon. I'm subscribing with my second account because of Emmylou and these wonderful girls. Emmylou is an absolute legend. These two sisters are on their way to greatness themselves.
Just a little clarification - "Swede" (with capital "S") is what you call a person living in Sweden, whereas "swede" is the name of a large, round yellow-fleshed vegetable (in Swedish "kålrot"). I am sure you're not proud of identifying yourself as the latter. 😏
Greetings from Finland you two 😊 I have to tell you about a Norwegian artist called Mari Boine. Her song Guoskavillje from 2019 at the Oslo Opera House is just amazing. Think you would enjoy it. I enjoy your channel SO much! Best wishes, Theo
They do write and sing beautiully . They do great covers as well. Look out for thier Leonard Cohen tribute concert "Who by Fire." "If It Be Your Will" is very special. Also thier Christine McVie tribute. And their Fleet Foxes cover. And the other other covers they have done. Actally M&G, listen to everything you can from the Soderberg sisters. You will not be disapointed.
Nice to see Mike getting sentimental too 😄You should really listen to the performance they had to honor Patti Smith who was among the audience!! Have you people left Canada for good?? Looks so hot and different where you are at now. Could not live without the colorful fresh autumns and the silent white winters in the north myself. The tropic is not the first place to look for canadians either I guess 🥵Love from Norway
Yes! We have left Canada for good. We will miss Autumn, but where we are is actually quite temperate most of the time. It’s beautiful, and I can feed my whole family from my garden, year round.
I would recommend you checking out Dancing Barefoot and America, both of them live at Polar Music Prize....And the Fleet Foxes cover Tiger Mountain Peasant Song that made them heard
A couple more to consider. People have already recommended Wolf (IMO, the Glastonbury 2017 one is the best), and some of their new album, such as Angel, or Out of my Head. I'd like to throw in a few of my favourites. 1) Cedar Lane 2) Nothing Has To Be True 3) I've Wanted You All live, if possible. But then FAK are a band that sound just as good live as they do in the studio, so it doesn't really matter.
Good song! More of an 'Americana' feel to it than straight up Country. I mentioned it in the live chat a few weeks ago, but for Americana/Country, I absolutely love Jason Isbell's music, and normally I only listen to metal/hard rock. Jason Isbell is a fantastic songwriter. Jason Isbell & The 400 Unit - If We Were Vampires...Ginger's mascara might run listening to that one.
Thankyou so much for giving all the love to these absolute queens, I saw them earlier this month in London on their palomino tour and I cried the night away, emmylou was played and everyone sang along and it was beautiful, I will treasure this song for my whole life, I knew who emmylou was before first aid kit and even grew up listening to her and mark knopfler so knowing a band that has come to be my favourites also grew up listening to her makes it’s so much more precious, I know you’ve reacted to ready to run but I highly suggest please giving a listen to either wild horses II or out of my head(the version sung on graham Norton) Either way, Thankyou ❤️
@@bockviken It doesn't matter that they come from different traditions. The point is that First Aid Kit are like ABBA because both harmonise two women's voices.
@@FrancoUnAmericano All singers sing lyrics, don't they. Your widening the category to the point of absurdity is absurd in itself. That tells us everything we need to know about you lol.
What many miss with this phenomenal duo, the sisters are singing to one another as much as they are the audience. Watch again and you will see two performances.
Hope everyone know that Gram in the song is the amazing Gram Parsons who maybe is most famous for love hurts with emmylou harris, but also from the byrds sweetheart of the rodeo.
I love that you all let the entire video play out without constantly stopping to talk about it. Thank you for that!!!
This song is so gorgeous. First Aid Kit sing like angels.
A King and a Queen next to each other ! Perfect!
Thats why they called them self for first aid kit. They heal people from the inside and out and that is a gift🤘🤘🤘
Wow! Mike got emotional. This is a really good song and band. I’ve seen this before . They did a cover of Black Sabbath “ War Pigs” live and it was awesome! They rocked that one.
I bet enmylou never thought she'd be sitting beside Kimg Carl Gustav, being honored like this and she deserves it
You could also watch when they perform "America" before Paul Simon. He stands up and applaud and no one else does...cause it is a rule that no one can stand if the Swedish king is not. 😄
I think it's fair to make an exception in the presence of these queens, right?
The Swedish king to her left👍🇸🇪
Right…
@@ronger7801 her other left, right?
@@iTracking Yes, right to her other left.

Oturligt nog, ja!

Time hid from me for so long. These young women are so beautiful and at the beginning of their journey. God Bless!
They've been on there three times, and made three different recipients cry: Emmylou, Patti Smith and Paul Simon. They did "Red dirt girl" for her too.
Dancing barefoot
@@uncommonman That was for Patti, and America for Paul Simon.
Oh, the "Red dirt girl" performance was something else! You could read the hurt and the love off of Emmylous face, and the song was so well done.
That was amazing Dancing Barefoot

I have never heard of First Aid Kit till tonight. They are exceptional!! What a treat! Thank you!
I’m not crying, you are. Emmy Lou has been my favorite for so long
Imagine how much Emmylou thought of Gram during this song.
The old man digging next to Emmy-Lou is the Swedish King Carl Gustav.
I wish they would have put their Verizon of Red Dirt Girl from this performance. It's fantastic!
The king's jiving
2 years later - and i'm still crying.
Since they were 14 and 16 when this was written, there's a very charming naivety about it as well. Brilliant!
They said they had been listening to Emmylou since they were 14 and 16 - not that they wrote this song at this age. Right?
As A swede! I love First aid kit! Nice reaction.
Finally! Thank you, gorgeous couple.
Like the two sisters in First Aid Kit Emmylou and Gram sang beautiful harmonies together.
They are stunning, followed them for ages. This is years old. Play their latest 'Angel' from this year's Glastonbury.
The man sitting on Emmylous right hand side is Carl XVI Gustav - King of Sweden.
Så himla bra 👌so beautiful
ELH is a music goddess. One of the greatest voices of all time for me.
First Aid Kit really did a good job.

Emmylou is an absolute legend. These two sisters are on their way to greatness themselves.
I guess that the only reason Emmylou keeps it somewhat together is that she is seated next to the king of Sweden. Marvellous tribute song.
I've seen Emmylou and First Aid Kit - wish I'd seen Gram - great stuff
Proud to be a swede with artists like this

That was really cool. Loved it
I trust sometime soon after listening to this you listened to Emmylou's great "Boulder to Birmingham", her tribute to Gram.
Having this song and sitting by the king of sweden, nice.
MUST listen to their live cover of Black Sabbath’s War Pigs..! :)

This song gets so much deeper if you know yhe love story between Emmylou and Graham
No FIRST AID KIT without Frida and Agnetha before them. That's their first inspiration.
I think you are wrong. They come from another tradition. Swedish music is much more than Abba. Besides their father is a musician.

You think so?
Emmylou kept her composure because she was sitting next to the king of Sweden. No ugly crying amongst royals.
You obviously need to do some reaction videos to Gram and Emmylou
Hmm.. Mike.. think that the emotions got the best out of you.
Don't believe it was a slide guitar, but a steel guitar.
Good reaction anyway !!
BTW, Emmylou has the King of Sweden - Carl XVI (16th) Gustav Bernadotte to her right at the table.

Amazing groundbreaking band!
prolly heard it before but at 00:56 its the swedish king :D
As good as this is, their performance the same evening, of 'Red Dirt Girl', is even better.
