I'm delighted to see Lindsay Lohan back on our screens, giving us cheesy, feel good rom coms. She's definitely thriving in both her professional and personal lives.
Yes it is cheesy, and with predictable tropes we've seen so many times before/a predictable plot(but as you said, sometimes we need that too), but it was still a cute little thing (and the actors did a fine job with it), that I'd gladly rewatch from time to time, and it's so nice to see Linsay Lohan back on the screen and happy.
We need feel good movies like this with predictable endings because we go through too much emotional damage with other shows and movies we watch 😭 give us the break we need !😮💨
Movies, like romantic comedies are what I like to refer to as “meat and potato movies”. there were times when we all tell ourselves that what we want is some fancy French cuisine or high concept Asian fusion cookery. But we have to admit that sometimes we’re craving. Add dish of pot, roast, smothered in mushroom gravy with mashed potatoes, macaroni and cheese and biscuits. And what I asked you was so wrong with that. Do you know exactly what you’re getting when you go to a McDonald’s and get millions of people do every single day
Being Irish myself, I love whenever works are set in Ireland, no matter how unrealistic the depiction is. For instance, you rarely see convertibles, plus it's almost always raining, even during the summer. ☔🌞
I grew up going to Ireland every year or two and given Knock airport is only a "few" fields from family home I am thrilled to see it in the movies. We missed the filming by a few weeks when we were there last.
Thanks to Irish Wish I was able to see the beauty of Ireland...and I never consider this movie a trash....It was a cute movie and their chemistry was good...and every word from Speeler melts me
No one asked but here's my review: Irish Wish has a stronger premise and a stronger script than Lohan's earlier Netflix venture Falling For Christmas. 2024's Irish Wish is more charming, there's more chemistry between the characters, and the performances are much better. While it does feel predictable and sometimes a little slow, the film overall is what you'd want from a cheesy feel-good romcom. The third act is where things really come together and the convening plot threads are woven together through Lindsay's acting chops. The handful of emotional sequences that take place in the latter part of the movie allow her to really shine as a performer and it's clear the public wants to see her in more projects in the future; although, preferably with ones that have a tad more substance. This movie is a solid romcom and it's a pleasant surprise we're getting the Lohanissance at the same time romcoms are coming back. Lindsay undeniably carries this film with her charm.
Why can't ppl just enjoy movies anymore and stop saying that it's trash stop criticizing for no reason and it's a good movie don't hate movies that u never watched before it's getting annoying
Right, people need to stop movies based on the trailers they see and actually give them a chance. If a trailer for a movie looks good, then I’ll consider watching the movie. I usually wait until after I see the movie to form my opinion anyways.
It was a fun movie the only thing I would change would be to let Paul give Maddie credit. Just to show that even though he didn’t end up with Maddie he’s still a good guy. Otherwise I had a lot of fun with it
I'm Irish, it was quite cute...a bit cheesy and unrealistic at times ...but I must admit enjoyed as it's a lighthearted and feel good film. Looks like they had a fun time making it...and it's great advertisement for Ireland tourism.💚☘️
I thought the movie was pretty good, even if it was cheesy. The only problem I have with it is that some parts felt a little rushed and Paul should’ve given Maddie the credit for writing the book. I loved Maddie and James’ banter and they had such good chemistry, even more than her and Paul.
Seeing the comments makes me confused, i guess i m alone in the movie being unwatchable. I want simple feel good rom com too but nothing felt believable. Acting or dialogue, not sure what the problem was but i know i tried to finish the movie and still cant
If you want to see a decent romcom with good actors, set in Ireland. There is always "Leap Year" with Amy Adams. They have the chemistry down at the very least!
Sleepless is a chick flick, not rom com. CF has a major character dying or death that impacts the story. See also: wedding planner, steel magnolias, return to me, etc.
This movie was horrible. She wished to marry her BF's fiance and stole him away with a wish? It was obvious also that Lindsay's character liked the guy and her friend still flirted with him. These are not real friends.
I don't think this was really a bad movie and Lindsay was still a good actor, and that enabled me to finish watching even though it was by the numbers and totally predictable. It is sad to see Lindsay over a decade after her troubles is ill attempting a comeback with this Rom-com type movie. Also, am I the only one who find the bridegroom guy insufferable? I can't imagine the Lindsay character or the other girl being interested in him.
The whole world went Marvel mad and they forgot easy watching movies without a wider universe. We need these sorta comfortably numb movies that don't take much brain power to just consume. Stop doing cinematic universes, movies that have to have deep meaning or hidden messages. Give us the trash too. The world is going to shit, we need the easy going trash to make it better.

It was amazing! I felt the nostalgic, fun vibe, and cheesy fun movie she used to make back then and now...this.
"Irish Wish" is a cute movie that scratches the itch whenever you want to watch a romcom. Not everything has to be "ground breaking."
Agreed!
what is more important her chemistry with Ed Speeler was best❤

This was such a cute little movie! Lindsey shines in this role! Love seeing her acting again and having a wonderful family of her own now! 💚🍀

Such a good movie, you kinda know what’s gonna happen and still delivers a good ending

Lohan + Speleers + Beautiful Ireland + a cute & light romantic story = HAPPY SATURDAY FOR ME 😊
Being Irish myself, I love whenever works are set in Ireland, no matter how unrealistic the depiction is. For instance, you rarely see convertibles, plus it's almost always raining, even during the summer. ☔🌞

I love living here but you're right..always raining.

I second that.
Needs to me a new insta-ban thing cause that shits gettin old.
Too many grifters on both sides, even. 😮💨

This is a cute movie that I would gladly watch again! I was prepared to not like it but it’s well worth your time!

Lindsay Lohan deserves better scripts. She can make magic and Netflix is wasting her talent.
Bring back these type of movies again! Enough with too complicated heavily cgi movies

Not gonna lie, surprised to see Lindsay Lohan doing better now.
i really liked it, its cheesy but i eat it up every time
Seeing the comments makes me confused, i guess i m alone in the movie being unwatchable. I want simple feel good rom com too but nothing felt believable. Acting or dialogue, not sure what the problem was but i know i tried to finish the movie and still cant
This came off to me as a half assed 27 Dresses and it was so ridiculous and cheesy that I loved every minute of it. Give me more Lindsay!

Like every other rom-com movie, be careful what you wish for and the movie is surprisingly good
I love a rom com that’s just what you expect. Cozy, reliable, pretty to look at.
I am not yet accustomed to middle aged Lindsay Lohan, but I am getting there swiftly. 😍😍😍
Sleepless is a chick flick, not rom com. CF has a major character dying or death that impacts the story.

Yes I love this cheesy rom-com
Cheesey and silly so true but truth is that's what our hearts 💝 want that inevitability that predictability that fun...
This movie was horrible. She wished to marry her BF's fiance and stole him away with a wish? It was obvious also that Lindsay's character liked the guy and her friend still flirted with him. These are not real friends.
Irish Wish is so cute and cheezy movie and bc lindsay lohan really nailed and she did it a
I liked it.
Indi romcoms have being breaking troops and folding the genre soo AWESOME and are great❤
Of course i do, happy late tuesday , Emily.
This got me thinking about underrated/forgotten rom coms i used to love. I really want to go back and rewatch The Cutting Edge. Any other suggestions?
I prefer cute over trash
Y’all so cynical nowadays
It's not trash!!!!
I know. It was not the best title.
Mean Girls Movies
I never watch it .but i will watch 😊now

ALEX VLAHOS!!!!!!!
a very godd movie
The rom-com genre is dead
And Netflix is the only studio that still wants to invest in it
No one cares. If you don't like the genre, why comment?
@@kamsismithcause these kinds of bots are board as hell, that it's pure pity, yknow. 🤭
He's not a bot. He's a user who constantly needs to post negativity about feel-good movies and genres he despises.
@@kamsismith he and a few others I can think of who think of themselves as "aspiring filmmakers" when they're just green with envy. 😈
@@AshParth560it wouldn't be envy if he hates the genre for diminishing cinema. Kinda like Scorsese with Marvel movies
Second!!!!
She still looks stunning, wouldn't go and see this though, she has Irish roots based in Galway
