Ross and Rachel were on a break, but his indignation became the issue, since he had been so hard on her, believing she was going to cheat with Mark - even though she had no interest at the time - but then a few hours after they split up, he hooked up with some random girl he didn't even notice before. As Chandler said, "You slept with someone three hours after you thought broke up. I mean, bullets have left gun slower."
Ross was so obsessed with being semantically correct that he denied any validity of Rachel's feelings of betrayal; I mean, upon initial exposure, he expresses remorse and guilty, but later just rejected any responsibility. Perhaps it is due to being someone who was cheated on, he couldn't accept that he did the same.

    • @goofymao1261
      @goofymao1261 9 дней назад +3

That's exactly my problem with him.
His behavior was exactly the thing that troubled their relationship and after that affected Rachel so much to the point she needed a time alone, he got with another woman HOURS after. It's not about the actual technicality of cheating, but just about the implications of that in Rachel's point of view. But he didn't stop to think about that after cuz he just wanted to be right. And despite the active efforts to come back with her he still wouldn't at the very least acknowledge the validity of her feelings. Made me completely change how I saw him.
Just made me all the more annoyed by the end where she chose him over Paris lol

Joss Whedon hated how popular Spike became. He hated that the fans WANTED him with Buffy and actively shipped them together. He purposely wrote that scene to tank Spike’s popularity. He didn't know she was hurt, not really, and wasn't paying enough attention to realise that no really meant no in that bit. But yes, you're very right, and that's the only reason it happened which is why I just plain don't count it in my head. Like no, Spike went on his redemption arc becasue that's who he is, not because he did this fake horrible thing that didn't even happen because of Joss' BS.

Like Robin made it clear how she felt about Ted after that whole first premature “I love you” so he reluctantly moved on. Later, he’s with Victoria (or one of his other girlfriends) and she immediately is like “I love him! How dare they steal my man” so he breaks up with them and he goes after her but she just goes “nah, I’m good.” Then the whole cycle just repeats 😒

@@LadyKattrina84 exactly, and I remember a while back James stated that the episode actually came about because the writing team were specifically asked to write about things they themselves had done and regretted. As it turns out it was a female writer who had been the aggressor in a relationship. Joss and the team were the ones to make the decision they couldn't have Buffy the lead character doing something like that. Aparently Joss made out like they decided it should be Spike trying to rape Buffy. James says he and Sarah did not like it from the moment they read it but Joss and the rest pressed them to do the episode anyways, they were both VERY uncomfortable with it. I really do think that Joss was trying to tarnish Spike to finally get him kicked off the show, only for him to still be there to the end and then go on to Angel, that must of really ate at him. James has talked about how Joss cornered him once and said "I don't care how popular you're character is" and indicating he would essentially kill the character off if he wanted to. Joss had major control issues. Hell reading about what Charisma Carpenter went through too is eye opening, and he majorly ruined her character on Angel and then basically offed her.

I liked that scene because it reminded us that Spike was evil, at the elemental level and he was physically incapable of redemption. Which is a fundamental truth of the series. in the Buffyverse you're not yourself when you become a vampire, a demon moves in, it takes control of your body, it takes your memories as its own, and then it preys on people.
So sure, Spike was likable, and Spike felt affection and love for his evil wife/sire and then for his friends in the "scooby gang" but ultimately, he was evil. There was nothing good in him until his desire to be loved tricked him into reclaiming his soul and taking on all the guilt and horror that comes with it.

With Ross & Rachael People ignore Rachael's part in their "Brake".
    It was her Idea.
Ross had been telling her for Weeks that her Boss Mark had a thing for her, but she completely dismissed this. Mark would later admit to her that Ross was right, she never admitted this to Ross and let him take all the blame.
Also don't forget that Ross didn't just immediately jump into bed with the Other Girl, He phoned Rachael to make sure she was OK, and if she was sure about the break, he only started Drinking at the Bar when he heard Mark in the background at the apartment.
and let's not forget how Rachael found out, Gunther, who had a thing with her, we never found out exactly what he told her, and I would guess he embellished some of the story.
So, while we should not condone Ross's actions, we should acknowledge that Rachael did little to help the situation.

Maybe a deep cut, but Gwen Cooper from Torchwood forsleeping with her co-worker Owen and then confessing to her boyfriend that she'd cheated and then DRUGGING HIM so he'd forget it and she'd get away with it. And it just... never comes up. She cries, Owen is kinda like ??? for a bit, and then they just move on because Gwen is the creator's favourite character. I *do not care* whatever else she does in the series, she cheated and then manipulated a man that did absolutely nothing wrong (honestly he's a great guy for being as boring as wallpaper paste) and we're just supposed to be fine with it? There was not a need to act immediately and it is her daughter as well as his, so she had a right to be included in the decision or at least have a chance to say goodbye. So it felt good to finally have her confront him about this.

While I find it gross that Ross slept with someone the same night, he and Rachel broke up he's not wrong. Rachel broke up with him. He's a single dude, and he can sleep with whoever he wants. Rachel shouldn't have broken up with him if she still wanted a say in who Ross got to sleep with. If anyone should have been on your list, it's Rachel. She was bossy and mean.

Wait wait wait you're telling me that the woman from Weeds, who played Jenna Malone's mother in "Saved!", marries a DEA agent played by the Pastor in "Saved!" Whom she ALSO falls in love with in said film????? That's WILD casting fun.

Michael killing Libby and Anna Lucia didn't make me hate him. i understood his desperation to save his son. He wasn't in his right mind and was somewhat brainwashed by the others and promised his son would be safe. I actually ended up sobbing when he came back and tried to redeem himself.

Yeah, there was no need to make Deb in live with Dexter. Made no sense too. She was devored to him when she was in love with other people too.
