On what grounds is this top list being constructed? Views? Personal choice? Gross incoming of the movie? But too bad that so many with the best chemistry have left out. First: no single man-to-man or girl-to-girl, straight or gay, has been mentioned. Like the dance in Zorba the Greek, the Sirtaki, between Anthony Quin and Alan Bates . Or the tango between Salma Hayek and Ashley Judd in Frida. More: Al Pacino and Gabriella Anwar in Scent of a Woman (electrifying), Vivian Leigh and Clark Gable in Gone with the Wind (groundbreaking in the context of the movie time line), Greta Garbo and Melvyn Douglas in Two Faced Woman (who would have thought that kind of dancing of the Goddess Miss Garbo), Elvis Presley and Ann Margret in numerous films (rocking). And Rita Hayworth, just to mention one lady, in countless, breath taking dance sequences (sensious), And what about memorable dancing (straight/gay) in not Hollywood productions (just to mention only one: Sophia Loren and Vittorio de Sico in Mambo Italino, hilarious and electrifying). There are so many with best chemistry of them! And so many old skool Hollywood dances also have been left out. The Nicolos Brothers? Hellzapoppin? All with splendid chemistry. Anyway, these are just a few what instantly popped my mind. There must be so much that I forget to mention though! What else dance sequence with the best chemistry do you think must absolutely be included?
@@kryptonianpowers I know. It's a testament to his professionalism and skills that he crushed the role despite his loathing of it. It just makes me love him more!
The Sound Of Music dance is awesome. I grew up with that movie and that scene makes even a lot of viewers catch their breath with them, sure does with me, every time.
Disagree. It's a platonic relationship and he already has a dozen wives. It does show growing mutual respect that he allows her to teach him something at which he is initially awkward.
@@What_Makes_Climate_Tick Nothing platonic about that dance. When he puts his hand on her waist you can feel the electricity racing thru her and he knows it. The intensity of his gaze shows that. And just because he had a dozen wives doesn't mean he loved them. They were probably more like the barking, hopping woman in "Coming to America" and Anna more like Lisa in the king's eyes. They can't realistically be together, classic star-crossed lovers, and they know this so they keep their distance. But very briefly during that dance, their true feelings come to the surface.
Best dance scene of all time! It's all the more spicy because they aren't "supposed" to be in love. But the feeling is electric. The swooshing of her dress and his muscles and bare feet - best dance scene of all time!
Rest in Peace, Patrick Swayze. The famous "Lift" scene with Jennifer Grey is so electrifying, which makes it ironic that they didn't get along during filming. They did patch things up before Swayze's death, though.
This list should be longer. And anything by Fred and Ginger should be at the very top. And no, I’m not from their generation. But if you watch them, regardless of your age, you”ll be mesmerized. That said, the Landler from Sound of Music is one of my favorite scenes of all time.
The Sound of Music. Forever number one. The passion. Oh the passion! Hot hot hot. The sudden emotion takes them by surprise. The chemistry was explosive. ❤
The scene in Sound of music is Timeless!! Mask of Zorro was very passionate! Shall we Dance was delightful… and Dirty Dancing was Iconic! Great Choices of movies & scenes❤️🇨🇦
I would definitely add Kristine Scott-Thomas and Robert Redford's intense barn dance scene in "The Horse whisperer", but also the smouldering, impromptu dance between Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis in the garage/barn in "Witness".
Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer dancing in The Sound of Music was breathtaking. Christopher Plummer and Richard Burton were two incredible actors and very handsome men.
I literally just found and watched Strictly Ballroom based on the clips in this video! And I loved it! It was a bit weird and chaotic at times (you know... Baz Luhrmann), but I absolutely loved the couple at the heart of it
The tango scene in Easy Virtue and of course the tango in Scent of a Woman would be my picks but I must say I ADORE the Sound of Music scene and Dirty Dancing... RIP Patrick...
And speaking of landmark cinema tangos, never forget the tango that swooned the nation in "The Four Horsemen Of The Apocalypse" -- the tango that made Rudolph Valentino a star, an idol, and a legend.
I was glad to see the movie Picnic mentioned. That dance scene is not to be forgotten. From that same era was the chemistry between Lee Phillips and Lana Turner in Peyton Place.
The Sound of Music dance has always been my favorite,,,glad it was included. What happened to Shall We Dance? The King and I? Undercover boil if I ever saw one 😮😮😮😮
A very difficult list to make ... but Fred and Ginger should be No. 1. They were absolutely legendary for a reason. Fred Astaire was amazing with quite a few of his partners.
Alejandro and Elena’s dance alone makes The Mask of Zorro worth watching for me. 🤩 The Ländler dance is one of my favorite scenes from The Sound of Music. You can literally feel the chemistry between Maria/Julie Andrews and Captain/Christopher Plummer pop out of the screen. 🩷
*MY FAVORITES:* The Ländler - The Sound of Music The Ball - Pride & Prejudice "A Lovely Night" - La La Land "Assassin's Tango" - Mr. & Mrs. Smith "You're the One That I Want" - Grease "You Were Meant for Me" - Singin' in the Rain "Perhaps, Perhaps, Perhaps" - Strictly Ballroom "So Close" - Enchanted "I've Had The Time of My Life" - Dirty Dancing A Very Spirited Dancer - The Mask of Zorro "Cheek to Cheek" - Top Hat Irish Dance - Titanic "Dance at the Gym" - West Side Story A Sharp Routine - Addams Family Values "Be This Alive" - Shall We Dance "More Than a Woman" - Saturday Night Fever "Ten Minutes Ago" - Rodgers and Hammerstein's Cinderella "Your Song" - Moulin Rouge! The Waltz - Cinderella (2015)
I think it's on RUclips dance scene with Robert Redford & Kristin Scott Thomas in 'The Horse Whisperer' Very short scene but wow! My 80 yr old Mom said " I think that's the sexiest thing I've ever seen in a movie"😂❤
The intense dance between Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas in "The English Patient" should definitely be on this list. Just an absolutely excruciating level of laser-ficused desire.
LOVE Strictly Ballroom! Would have liked to have seen Shall we dance from The King and I, and possibly one of the My Fair Lady sequences on the list, at least in honorable mentions, but still a solid list.
@KdubsSupergma-eb8mo Oh? I thought it was a fan favorite. A fun, light-hearted number that feels almost like a rehearsal. I love it! It's definitely in my top 5.
Singing in the Rain, Sound of Music, Shall We Dance, Dirty Dancing-Swazi & Grey amazing. So many excellent dance scenes that are electric. Schwarzenegger excellent dancer also or possibly just attraction to style.
A list of top 10 dances with best chemistry and no mention of the iconic ‘tale as old as time’ dance from beauty and the beast ( animated version)? Blasphemy!
The Sound of Music is a gem, the top one ! Have you tried the Prokofiev rehearsal in « The Turning Point » starring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Leslie Browne ? Greetings from France 🇫🇷
Just rewatched the Sound of Music. That dance scene was so innocently hot. I certainly don’t remember that as a child! 🤣🤣 I would’ve added the waltz in Crimson Peak between Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska.
There's a difference between seeing The Sound of Music as a young girl and then again as an adult. When you're young Christopher Plummer seems like an "old guy", so his passion eludes you. Twenty years later, you get it.

No 1
Mine? Sound of Music of course 😊❤
The Captain and Maria forever!!!
Plummer actually hated working on the movie despite that both he and Dame Julie became very good friends while working together.
@@kryptonianpowers I know. It's a testament to his professionalism and skills that he crushed the role despite his loathing of it. It just makes me love him more!
I agree 100 percent
Was on ABC last night and watched for the umpteenth time on my tiny TV. Too many commercials and clipped scenes. Nothing can kill my enjoyment of it.
Absolutely agree
The dance between The Captain and Maria is the definition of being so absorbed by your partner the world fades away.
The Sound Of Music dance is awesome. I grew up with that movie and that scene makes even a lot of viewers catch their breath with them, sure does with me, every time.
King & I "Shall We Dance"!!

@@williampelto6095omg yes! ❤❤❤
The Sound of Music, laendler,. How he steps in and it's such a sweet moment for everyone.
Rest in Peace, Patrick Swayze. The famous "Lift" scene with Jennifer Grey is so electrifying, which makes it ironic that they didn't get along during filming. They did patch things up before Swayze's death, though.
Jennifer grey won that disco ball on dancing with the Stars. I knew from the minute I saw her first dance that she was just going to take it all.
The romantic dance between the Captain and Maria, is for me the best.
Happy to see that we all share that beautiful dance between Maria & captain Von Trapp.
What a movie, I was 12.
The Ländler has always been my absolute favorite. Great scene.
The Sound of Music. That dance sealed the deal.
Marìa & Captain Von Trapp my absolute favorite
i am SO happy that Strictly Ballroom Perhaps ended up on this list!
The Captain and Maria will always be number one for me. A close second will be Elizabeth and Mr. Darcy ❤
Watch the 1990s Pride and Prejudice with Jennifer Ehle and Colin Firth, THAT is serious chemistry.
Thank goodness "Strictly Ballroom" and "The Sound of Music"! They are my all-time favourites!!! ❤❤❤
I love Strictly Ballroom so much❤ I have it on Blu-ray and none of my friends understand why I like it. Also Xanadu, is another favorite ❤❤❤
@@nicoleraco636I’ve never seen Strictly Ballroom. Guess I should check it out. 🤔
I literally just found and watched "Strictly Ballroom" based on seeing their dance in this list! Love it!!

Everyone thinks they’re more evolved/cooler than past movies or music
Julie Andrews is insanely beautiful
Sound of Music Captain and Maria has had me swooning for decades. But Dirty Dancing's final dance with Johnny and Baby is a very close second!
And strictly from the woman’s point of view, Christopher Plummer had the sexiest eyes in the movies! ❤🥰😍
I was just a little girl when I first watched the Captain and Maria dance. Even at my young age I remember being absorbed.
The Sound of Music. Forever number one. The passion. Oh the passion! Hot hot hot. The sudden emotion takes them by surprise. The chemistry was explosive. ❤
Sound of Music, because its the moment they realise they are in love. Perfect.
Sound of Music - All Time BEST. So glad to have met the actor in person!!!!!
Lucky you!
Please tell us!!!!!
The captain and Maria #1!!
The scene in Sound of music is Timeless!! Mask of Zorro was very passionate! Shall we Dance was delightful… and Dirty Dancing was Iconic! Great Choices of movies & scenes❤️🇨🇦
By far THE SOUND OF MUSIC !!!
I would definitely add Kristine Scott-Thomas and Robert Redford's intense barn dance scene in "The Horse whisperer", but also the smouldering, impromptu dance between Harrison Ford and Kelly McGillis in the garage/barn in "Witness".
My favorite is the scene in Witness
I think the multi chemistry of the Barn dance of 7 brides for 7 brothers should have been included.
totalmente de acuerdo, tremenda pelicula.
The tango scene with Antonio Banderas and Katya Virshilas in “Take the Lead” sizzles!
💯%. I was hoping it would have been included.
Best dance ever captain and maria
Hey! What about the "Shall we dance?" scene with Yul Brynner and Deborah Karr in The King and I? That should have been at least in the honorables!!!😊
Honorable mention?? Should have been number one!
@@rosannekouris9015 Yes! I just mentioned that one.
I think the ball scene in Enchanted has the most chemistry of any movie ever.
Definitely should’ve been on the list
Agree. It should have at least tied with the Caprain and Maria if not 1st.
the song is definitely a big part of it
Julie Andrews and Christopher Plummer dancing in The Sound of Music was breathtaking. Christopher Plummer and Richard Burton were two incredible actors and very handsome men.
Yes! Christopher Plummer and Richard Burton-the two sexiest men in movie history!
Ahh The Sound of Music is my absolute favourite ❤❤ the Laendler is so beautiful ❤
The movie is going to be on ABC this Sunday night 😊
I'm wondering. Which came first, the tune for the "Laendler" or "The Lonely Goatherd"? 🤔 🎶 🐐 🎶
@@patc4586 In the movie or in recording of the movie?
I literally just found and watched Strictly Ballroom based on the clips in this video! And I loved it! It was a bit weird and chaotic at times (you know... Baz Luhrmann), but I absolutely loved the couple at the heart of it
The live action Cinderella…that little gasp when he places his hand on her waist is everything 🥰
Dirty Dancing all the way 🤩
I love how you can't fool Liesl in "The Sound of Music". Look how her face's changing when captain comes to dance with Maria.
My vote is for the tango in Scent of a Woman but I also like the dance scene in Blast from the Past
I was glad to see the movie Picnic mentioned. That dance scene is not to be forgotten. From that same era was the chemistry between Lee Phillips and Lana Turner in Peyton Place.
Mr and Mrs Smith - Assassin's Tango deserves at least an honorable mention. I'm glad they had the Mask of Zorro paso.
It was the first one that came to my mind.
The Sound of Music dance has always been my favorite,,,glad it was included. What happened to Shall We Dance? The King and I? Undercover boil if I ever saw one 😮😮😮😮
Shall We Dance...The King and I...Yul and Deborah..PERFECTION
I thought Ginger Rogers' dress from the Cheek to Cheek dance was stunning. It flowed beautifully with her every move.
Apparently it was veery heavy and hard to move in. Looked amazing.
And feathers flew everywhere!
This should lead to a Top 20, or 30. There is so much to explore.
The Captain and Maria really should have been 1.
"The Best Things Happen While You're Dancing" from "White Christmas" is one of my favorites.
Thank you for including Strictly Ballroom. I love that movie! But I think I would have put Maria and the Captain at number 1.
A very difficult list to make ... but Fred and Ginger should be No. 1. They were absolutely legendary for a reason. Fred Astaire was amazing with quite a few of his partners.
Ive always loved the dance scene from Romancing the Stone! 💃
yes. that's a great one!
STRICTLY BALLROOM!!! Now there's a reference you don't see everyday!
One of my favorites!
Sound of Music without a doubt. If you are dancing and you forget there is even a floor beneath you....
You can't forget "Dancing" from White Christmas!
Alejandro and Elena’s dance alone makes The Mask of Zorro worth watching for me. 🤩

I think it's on RUclips dance scene with Robert Redford & Kristin Scott Thomas in 'The Horse Whisperer' Very short scene but wow! My 80 yr old Mom said " I think that's the sexiest thing I've ever seen in a movie"😂❤
Strictly Ballroom is a great film!
the Sound of Music and Dirty Dancing are a must... I missed the dance scene from Silver Lining Playbook
The dance scene in Emma (Romola Garai and Johnny Lee Miller) is my favorite. Also love Maria and Captain Von Trapp
Fred and Ginger are the best!
Soooo.we couldnt include... Shall we Dance from the King and I? Also the Honorable Mentions are better than a lot on this list.
Antonio Banderas and Catherine Zeta-Jones' scene as Alejandro and Elena dancing lives rent free in my head 😂
The intense dance between Ralph Fiennes and Kristin Scott Thomas in "The English Patient" should definitely be on this list. Just an absolutely excruciating level of laser-ficused desire.
I MELT when I watch Robert Redford and Kristin Scott Thomas dance in The Horse Wisperer.
"Dirty Dancing" is a classic
The Mask Of Zorro is one of my favourite movies of all time❤❤❤ and that dance is pure fire🔥🔥
LOVE Strictly Ballroom! Would have liked to have seen Shall we dance from The King and I, and possibly one of the My Fair Lady sequences on the list, at least in honorable mentions, but still a solid list.
Kim Novak and William Holden set "Picnic"
and film on fire like no couple before or since. So glad it was included!
The tango in Scent of a Woman
I'm surprised that tango scene was not on the list. Not passion but perfect.
I know it is only a tv series, but Niles & Daphne's dance when she was wearing that gorgeous red dress was mesmerizing! ❤
Yes one of my favourite shows
I totally totally agree
the ball scene from enchanted should be on this list
Even though a few were missing this list was actually good. Thumbs up.
Streisand and Redford dancing at their college prom shows real chemistry.
Cinderella (2015) has my one of my favorite on-screen dances ever! Minimal talking, but obvious chemistry! Plus that dress, when it swishes… 😍
How is White Christmas not on here? Danny Kay and Vera Ellen?!?
Very good list. Now I have to go back and watch the movies again.
Bob Thaves said Ginger Rogers did everything Fred Astaire did, backwards in heels. Love this quote!
8:07 The sound of music is going to be on ABC this Sunday night 😊
Thanks.
True or not, Ginger Rogers is reported to have said "I did everything Fred Astaire did, but backwards and in high heels."
For me, a waltz from Cinderella, directed by Kennet Branagh:charm, grace and...poetry in pure form.
Fred Astaire and Ginger Rogers in Roberta? Oozing chemistry in the numbers Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and I'll Be Hard to Handle.. 👌
eternalxchannel: you're the only person I've known that appreciated "I'll be Hard to Handle." It never gets old.
@KdubsSupergma-eb8mo Oh? I thought it was a fan favorite. A fun, light-hearted number that feels almost like a rehearsal. I love it! It's definitely in my top 5.
I want to LIVE in any of these movie dance scenes FOR REAL!!!!!!!
You Were Meant For Me from Singing in the Rain still takes my breath away so beautiful ❤❤❤❤❤
Singing in the Rain, Sound of Music, Shall We Dance, Dirty Dancing-Swazi & Grey amazing. So many excellent dance scenes that are electric. Schwarzenegger excellent dancer also or possibly just attraction to style.
Good selection - the finale in Shall We Dance with Richard Gere and Susan Sarandon is also special.
You forgot Robert & Giselle from Enchanted 😒 best ever! 🕺💃🏼
You missed Rhett and Scarlett dancing the Virginia Reel.
Oh yes. The chemistry in that was amazing
A list of top 10 dances with best chemistry and no mention of the iconic ‘tale as old as time’ dance from beauty and the beast ( animated version)? Blasphemy!
Rhett Butler and Scarlett O’Hara’s waltz at the Atlanta bazaar.
Fred and Ginger only get an honorable mention......really!
Tony & Maria, “Dance at the Gym”, West Side Story and all the dance scenes in Dirty Dancing: Havana Nights
The Sound of Music is a gem, the top one !
Have you tried the Prokofiev rehearsal in « The Turning Point » starring Mikhail Baryshnikov and Leslie Browne ?
Greetings from France 🇫🇷
You completely missed Brigadoon, with the Heather on the HIll, and Gene and Cyd's dance after the wedding. Steam heat!!
What about the tango in True Lies? Or Mr and Mrs Smith? I feel like the list should be longer.
Just rewatched the Sound of Music. That dance scene was so innocently hot. I certainly don’t remember that as a child! 🤣🤣 I would’ve added the waltz in Crimson Peak between Tom Hiddleston and Mia Wasikowska.

Watching the Grease screen: Candies sandals should make a comeback. I had so many pairs back in the day.
I JUST thought, ‘If Elizabeth and Darcy are not in the list, I will throw this phone at a wall.’ 😂
The dance scene with Kiera Nightly in Anna Karenina is my favourite, together with the Sound of Music. Chef's kiss.
The Horse Whisperer beyond a doubt
Dirty Dancing is my favorite!
