    For those of you wondering if the Betaflight 4.4 HD OSD is available on the Goggles V2 with O3 air unit, I haven't been able to get it working There is a new firmware for the V2 on the O3 side (07 firmware) which states "Added support for Betaflight 4.4 HD OSD when used with DJI O3 Air Unit." However, it does NOT work for me with the O3. I checked the goggles menu as well and it doesn't have this same HD Canvas mode option. Also, note that your bindings still get forgotten when changing modes on the V2, which is a ridiculous issue from the original release of the O3 back in November and still unfixed.

    • @K1200S08
      @K1200S08 Год назад +1

      Works fine for me. MAKE SURE your goggles are in O3 mode, not DJI Digital FPV System mode. Then go to Settings->Display and you'll be able to switch Canvas from Normal to HD. Several members on DJI FPV Forum already confirmed it's working for them as well

    • @K1200S08
      @K1200S08 Год назад

      Stupid question, but anyway - did you switch your goggles V2 to DJI O3 mode before installing the latest firmware? Because if you were in DJI Digital FPV System mode the update wouldn't work

      Figured this out... It is being caused by a compatibility issue with the latest V2 firmware (07 firmware) and the WTFOS. When you first install the 07 firmware, the HD Canvas option is available under Display. However, WTFOS no longer works when you switch to the DJI Digital FPV system. The WTFOS website gives you a health check warning, when you resolve the health check, WTFOS starts working but the HD Canvas option disappears.

    For INAV 6.0 users, I can confirm this update "somewhat" works. The problem is that on the INAV 6.0 configurator OSD section, if you have BF43COMPAT selected as your Video Format, the Preview screen where you move OSD elements around is still small. One workaround is to select DJIWTF as your Video Format and you'll get a bigger Preview screen. It's not exactly a perfect 1:1 match but close enough. Hopefully the good old INAV devs update the configurator soon to support this. 🙂
    Update: I forgot to mention I'm using the original DJI Air Unit (the big one) for my INAV 6.0 drone. I only have one DJI O3 unit but it's on Betaflight 4.4 build, haven't tried the DJI O3 on an INAV build yet.

    Great video, I’m always afraid of updating DJI products due to the looming remote ID requirements. I feel they will sneakily slip in some code that bricks the goggles and requires you to tether it. The new Goggles integra most likely has a remote id module built into them yet they haven’t stated that on the website.

    Any idea why my Goggles 2 cannot record OSD from Betaflight (on 4.4 and 4.5 for 2 of my drones)? OSD recording is important for troubleshooting or recovering aircraft in event of issue.

      That's a feature of the Goggles 2 and Goggles Integra due to it's higher processing power (can re-encode the video in real time). You can't do it with the Goggles v2 unfortunately. There is a way to do it after the fact on the computer with the Goggles v2 and Vista using WTFOS though.

      Check madstech review of the goggles integra (posted a couple hours ago). Sounds like though smaller fov, he thinks they are a big upgrade optically. He says fov difference is like running goggles 2 at 90% scale for comparison. But you don’t get that double lens refraction blurring on the edges. I might give them a try because the optics on these goggles 2 for me are really awful.

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  Год назад

      @@KirbyMiller Thanks for the note! I started watching already, it sounds like they ultimately made the blurry edges better by reducing the FOV. Good for people with really blurry edges but bad for those who are able to get good edge to edge clarity on the Goggles 2.

    • @KirbyMiller
      @KirbyMiller Год назад

      @@Mangorille Hello, just to follow up on this... I just received my Goggles Integra and had a chance to test them this weekend. I have a lot of respect for MadsTech but I totally disagree with him about these goggles. First, yes the FoV is quite noticeably smaller (though that doesn't bother me quite as much as I expected). However, the optics in the Integra are absolutely in no way an improvement over the optics of the Goggles 2. There is a noticeable reflection on the diopter inserts, and this is even with changing out the foam with some custom mods to make sure there is zero light leak whatsoever. It seems like it's actually the OLED screens reflecting / refracting off the corrective inserts. I don't get this with the goggles 2 adjustable diopter (note this is exactly the opposite of what Madstech said). If it matters, I used the -2 lenses in both eyes, and my goggles 2 are adjusted very close to -2 also. I don't normally wear glasses though possibly I should. I have also found that I do not like the fixed battery on the headband. For me it's not more comfortable, or convenient and doesn't help to balance the goggles at all. I definitely prefer a separate battery and then I have the choice to mount it on the strap or not (usually not). Also I can easily carry multiple batteries. I thought I would like the knob to tighten the strap on the Integra, but I don't think it adds anything (if you are the only person using your goggles it doesn't matter). I have an Avata, but I never fly it, so the built in GPS isn't really a factor for me. Also, minor thing, but with the aftermarket foam and the new SD card location on the Integras, it makes it difficult to get the SD card out without removing the foam also. I have never been able to get my goggles to act like a hard drive (Mac) and transfer video through a USB cable so I always have to remove the card to get the recordings.
      On the plus side though... The joystick controls on the Integras are SOOOO much better than the touch panel on the goggles 2. If you do not wear glasses at all and will not use the included corrective lenses, you could probably (at least in theory) achieve better optics in the Integra because even with the diopter set to 0 on the goggles 2 you are still looking through an additional piece of glass. On the Integra you could just use it as is with no extra glass.
      Overall, for me I absolutely prefer the Goggles 2 and I will be contacting DJI to see if it's possible to return the Integras. It was worth a try, but for most people I couldn't recommend them.

    • @Mangorille
      @Mangorille  Год назад +2

      @@KirbyMiller Thanks for sharing, I was thinking of swapping my Goggles 2 for the Integra after seeing MadTech's video but now I'm thinking twice. I was looking up the FOV of the various goggles and was surprised to see that the FOV of the Goggles 2 is actually a tad bit less than the V2! I suspect if you fly them back to back, you'll miss the extra FOV. It sucks that we don't have that perfect goggles yet and that is why I still have both the V2 and Goggles 2. I just want a V2 with the 1080p OLED and the more powerful processor so that I can capture the OSD on the video feed. Not asking for much right ;)

      @@mathy378 Hmm, the fact that you don't get any OSD could be a wiring issue or a betaflight software issue. However, when you say that you can't do the software update without having a LIPO connected makes me think something is up with the wiring. Can you do a software update when the O3 cable is disconnected?

      @@Mangorille I put the gray (o3 tx) to the rx of the fc and the white (o3 rx) to the tx fc, right where it works with the vista and wtfos 🤷‍♂️
      I flashed several times my fc in 4.3 and 4.4 to try out this. Also I tried on another fc, same serial than a vista again, bf 4.3, all cmd set in cli.
      I can't see the device in DJI assistant without lipo plugged. So I can't upgrade it, I did it with lipo to last version of o3 available, 1.02(?) If I remember well

      The 07 firmware for the V2 says "Added support for Betaflight 4.4 HD OSD when used with DJI O3 Air Unit." However, it does NOT work for me on the O3. I checked the menu as well and it doesn't have this same HD Canvas mode option. Also, note that your bindings still get forgotten when changing modes on the V2.
