- Super Mario Maker 2 is finally here, and we got a lot of new stuff to toy around with. Slopes, Snake Blocks, Boom Boom, Two State Blocks and many other items got added to the game. But are those new Super Mario Maker 2 items any good? How useful and well implemented are the new items really? Which Super Mario Maker 2 item is the best new addition, and which one adds the least to the game? Well today we are going to finally answer these eternal questions, because today we are going to review all the new Super Mario Maker 2 items!

The sun has a second use he didn't mention. Hold your finger on it and you can turn it into a moon, which changes your course to night. This has more effect on certain states then you may think.

On icicles, I will add this: they instantly drop if Mario stands on them. This may not seem powerful, but this makes them much better than donut blocks if you need unstable ground, as you cannot just infinitely jump. They also trigger stuff, meaning we won’t need those tiny hallways with noteblocks. They can create one-way platforming challenges. The possibilities are endless. I love these so much

There are stages that requires you to collect some amount of coins, this one we can't do it, but each stage gives you an amount of coins as reward, can we complete story mode by using only reward coins? I'm not sure because I don't know how much cost to complete the castle, and I don't know if the missions rewards can do it.
@@DarkKyugara well, you can go into every stage, and let luigi win for you. instant reward coins, 0 coins collected. as for the math of it, i dont know.

I have 2 favorite new editions! One is the on/off switch! A cool use I had for them was having one automatically triggered by a bobomb when you enter the sub world, so it completely changes the enemies you encounter when you return to the main world.
I’m surprised you didn’t mention this at allC but the other favorite edition of mine is the night theme! Personally, my favorite night theme is the one for airship levels, where all enemies and entities use their underwater behavior!
And though it’s not my #1 favorite edition, I love how smooth everything can be made by slopes!

I only disagree with the Banzai Bill rank. I know they aren't complex, but they offer a surface to bounce off of that doesn't require remapping other blocks and assets, since they don't interact with them. They also have a lot of character, specifically in the Mario World style. They're a classic Kaizo item, and they can be big and scary, which can't be said for most other items.

@@storm_fling1062 Ceave have stated the discussion is excluding 3D world and that's they very only game style for banzai bill to shine. Every other game style's banzai bill is really just big enemy that refuse to interact with anything so it's a solid 1 fuzzy.

The sun is the moon. I don't think he actually tested it fully. It's activated the same way you make other enemies bigger.

@@dewydewback1376 Yes, but I want to see somebody figure out the minimum number of times you need to press the R button in that game.
Plus, I knew that before gamechamp's video (which I have seen), because there's a speedrun category dedicated to it, and I've watched AverageTrey (Sunshine speedrunner) attempt the category.
I've got a challenge idea, how much contact with water can we avoid in Super Mario Sunshine. Rules, what's touching water, basically what that is, you know that water can refill Fludd, if Fludd can be refilled where you are, you are touching water, so you want to avoid as much of that as possible. Now because of this, we cannot refill, except for the points of the game where we are forced to touch water, so there's that. When you are forced to touch water, it will measured in seconds of how long you touched water in general, so when you forced to touch water, you want to get out as fast as possible.
Are items in claws global ground? If so, we could do some crazy stuff.
Yeah, anything placed in a claw stays in the claw even if the area isn't onscreen.
That means we could make contraption where if Mario gets near a claw it will drop a goomba onto non global ground and later in the level you could trigger a P switch that would kill the goomba if he was still spawned and the goomba could drop a key.
In general, any time items are 'grouped' (stacked, etc.) they will despawn together, so if one of those items never despawns (claw, item on tracks, etc.) then the other one won't despawn either. (Except for rare and weird edge cases like the "giant gap", see his video on that)
But if the claw drops the item then the item wouldn’t be on global ground anymore. Couldn’t we find a use for that? Say we need a key and it is in a goomba in a claw and if you got near the claw it would drop the goomba on ground blocks. But if you don’t you can throw a shell across platforms on tracks to kill the goomba.

Personally I'm really loving the Superball Flower for the SMB1 levels, people have done some cool stuff with it so far. Plus, Super Mario Land music, I mean come on
The only drawback is that the superballs don't activate on/off switches.

I really like it, especially since I'm a Mario Land geek. They're also good for puzzles and tennis levels!
@@UltraLuigi2401 Unfortunaly they dont but we can recreate we just need to put a spring over a brick and a shell on the right of the brick then the on /off switch to the right of the shell and the block with the color that is not activated on the left of the on/off switch, and when the P-Switch activates the spring would fall hit the shell the shell would hit the on/off switch and the block would block it (its easier to understand if you see)
To be honest, Claws are my favorite items. You can do a lot with them and they're so much fun. 5/5. *NINJIS*

Great vid as always, Ceave. I agree with the Sun's 2 rating, but I'd also mention that on the night stage the Moon acts differently, which is something. My bro made a stage called Don't Touch The Moon--you have to avoid it until the end of the stage, when it clears the enemies blocking the goal for you.

I, too, was pretty disappointed with how limited the Twisters were. Of all the things I would expect something like the Twister to do, sticking to tracks would be the first.

So.
Icicles can:
- Damage every enemy except Buzzy Beetles, Boos and Lava Bubbles. (7 Icicles to defeat Bowser)
- Hide behind Bill Blasters
- Hide behind Lava and Poison
- Trigger POW Blocks, P Switches, and ON/OFF Switches
- Break Brick Blocks
- Trigger ? Blocks and Note Blocks
- Can use Music Blocks like most items
- Act as Global Ground
- Get destroyed by Shellmets
- Drop contraptions if Mario is near.
Also, the Icicles drop if they are 2 blocks away from Mario if he is facing towards them, and 1 block away if he is facing the other side.
Sometimes, you can be objectively objective, actually.
Ceave my favourite is the ice block and night castle theme

Most of his stuff is from Nintendo games on Nintendo consoles, those don’t have 60 fps
