I hope you do lots more of these 15 min paintings. I watched this three times, printed out a reference then went to work. I published the result on Facebook and the reactions have been second to none. So far, I had only painted leaves & fire, both from stencils. When I started this, I did so with total abandon - no more hangups and the result is 'Fantastic', 'Awesome', etc. You make it look so easy and, it wasn't difficult at all. Seeing how easily you did the moon beams sold me on giving it a try. Thank you for improving my artwork so effortlessly.
first actual painting ive tried, aside from doodling and practice, great mix of techniques to get my confidence up and learn to loosen up a bit, thank you.
I bought a kit to airbrush models on a whim and i just thought I'd have a look at what else you could do, so whis is the first video ive ever watched. boom...im hooked and already a fan...thaks for opening this new world of art to me, its blown me a way a bit...
182 thousand views and how many people are trying to duplicate it I’ve tried a couple of times and although nowhere near as nice as the masters, I have to say that it came out pretty decent. Thanks for sharing your skills. I thoroughly enjoy watching and learning.
AMAZING, I'm going to try to do it following your steps... but, how do you change color so fast? and how do you clean so fast? can you teach your technique? Thank you
Wow. I've been searching for something like this. Thank you so much. I'm a newbe here. Just learning. I am a Finish Sprayer by trade, and an artist by hobby, so I felt the airbrush would fit into some of my artistic talents. Anyone can grab a sprayer and use stencils....but you really demonstrated an amazing "freehand." Thank you for your time and tips. It's appreciated!
When I was little and I used to go to the Fair in Warwick , I was always struck by the airbrushing on all the rides....that's what got me into it. Thanks for your videos x
I'm a photo realist person; Have always used graphite, conte' and ink. I've been using airbrush for a short time now to bring photorealism into ultra realism. You sir, are phenomenal. Just phenomenal. Anyone who thinks you work too slowly is obviously an amateur or a cartoonist that lacks any sense of precision and patience. They simply do not have what it takes to push these tools including the airbrush to it's limits of function and form. The fact that you're running at what sounds like 120+psi is testament to your control over this medium. Again, phenomenal. I call you Apex!
Hi Mick Thanks so much for sharing how you create these amazing pictures. I paint and draw in all types of mediums and after watching your video on the Nun you have inspired me to try this type of art. Look forward to seeing your next tutorial. Thanks again Mick.
Beautiful picture and brilliant tutorial, it is hard to believe that it took only 15 minutes. I had my first airbrush delivered yesterday and I have a lot of work to do and many hours of practice to get to this level.
Douglas Taylor thank you, best of luck with it, practice your strokes for 10-15 mins (dots, lines and blends) then paint something, the more you chock up those paintings the more you will improve versus just lines and dots...etc.., 👍👍👍
Thank you, Mick, I m a complete novice this is the second video I've watched of yours. im was blown away made it look so clear feels like a breath of fresh air to my learning Thank you
Mick I really like this painting. Think you for sharing your incredible experience. P.S the white noise created by your ventilation system is very relaxing 😁👍
THANKS Mick! Useful tutorial. I really enjoyed Ultimate Beginner Course in Evesham and I hope to see you again in the next Custom Airbrushing Class. MartiN :D
Wao,, you are amazing guy!... It's great and useful,,, I've been practicing and i have my works which are admired by anyone... Thanks... Go ahead with this profitable lessons
This is great! I watched the smoke tutorial as well... will you be posting any more of the simple 15-20 minute projects? The others are amazing but way too hard for me
What horsepower compressor and what moisture trap do you use? I have two Iwata, a Paashe and a Binks airbrushes. Hands down the Iwata are the best but I believe I could do better with my compressor and moisture trap. If you have time I would greatly appreciate your input. I also want to thank you for sharing. You have taught me much already and I just recently found you on RUclips. I look forward to learning more.
Love the feeling you have created with the background, you have great control with the brush. I will be buying my first airbrush soon, could you recommend a versatile airbrush? I will be experimenting with different paints and surfaces.
zigzag duck there are a couple i would recommend depending on your budget Sparmax max 3 or max 4, great airbrush for the money and around the £50 mark. (Used in this video) Iwata eclipse hp-cs. One the the best built airbrushes on the market (imo) almost bulletproof. Around £130-£140 mark. Thanks Mick
Hi, thanks for the beautiful video and the beautiful drawing ... sorry but I don't understand English very well ... please can you explain to me why until about 2:10 the color is white and then as if by magic it becomes black too if it is evident that you do not add color (from 2:10 to 2:33)? I used google translate so I hope my request is understandable. Thanks so much for the video!
Hi what's that stencil you use for trees in distance did you make that yourself ? I'm just starting out with airbrush I do paintings but thought it would be good to learn to airbrush thanks love how easy you make it look 👍👍👍👍👍👍
Hi Mick; What do you use to clean your stencils? I find that if I am cleaning a stencil with small groves, the edges want to lift up. Do you clean your stencils and if so, what's the best method? Thanks PS: Love your videos.. Hope there will be more from you...
Blackgold67 hiya mate, if im honest i very rarely clean my stencils, but most of the ones i use tend to be freehand shields, made from mylar. these will take a good bit of thinners or gunwash without any damage, im very lucky that i did a lot of signwriting when i was younger so im pretty nifty with a scalpel blade so i tend to cut my own if i need any. i suppose the best answer i can give you is, if they are bought stencils from lets say Artool they will be solvent proof so will take thinners to clean them, try to work away from any pointy bits as not to curl them (bit like wiping a blade if that makes sense) ive got a few more videos coming up, which i hope everyone get some value from, thanks again and happy painting mick

I see the tree branches and moon created a washed out skull that the ghostly figure is walking towards. The nose area is under the scythe and jaw area is by sgiwdow of ghostly and tree
I love this tutorial and plan to try a painting like this. However, I don't know what the sound is in the background but it's freaking me out. I had to turn the sound off.
Wow. This looks amazing. I've been painting miniatures with an airbrush for years... I want to try something like this... Where do I get started? Are you using a canvas? What size needle? What kind of paint (miniature paint is about 4$ for about 15ml and on such a big surface....)?
Wish you had shown how to do the highlights on the scythe and on top of the hood, as well as "sharpen/focussing" the scythe, especially at the tip. Same with the lat branches you added. They look very sharp. Did you have to clean them up with white after painting the original branch? Man this stuffs amazing. I legitimately never thought people were using airbrushes for things like this 😅
Awesome man. Just got a new airbrush after not having one for years and stumbled on your video. How did you make that stencil, just cut out small random shapes with a hobby knife?
Projector Gaming its a texture stencil from artool, but if you split a scotchbrite or kitchen scourer in half you can get a pretty similar effect, thanks Mick
Rich Cornwall im sure i was using createx illustration paints, but I have my own cleaner which really breaks the paint down fast and generally i dont bother with a good clean just flush out the cup and spray through

Amazing work. Love it, pal!!
This is amazing but the bright white in the left tree is annoying. I think it needs abit more black to kind of fade it .

Yeah it irritates me everytime i see it 😁😁😁

Thanks Mick for sharing your gift.
Good work. Do you use oil paint? What do you use?
Wow that’s wicked
That's so nice
What tip do you recommend using brand or model?
Hi im looking to have ago at air brushing myself but unsure what is a good starting platform, any tips on what is a good starter kit please?

Good stuff! Thx!
Great work! though, the place ment of the shadow is wrong. look at the location of the moon beam. :)
Can this same technique be used on tshirts?
Nice video. Thanks. What brand/type of paints do you use?
Createx illustration
Is this a canvas painted black or a wood board painted black or something else?

The reapers shadow is going in the wrong direction
Yup, annoys me everytime i look at it 😁
I thought the same thing...but on the other hand, does the reaper have to obey laws such as which way his shadow should go?
Yeah fucks with my OCD
way cool
Freaking sick!! I love this😭🙌🏽😍
brilliant, very inspirational !!!
can you list the items you use please.
What kind of material is the black board...is just like cork board? Card board material? Thx!
The surface is di-bond or signboard, powdercoated aluminium sheet used by sign companies for exterior signs
