I came across your channel when researching airbrushing models. After watching several of your videos, I've concluded that even if you have the best engineered and most expensive airbrush in the world, if you don't have the soul and skills of an artist you may as well stick bristles onto it and go paint fences. Respect! :)
i haft to comment what a great teaching video. I see comments from 2 years ago and im just learning how with same video. You sir are a true Artist that will be teaching people for lifetimes with your videos. Thank you
Brings back memories of a workstation at the Newcastle refinery where the bloody things used to fester, they always gave the new chap the nasty workstation as a joke esp us poms who had no idea the living death lurking inside dark crevices, between the incredible heat, bloody redbacks and some hoary work practices going on there it surprises me no one actually dies...
Fantastic artwork matey, my wife cousin moved to Australia about 20 years ago. She makes insanely detailed dolls houses for a living, definitely a country i want to visit one day 😁🤘👍
The way you share your knowledge is AMAZING!! It's a real pleasure to watch your tutorials!! Learning much more from your videos than any other course. If you make a course to Europe I'll be the there for sure!🙏🙏🙏
This is a great project and kudos to the owner to the owner for the children's hands! If you have the opportunity, would love to see how you would do lettering as if it were embossed or stamped into metal. Looking forward to your tutorials and projects.
We call them Black Widows in the US. Just FYI :) Could you do a video on painting a rifle with digital camouflage? I've seen it elsewhere, but not explained well. You do such a good job, I'd like to learn it from you.
That is out of this world love the contrast another amazing video thanks for the awesome content you always provide I just bought myself a black sheet of aluminium so I can try something similar 😀
Your works are always astonishing. I have a question. On this art job I can see that there is a vent in your desk behind the helmet. When you work with water colors on canvas or paper, do you need some kind of aspiration or do you use a mask? Thank you
Another great video! I especially liked this style of webbing. It was definitely the right choice for these spiders. I think the technique could also be used in pieces that include water as it looked sort of like light reflecting of moving water. Lastly... background music? I don't recall that in previous videos. I liked it!
Thank you for your kind words and so glad you enjoyed the vid and yes, background music has only been rolling out on the last few vids but it’s definitely here to stay so glad you enjoyed it 👍🏻
I have kinda the same but huge on my shoulder, a great big redback or widow, bigger than my hand and the working, undershading etc makes it look very real, sadly the red has faded a bit to pink.
I've just ordered a new airbrush kit. I'm an oldschool biomechanical/tribal/whatever ya need type of artists, and not having an airbrush for the last 10+ years is 1 of the biggest mistake I've made. I owned n honed my skills years ago so it's time to make up for it. Maybe I can send u some pieces oncs I've got it all set up, love to hear ur feedback. Cheers, love ya work mate.🍺😎
Thank you, No I usually outsource my clear coat but due to current Covid restrictions in Australia I cleared this one myself I used a LPH-80 iwata mini spray gun with a 0.8mm setup, hope that helps. 👍
Thank you and glad you loved the vid and art, I go a little crazy with all the details as well, I was happy with the end result I did consider that but due to the size of them and the ‘busyness’ of the webs I felt that may have compromised on the spiders impact 👍🏻🕷
The difference between the female Red Back & the male is the female has a red stripe & the male Red Back has a slightly orange stripe. The male Red Back isn't as harmful as the female. As the male Red Back will only cause a lot of inflamed swelling to his bit area.
Oh yeah nice one Carsten, way to make me feel itchy and unsettled. Hate spiders I’d burn that helmet. Hahaha. That’s a compliment on how good they looked. Awesome job mate. Now put it under the sink where it belongs
Thank you so much glad you enjoyed it, lol yep they are evil little buggers , the customer has a tree removal business called Redback hence the spiders 🕷
At this stage it’s only available throughout Australia as I partnered with Iwata Australia on this design quite a few years ago. Feel free to email me direct at : airbrushasylum@me.com and I can help anyone out with international shipping until I arrange for the item to be available worldwide. Also, I do have more stock coming as at the time of writing this I only have one template left in stock 😳🕷👍🏻
There are links in the description to the product on our website (Australia wise shipping only) that said, if you want one happy to ship it internationally to you just send me a email to : airbrushasylum@me.com and we can work it out 👍🏻

Really nice work but that spider web is a mess and hardly realistic. I'd urge you to examine a few larger webs to see that they are actually much like a relaxed fish net and the lines are hardly random.
Thank you appreciate the comment but in this case I have to say google red back spider webs and you will see that they definitely are messy and not uniformed, I agree in general webbing is more like a fish net and has some repetitive structure to it, but the redback spider webs are totally 'one of a kind' and trust me I have seen this first hand as every now and then I discover one lurking in my studio. thanks again and glad you enjoyed the video nonetheless. 👍
@@AirbrushAsylum U-huh, learned something new, and also I stand corrected! I, honestly thought this was an imaginary work, and didn't realize it was based on an actual type of spider like redback which I knew nothing about (clearly). I appreciate the heads-up! Again, brilliant work!

WOW! The finished artwork is outstanding
Thank you SO much 🙏🏻👍🏻
Fabulous artwork, and a terrific tutorial as to needing lites to show darks and darks to show lites, and an on the fly repair thrown in there
Lmaoo forget the painting... the knowledge in redback spiders is through the roof! I felt like watching NatGeo

No we don't. Widows red is on the bottom.
This is probably the most American comment here 🤣
"Love your work, do you do guns?
That was amazing I’ve just started doing a little air brushing just on models at the moment.
Mean as bro. I'm going to watch everything you've got. Thank you
Trabalho incrível, impressionante, a qualidade extrema de sua arte. Qual verniz você usou para o acabamento final? Obrigado desde já.

Nice work but are the hands not back to front ?
Thats fricken sick 👍

Love the redbacks but is it just me or should at least of few of the spider legs actually touch webs or am I to detail OCD?

@@AirbrushAsylum I tried to get on website but was unsuccesful. Can you email me the information on how to order Thank You
I hate spiders but that looks bomb 👍
Hate to tell you that Black Widows only have their hourglass marking on the bottom side. That's why people get bit, they don't see the danger.
Redback.........NOT a Black Widow. Not the same.
Australian Redback spider. Pretty sure it's native to us.
What paint did u use
IS THAT A WATER BASE PAINT?
Yes it’s Trident Waterbased airbrush colours with two pack clear to finish (the clear is urethane) 👍🏻
Wow shit hot mate👍
Thanks bro 🕷👍🏻 glad you liked it and hope you are well 👍🏻
Those so-called redback spiders are in fact Black Widow spiders.
wow 😯
Where can I get that template
