    What amazes me is after about 18:50 when you start adding the shading around the holes they jump off the canvas and come to life. I really appreciate the fixes as I’d get discouraged and give up rather than do a simple fix.
    Also beginners watching need to notice that as you’re doing the smoke you keep the air on continually so you don’t get spitting and tip dry. I picked that up from one of your previous videos
    Thx

      Those annoying spittings when ya press the air on the guns and you are right about that. I just realized last night that I should keep the air flowing to prevent that, but I truly wish airbrush companies would prevent that in the first place.

    May I ask,? I cannot recall ever seeing a bullet hole “entry “recreation, I imagine due to basically just be a hole. The two videos of yours I have seen are exit holes. I suppose it’s just not that big of deal. But have you ever thought of doing an entry hole and an exit hole side by side? What would the differences be?
    Thank you

    • @airassault76
      @airassault76 2 года назад +1

      The entry hole would be just that: a hole. The forward impact of a bullet on any surface will push the material out the back. So yes, these are exit holes.

You can slowly hone your craft while learning more and more about mixing and technique ..Its really not hard at all to just do basic painting. Bullet holes and flames are for advanced painters. Theres many other things you can do with an airbrush though...I started with noi help at all. I just learned by having fun and trial and error..I learn something new just about every time I pull it out and start a project

    I love your lesson here, and it gives me ideas to do other things. Now, when ya did shadows around the bullet holes, I didn't really get it, I was like, "wait, aren't bullet holes indented?". Then when I saw you do one, it made sense, the metal parts (or paint particles of the metals) sticking out, so I'm thinking these bullet holes are from bullets shot from the other side, thus causing the metal or paint parts sticking out on that side (the exit side). So, actually, you can make bullet holes cause from either side (enter and exit side)... (yes, I Googled metal bullet holes lol). Keep up the great work, mate, I like watching your lessons!

      If you’re referring to the "torn" area directly around the hole, that's broken paint peeled back, not metal. And yes, the metal would indeed peel and split if the bullets hit at an angle, and the holes could be quite elongated, not perfectly round.

      I use Trident airbrush colours which you can safely clearcoat over, you can also get Createx colors or use house of Kolor urethanes if you don’t want to use waterbased all are safe to either acrylic or two pack clear. Hope that helps 👍🏻
      In regards to shadows maybe add a little dark grey around the bullet hole which blends into black to allow for shading .

    As with all art, consider the physics behind what you are representing. Whether it is a bridge, or a road into the distance, or a bullet hole...realistic representation is everything. If the blue field here was a 'painted piece of plywood'...then this MIGHT be a better representation of a 'bullet hole' than into, say, the sheet metal of a car door. If you look at a 'real photo', you find that when shot, painted metal rolls inward almost (but not quite) symmetrically, so that the 'bullet hole' (black) is circular...but the silver is ALSO 'almost circular' (the area where 'loss of car paint' would occur as a result of 'impact shock')...whereas glass would 'spiderweb', plywood would splinter, etc. From proper angles of 'diminishing roads into desert, to holes, bridge roadway angles, etc., this is one of the greatest errors that distinguish 'rough art' from 'high representations' of real world items. Ask yourself...have you ever seen such holes on a car, that you are in shock, to where you drive up, just to see 'has that really been shot?', finding it to be nothing more than an 'online sticker fakery'? It's because your mind realizes 'real world physics' tells your mind 'this isn't how it really breaks when damaged'...versus almost 'realistic'.
    I love the channel...but this example was a pretty-strong miss...

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  4 года назад +1

      Cheap brushes don’t have the same quality parts so that could be the issue 🤔 but generally if it is allowing paint to come out when only air is pressed then it could be because there is some dried paint in the fluid nozzle which is stopping the needle from sealing therefore allowing paint to escape , hope that helps 👍🏻🤞🏻

    Only thing is people need to understand the dynamics of a bullet entry and exiting entry never has blast out only exit holes entry goes inward not out

      With an airbrush your honor I didn't realize it was a gun until it went off (keep that for your defence) ;-)

    When you switch to colors like the white to add highlights, or any dark to light color at all really. do you just switch the colors in the cup entirely or just add a few drops of a brighter color and mix it up?
    I've only really been doing basecoats so far and haven't done any art like this yet.

    I’m going to enroll in your online. I use an eclipse Hp cs and I’ve had real trouble getting my brush to cover the background like you do. It’s always patchy and over covered or not when I finish. What pressure are you using for that treatment and how thin is your paint? Do you prime your canvas with gesso? I need to learn an even coverage!

    you said use different sized holes??? you do know the holes are the same size from a gun no matter how many shots, right? unless you have 4 different people with 4 different caliber weapons firing only one shot each.

      Apparently you’ve never seen combat or any form of violence. No one carries the exact same weapon even inside of a unit. Stick to call of duty

      @evinnice3321 I'm guessing you haven't? I saved, us army. We mostly ALL had the same weapon, side arm, etc. Depending on your duties. An M16 was the choice of reps, and they all took the same parts, same ammo. Maybe you play too many games.

      @evinnice3321 I was married and the father of my first child when my boots were in the sand in Desert Storm. MOST of each squadron carried the same weapons. Unless your tech training covered other specialties. You're thinking like a COD person that each person has a different wep or variant. 90% of Russias forces carry AK, most of China's are equipped with the same. Most of USA, except as a specialized unit, sniper or heavy arms, used the same weapons.
