    great videos. Thanks. I have a question. Is it possible to paint oil paintings with an airbrush where the main medium is linseed oil? The pigment should be very transparent to have the right viscosity. What parameters should the airbrush and compressor have for this type of work? thanks a lot

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  Год назад

      You can run pretty much anything through your airbrush as long as it’s a ‘milky’ consistency. Just keep in mind if using oils then make sure to clean your airbrush thoroughly with turpentine, so none of the oil dries within your airbrush . That said there are loads of quality ready to use acrylic paints available for airbrushing which will make it much easier for you, I would stick with a brush for your oils and use acrylic for your airbrushing 😉👍🏻

    I just picked up an airbrush and compressor this past week. Did you have to prepare the canvas any special way? im gonna pick up a couple small canvas from my 100 yen shop, but ill have to paint em black. Looks like a really fun exercise to get me started.

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  2 года назад +1

      You can 'gesso' your canvas but I usually just unwrap them and start painting, that way its up to you if you would like to add gesso for a smoother finish, I actually prefer the texture .👍

    Thank you very very much for your videos. I find a problem using Createx Illustration Colors - White, I use a Takumi Micron and when spraying the w color at the lowest or higuer psi presure, the amount of dropped paint it is not as opaque than the white you show from Trident (and reduced) Colors. The same history I have had trying your Lighting and Clouds video. The result for me, it is not as sharp and nice than you do because I need to do much more passes over the same white line that I had done and of course for your experience and skills versus mine. Because I can't have Trident at Spain, do you think that there is some workarround? Thank you very much in advance. And thank you again for your videos

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  Год назад +1

      Hi there thanks for your comment and glad you enjoy my vids . I don’t use the Createx illustration colors white much however I would suggest getting the Createx wicked white which will definitely opaque faster and give you the coverage you are looking for . Also, you may wish to get in contact with trident as I am pretty sure they have a European distributor so you should be able to get some paint if you are in Spain 👍🏻

    When you purchase a new airbrush should you take it apart and clean it before the firstt use?

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  2 года назад +1

      Generally I don't, but I'm sure it also depends on the brand. With iwata and gsi creos they are perfect straight out of the box, that said if you prefer to give it a clean then it wouldn't hurt.👍

  • @3218675309

    I’m guessing that attempting to add some white specs to the outer perimeter field is a bad idea? Real world, stars wouldn’t be visible for an eclipse.

    • @AirbrushAsylum
      @AirbrushAsylum  2 года назад

      You definitely could if you prefer, I would then mask where the eclipse is going first to protect that area from star spatters, then follow along with the tutorial.
