Mick Gordon for Doom 2016 soundtrack, and he actually got it. Bear did an absolutely amazing job on GOW OST, but I encourage you to look at how music works in Doom, it's like the ultimate way of doing music in a video game
"To grieve deeply is to have loved fully. Open your heart. To the world as you have opened it to me, and you will find every reason to keep living in it." ~ Faye
The fact that this much effort and talent was put into the soundtrack of a video game? Absolutely incredible. Video games are truly raising the bar in the entertainment world. Hollywood needs to catch up.
So do the Grammy's. The Grammy's should be about what's good, not what had the biggest marketing budget. Some of the stuff that won Grammy's last time around was auto-tuned crap.
I attended that concert, both Eivør Pálsdóttir and Einar Selvik were excellent, but after watching this video I must also praise the film, sound and editing team, excellent work guys 👌
Eivør is genuinely one of the best singers I’ve ever heard. I knew of her before she got involved with God of War and was so excited when they involved her. She’s got such an interesting musical background. She’s done everything from folk to jazz and everything in between. Her solo work is great.
I am a son who lost his mother. The pain is immense and stays with you forever. This brilliant piece of music elevate those feelings and touches your soul. For anyone in pain after your loved ones. Stay strong, it does get better and time heals wounds better than anything. And the ones we loved stay with us forever. ❤
I remember playing GoW for the first time. It was something else. The narrative has such a great rhythm like I've never experienced before in a video game before. I'm sure you folks understand what I mean. Anyway, when I heard this song for the first time, I felt shivers down my spine. I still get that. A true masterpiece. Thank you Eivør, Royal Danish Orchestra, and Bear!
Bro same when I played god of war for the first time I was so satisfied everytime I came home from school I would play god of war the graphics the gore it was just perfect
Having lost my dad a few months ago, this song hits me way differently and yet, I cant seem to stop listening to it. As if it echoes my ever eternal pain. I love it for so many reasons. This is beyond awesome.
Best of the best. The Danish National Symphony has been part of our night routine for two years now. The whole family loves it especially our 3 yr old, she's a Tuva fan.
Always a pleasure to watch the performances of the Danish National Symphony Orchestra. Absolutely professional musicians with the perfect conducting and the rich sound. A shame I cannot experience it live due to being in a different country. Hope to see more recordings of the concerts! Thank you so much for publishing them! ❤
Love how Einar Selvik, a god tier singer/musician, is just sitting in the backdrop quietly. Kind of like a secret weapon just incase things need to get a million times more epic.
Who else could them to this ridiculous level of quality? Every note she sings is perfect. It's not just her ranges, but the quality of every note she sings. It's amazing.
This soundtrack will never not give me chills. It's so haunting and beautiful and uplifting yet devastating. One of my all time favorites. Ashes is my favorite song from 2018 God of War Soundtrack.
I'd highly recommend it. There are a lot of themes like love and changing for the better beneath the overall plot. Im usually not one for the aggressive bloodshed type of games, but God of War is probably my favorite series now
IT'S INCREDIBLE, SHE AND THE ORCHESTRA TRANSMIT THE ESSENCE OF GOD OF WAR AND CONNECTS THE ENTIRE SAGA, AND IT DOESN'T NEED ANY LANGUAGE OR ANYTHING, WHENEVER I LISTEN TO IT I GET A KNOT IN MY THROAT.
There are many soundtracks that I love, I am always on the lookout for a good soundtrack from a movie, show, or game. But this one will rank as my top favorite. I listen to this song almost every day.
Holy fuck, the speed at which I clicked this video when I saw God of War, Eivør and the Danish National Symphony Orchestra in the same title 😫 Once again, you fail to disappoint me. Bravo! Hälsningar från Sverige 🇸🇪❤🇩🇰🇫🇴
The ending to this track my god it is absolutely incredible!!!!😭😭 when I continue to restart it back to that part where the vocals come in that’s when you know it’s an amazing track
love to see Eivør. She is a unique one. I personally prefer farewell to faye version of this song but this version is definitely the right choice for an orchestral performance. Well done!
I cannot put in english how this made me feel. 🙏✨🌅 The vibrational frequency of this is truly glorious, best I can say, doesnt even come close to how connected i felt to everyone and everything during that performance 💜🦋🌈🌅✨
The tale of kratos is a dark and sad tale, a man who lost everything not once but twice, a man who would make sure his son would be ready to go alone when he was gone, but in the end he was able to what everyone even himself thought was impossible.. he got his happy ending and that truly brings tears to my eyes
The feeling behind this particular scene in the game is amazing. Kratos being called from beyond and all but accepting his fate and he's done with this life. Its only Boy who drags him back.
Almost can hear the "Goodbye Faye" and "I love you mom", astonishing.
😂 Along with most of the lyrics from the trailer.
That's actually the track "the summit"
Just makes me cry - brings back so many amazing memories of one of the most memorable games ever made!
@@SantinoS_ they mean the trailer that had a version of this song
🥺🥲🥲🥲🥲
bear mcreary is nominated for a grammy over this soundtrack and i dont know anyone who i ever thought more deserving.
Mick Gordon for Doom 2016 soundtrack, and he actually got it. Bear did an absolutely amazing job on GOW OST, but I encourage you to look at how music works in Doom, it's like the ultimate way of doing music in a video game
Bear is probably my favorite composer of all time. Ever since Battlestar Galactica, which is one of the most genius soundtracks I've listened to.
Gareth Coker does some top tier shit as well, Ori and the Blind Forest/Will of the Wisps. Or Darksiders Genesis. Absolutely adore those OSTs
He should get it, the job he has done is amazing. This game made my eyes wet a few times. Such a masterpiece, also thanks to the music in big way!
@@_Lumiere_ Also the whole 11 seasons of TWD iirc.

The amount of deep quotes in this game is insane… my favorite one is “It is the nature of the thing that matters, not its form”
I am so happy you guys brought Eivør to perform this... THANK YOU DANISH ORCHESTRA!!!!!

She is good but one of the best singer? ever heard of Freddie Mercury? now THAT is the best singer in history!
If only Sissel Kyrkjebo would perform this…..

It was.
Eivør sitting next to Einar on those chairs just made them 10x more awesome. Real Jarl and Frilla/Frue vibes.

Absolutely incredible by everyone but Eivør's vocals left me shattered into a million pieces.
Me too.
A most moving piece. Expertly performed. DNSO really captures the moment. Thank you DNSO.
Eivør is one of the best voices I’ve ever heard
Best I've ever heard, not even a contest. There are many voices and singers I love, but I wouldn't run a competition against Eivor. She is phenomenal.
Eivor is a Goddess. The voice of some great games / tv shows
03:03 could be the punchline theme for every possible movie/show/game goosebumps!!!
The first few minutes of this song make me feel emotions I havent felt since I was a child
Bravo! Must be the best orchestra in the world.

I just realized she is the same person who sings in the Last Kingdom's soundtrack. She is amazing!
Love how Einar Selvik, a god tier singer/musician, is just sitting in the backdrop quietly. Kind of like a secret weapon just incase things need to get a million times more epic.
Because they both are that hidden weapon for different purpose just waiting to be used.
He performed in this concert also. Eivor is also a weapon, don't worry about that.
Rarely have I felt that a song awakens something very deep in me, as if my soul recognized the feelings within this music.
God of war is such an amazing game series by far one of the greatest things that Sony, PlayStation, Santa Monica has ever created
Without words. Thank you❤
Excellent strings...🎻

And of course Eivor... Delicious!🤩
