The phase 1 engines are the best for tuning - especially the 1.9 turbo which makes about 200 bhp stock
Also the BTCC S40 was a phase 1, they are very good looking cars
@@sigha2b2t Yeah I agree. I think 300hp is fairly achievable in the 1.9t. What would be incredibly cool would be a 4 cyl T6 swap with the paddle shifters but I can only dream. What is more of a reality is rods, microsquirt and a TD05 16G.
@@willriley1619 T5 swap from a V70 with a 6 speed from a Ford focus ST would be my ideal setup 😂
@@sigha2b2t The thought of a gutted out 1st generation S40 gets me excited. Would probably be 2500lbs or less lol

When it comes to the 5-cyl and V10, I think I have a clinical addiction to their sounds. Can't get enough of those major-thirds 🏎💨🎵
The major third is probably the most favored and used musical interval by musicians...this explains why we love 5/10 cylinders sounds

Everything from the key in the ignition to that unique sound of Volvo interior panels, took me back to all the Swedish machines my dad and I owned when I was in high school.
I had a 240 coupe that would do hellacious burnouts…………..as long as the slick concrete at the car wash was wet when I popped the clutch. 😂

As an owner of a V70R this soundtrack follows me everywhere i go 😃 it’s completely different to everything else on the roads.

Within the first 30 seconds of this video, you (As the viewer) get why we are, or become enthusiasts. From the keys dangling(When vehicles still had keys), to the hand, moving the stick shift knob back and forth(As a "Standard" transmission driver, you get accustomed to making that motion before turning on the vehicle. To assure yourself, that it's in Neutral, and the vehicle won't buck while trying to start), Something that is slowly but surely LOST, and will/we'll never get back...
The rest?? Well, the rest is pure ASMR....

For engines with single-digit cylinders, nothing beats a 5cyl sound. NOTHING.
