These videos are phenomenally put together, Jacob is a great host and I love the series - hope to see more on the 850. It's been a pleasure seeing Jacob and the 850 in person up here in New England!
While the 850 wasn't the fastest in the Championship it made the most iconic photos of the BTCC at the time and all of Volvo's following success was over shadowed by the "estate car". Keep up the great work, I hope to see it one day.
The m56 from the na 2 liter has shorter final drive ratio might be an option. Probably not sold in the us but plenty avilable in the scrap yards in Sweden 🇸🇪
I love the sound of five-cylinder engines, there's something much more than sensory, I'm from Brazil, here we don't have many Volvos, but we have a few five-cylinder Audi TT, Jetta MK5 and my favorite Fiat Marea.
Nice sound. I would like to see the video on the throttle body set up. Gears sound spread out far enough to have fun with especially if you only shift 3 to 4 times on the Glen. Congratulations on the bulid. My son has an s80 but i really was thinking of a v70 wagon for me but that will be year or so for now.
Thanks for the kind words, Jeff! You can find the full process of retrofitting the BMW S65 throttle bodies to our I5 in Season 2, Episode 5 of "The 850 Project!"
You guys have inspired me I have always wanted to build a car and I'm into Volvo 240s and I would like to build one with that five cylinder instead of where most people will swap the six cylinder into them. Especially now that you guys have developed that amazing ITB setup. I've always wanted to have a five-cylinder with ITBs in my Volvo.
Is there a video on the mini attending an event similar to this? I have a street legal time attack r53s too so that would be right up my alley! Also love The video and i hope it turns into something bigger where you make a video for each destination event. I dream of doing grid life but I really need to start saving for a house. So maybe someday in 8 years or i can try
You can find Ben's R56 on his Instagram account at @benm_r56 ! But...we have something coming very, very soon on this channel that may be right up your alley. Think Mini Coopers, Time Attack, and GRIDLIFE...but about as affordable as it gets! Stay tuned over the next couple of weeks.
Would love to see the potential of this project track car with a carbon roof, polycarbonate to replace all side glass, including rear hatch. The carbon roof alone would make a dramatic reduction to the centre of gravity, not to mention the huge amount in weight saving potential, given the size of it being an estate.
Please modify the windscreen wiper linkage to make te wiper stand upright and make almost 180° left and right across the window. Inwant to see e85 or e98 high conpression big cams and everything in the engine lightweight. But a supercharger is interesting aswell, i am kinda afraid though that the wining sound will harm the glorious sound that that five banger makes through that awesome exhaust..
😩 i need itbs on my 2.5l 2014 mazda 3 hatch 184 hp, 185 torque stock fwd and it has some AMAZING handling even in the rain i feel like ive got full control on slippery corners 3200-3300 lbs im sure this feels incredibly similar in terms of steering and throttle response im absolutely jealous
Jimmiles33 is correct! You can drive the FCP Euro Proving Grounds at Lime Rock Park. We did almost all of the testing and tuning for "The 850 Project" there for seasons 1 and 2.
I love the sound of a Volvo 5 cilinder in the morning. Greetings from a proud owner of a 2002 S60 T5 from the Netherlands.
We absolutely need another season
We are mulling over what to do... thoughts?
Needs to be lower😊

We appreciate the love @srw2010 , its been a fun journey for all involved!

We hope you have the chance to come out and see it as well JamesYoung! Smiles Per Mile is high on the measurable success of the 850
Не правда, 850 давала фору всем,все зависило от самого гонщика,всеми любимые BMW она также побеждала.
Nice work. Regards from Sweden 👍💪
Love from Sweden means a lot!
Would love to see another season on this!
THE SOUNDS.
Keep it strictly NA. More, please.
NA 4 Life... 5 life*
They need to cut the head like the original btcc 850 and they need to figure out what exhaust it used cuz it sounds INSANNNEEE
ruclips.net/video/ojJ1jHFHfuE/видео.htmlsi=5TGiEXyXdVF-sfCz
NA sounds so much better.
even if it's not super fast, it's still such a cool car to watch.
I think for the future, maybe a shorter diff ratio?

@@nilsutt are you sure? Mine's a 2 liter but the gears seem as long as a 2.5 or t-5.
love the intake. reminds me of the twr design, back in the good old btcc days. that I5 used to howl under wot.
Good old BTCC days was certainly the goal!
Awesome content guys! I just found out about this on Larry Chen's channel and now I need more of it.

I miss my 850R wagon! Thief put an end to her by crashing it into a fire hydrant...
Nice sound.

Need a video on that blue civic @6:26
Awesome
CAMS CAMS CAMS CAMS (you told us you wanted us to let you know what we wanted to see)
Best looking car there if you ask me!
We tend to agree but hey maybe a little bias ;)
@@fcpeuro All biases aside, still the best-looking car....I mean look at it! Wow!
My first love!
Also you gotta keep it NA! It’s too cool.
We tend to agree Connor😁

Not wrong about that!

Bigger final drive
Much Higher compression piston set
These 2 upgrade will awaken its inner beast
I need a double clutch , LSD and btcc head and high comp piston
All right looks like it's loading up and working fine The video that is.
fewf...
C70 T-5 build next huh
🤔
850 the Fit eater

Not to mention a crazy compression ratio of 13 if i wanna drop in the mx5 turbo kit one day since its the same 2.5 skyactiv
Assuming you are running a M56H with the standard 4.00 final drive 7000RPM in third gear is 105 MPH
Needs to be tucking rim to be accurate! 😅
You're not wrong - we'd love to tub the car!
@@fcpeuroi say do it
i like this because my first experience with forza horizon 4 was modding the sh*t out of one of these volvos
Forza in real life!
Oh yes, that's snoring needs to be addressed along with the crapple device.
Only watched a few minutes so far.. where are your proving grounds?
Limerock park I think.
