The recall is for the cam belt lads, the 1.2 turbos Citroen/DS and Peugeot due to being wet belts they can break apart. Look up Citroen HFC recall it will explain more.

Just an idea on the interference on the mic. Could it be a cheap 12 volt USB adapter? I found that one cut out the dab radio signal in my van.

Here in France, the car is insured, not the driver, so if someone nicks it and hits someone, everyone is covered. People here still go for third party only, which is strange as fully comprehensive is not much dearer. It's also handy for those occasions when you might need to drive someone home, or someone needs to borrow your car.

Hi Rob, I do vehicle recovery for a living and was pulled in by vosa in December. They told me the law changed in November to all 4 wheels need straps now regardless of winch being connected. Luckily I only got a warning
The brakes will still be noisey, even after replacing, due to the oversized discs they fit to DS3's.
Check under the door mirrors. We've had 3 DS3s, and due to the mirror weight the door skin flexes and the paint pops off.

I have a ds3 and have had it 6 months, i have had gear box issues, which the dealer sorted for me. The fuse blow on the screen wash, door hinge needed sorting, boot raiser needed changing, On New Years eve my front spring broke after going down a pot hole. I have been luck in that it hasnt costs me to have these repairs down the dealer took the cost. They are nice cars, I would say there noise from outside takes a lot of getting used to. The parts seems cheap enough, no road tax. I have a diesel one in black. At least we know the two experts on these cars

You do not hang about with these jobs! You said you had an hour and a half to wait so we'll do the bits we can and wait! WAIT?Most people would take an hour and half just to put a new wishbone on! My local took/charged me for two hours to fit a top mount, as I ain't got the tools and it's a crap job. You would have done it in 20 minutes by the look of it👍👍

I`ve lost count of the number of ppl with this winters cough & cold ; 2 weeks later & I`ve still got the cough. local tesco ran out of the usual cold remedies !!
One of my other RUclips repairers also sorts out the suspension on his cars on his recovery truck so he can drive them off. So your approach is also used by others! Nice to see another project on the go! 👍
What a nice one, to start the year. There is a bit more work to be done, but with you two on the job, unless something really horrid, turns up it should now be a screwdriver and spanner job to take it to the paint shop. What a horrid way to end the old owner's celebration, I feel for them. New brakes and disks should silence the only remaining issue. The problem of two possible parts for a vehicle caught out my windscreen supplier, the correct one is the one on back order, of course. I just hope it will not take too long to turn up, currently it is an elastic 6 weeks, I am counting.
DS is the newer ‘Luxury’ wing of Citroen, similar to Lexus being the luxury wing of Toyota. That’s why there’s no Citroen badges. Brand within a brand

Got to say guys been waiting for you to come back! Happy new year. I did my first car vertical the other day. I was after a cheap run around and say one, I asked the seller if there was mot advisories before I came to see the car but never got an answer. I ran the check and a list as long my arm came up mot advisories, except the same advisories came up over two years and the same faults. Going further into the report is was a cat N and before that a cat C, now I've nothing against that, it was the fact it wasn't declared so to me that was a bit of a red flag.
Funny, spent Christmas on the Devon coast, car was sat all week and you wouldn't believe the state of the discs when I came to drive home, felt like the brakes were seized on, salt air as you say! Excellent video guys, cheers and happy New Year!

Happy New Year guys and glad you are back. I feel for Chris as I have suffered similarly but now on the mend. If this is a 1.2 'wet belt' engine, check for a manufacturer recall on the belt. My 17-plate 2008 is in being done now. If you decide to do the belt yourselves, that will interest me of course. Cheers, guys.

I'm noticing a pattern here with car owner's brothers driving and wrecking their siblings'cars.
Yeh, it’s their cousins sisters brother’s uncles auntie’s step brother, who has six fingers and seven toes car! Which was worth diddly squat but in today’s inflated second hand prices he received, after auction costs $0.02 cents and went to the local bar and shot the sheriff who was his wife’s sister’s brother’s uncle!

Rob you so need to get a fluffy for that microphone and you've got a really heavy buzz on your audio. As a suggestion, try disabling the WIFI connection before you start recording. But that's another nice little earner and 1,500 squid is going to get that done for 2.5k tops.

Just wanted to suggest investing in a pair of dollies that you place under the front wheels, this will help when witching the vehicle up onto your truck. If your ramps are not solid then just carry a long plank to compensate for the wheel that may be damaged.

HD Plastic Strip that any tyre will sit on, has curled up front so the Tyre or Disc doesn't Run off the Front of it , a Horizontal J shape.

Be careful with insurance. The days of automatic doc (driving other cars) cover are long gone, fully comp or not. Check your policy.
Never had car ins. that allowed me to drive another car with fully comp insurance. I think a lot of people driving around using other people's cars are not aware of this.

Happy new year chaps. Is there a cheap usb charger in the DS? I had my Volvo back to the dealer because the Dab signal was appalling and FM had a whine. Turned out to be the usb charger I had bought from the services, unplugged it and job done. I have heard about Led bulb conversions doing the same in the cars and even Led house lights wreaking havoc.
