it has such a unique isolated feel to it. such a beautiful sense of loneliness and solidarity. I think this is the music that gives the game such a unique feel and what brought me and the open world closer together
It’s a feeling of isolation and kind of how everyone in the gang feels as well. Civilization is expanding by the day, but the gang will always have that mindset that separates them from society. The first Dutch mission in chapter 3 is when he says that it’s their [the gang’s] responsibility to reform the country. That’s where things turned sour. It’s them against the world.

You're literally my hero for uploading this - I've seen so many versions *without* the guitar, but all I wanted to hear was the damn guitar, and, finally, someone did it!
bridgefour73 Yeah the ambient tracks actually add/remove elements depending on whether it's day/night, or if you are on horseback. It might even change slightly if you are standing still vs walking/running, but I'm not sure to what extent. I assume not everyone may have picked up on this yet. I figured that since they are already sparse to begin with, I'd just focus on the day and night versions of each complete track (on horseback + running).
When I hear this track I feel like it's a slow sense of inevitability. It really conveys Arthur's plight for how hard he will try to keep the gang together but the pieces keep tumbling down and hopelessness takes its part.

I think, as Arthur is riding his horse, he contemplates over the fact that, no matter how hard he tries to keep the gang together, they will all fall and tbere's he can do to stop it.

Something about this gives me chills.
Wow, I remember my days when I first started the game
I always listen to this to this soundtrack when ever I visit Dartmoor UK, the scenery there does resemble the Heartlands in the game
This specific ost is engraved into my brain always making me feel lonely and uneasy
After over 300 hours of free roam this tune is still so special to me. Gonna be very difficult for there to be a game that tops Red Dead Redemption 2
"We are outlaws in a world that doesn't want us anymore."-Arthur Morgan.
"We are more ghosts than people."-Arthur Morgan.
"When Dutch started fallin' apart, it hit Javier harder than any of us. He went crazy. It was like the one thing he'd ever believed in turned out to be a fraud."-John Marston.
"Our time has passed, John."-Dutch van der Linde.
"The life we lived was over and when we was living it it didn't mean nothin' anyway. It was just an excuse and we all knew."-John Marston.
"When I'm gone, they will find another monster to justify their wages."-Dutch van der Linde.
"Escuella was always a torn man. A cynic who desperately wanted to be a romantic. Javier would have died fightin' for what he believed in. He had a lot of passion, but no love. Although he admired Dutch, of course, but then we all did."-John Marston.
"There is no such thing as civilized. Only man, who has lost himself to greed and found only appetites."-Dutch van der Linde.
"People don't change. They just become more what they really are."-Rains Fall.
"Revenge is a fool's game."-Arthur Morgan.
"Just be one person or another, but don't try to be two people at once."-Arthur Morgan.
"I gave you all I had."-Arthur Morgan.
I had to close my eyes and listen .... now I can't stop crying 😥
West Elizabeth has the best theme of all the states, for me the most iconic
this best ambience song in gaming me fucking love it
Masz rację Ksiek !
When I listen to this I'm so glad to do it while riding my horse as it feels so peaceful especially while as Arthur. It feels so peaceful back then
As someone who lives in the half barren part of Arizona, this is what I hear whenever I step outside.
Please add this to your RDR2 Ambient Tracks playlist
ok
I miss playing online with my friends... We always used to camp at Big Valley to hunt animals for trader business... I miss Cripps and my dog.. I miss both of my friends but they are offline now... Good old days. Haven’t played since December 2020
One of my favorite things about red dead was the world I would lose myself in the world for hours this is the song that would always come on and I would always say this game is great and so I kept saying it and realized it’s the greatest game of all time
This game's soundtrack is ridiculously good and powerful.
This theme makes me feel fuzzy on the inside :3
It really does
Timeless piece.
0:23 is beautiful
pov: its the year 2047 and you forgot about RDR2 but you suddenly remembered it, played it for the last time and this song starts playing while free roaming..
Damn that’s deep😔
heard this online today while i was slowly riding from armadillo back to blackwater and somethin about it just hit for some reason. it's really a beautifully sad piece.
I think, as Arthur is riding his horse, he contemplates over the fact that, no matter how hard he tries to keep the gang together, they will all fall and tbere's he can do to stop it.
At the end, the Flying Dutchman took them all....
I love riding around to this as John peacefully just finishing the game
Depends on the time of day
Or area
My experience with Arthur Morgan was more intense when I played him during the freeroam sessions through the regions of Ambarino. It established Arthur Morgan's most enduring image: that of the displaced loner who's uncomfortable with the very civilization he is helping tot establish and preserve.
