Great video Josh . I use similar methods myself . Large campers can be washed in a similar fashion as well, just with the use of ladders . I use Large diameter pool noodles to wrap the contact points on my ladders to prevent any damage to the camper sides. 😉
Water here on Omaha,NE is around 500-700 TDS. I buy 5 gallon jugs and rinse with it and use it solely with premixing my Rinseless wash. A true game changer
Wow yeah that’s really high and that’s a great idea to work with that! My home is half city and half well water. City is about 400 but my well water won’t even register cause it’s really bad haha
Wow, what a great video, brother !! I am a full-time professional detailer. I love these videos. Can you make a video on what polishes work great on the sun while providing the greatest cut and polish. Because we need that tools to work for us not us work for the tools lol
Awesome video. Actually washed my mom’s Tundra yesterday, it was hit by sprinklers for over a week straight and just sits in the sun ☀️ and it’s been 95-100 degrees every day. Needless to say, the paint looked so bad and felt terrible. I hit it with Lift for a pre wash, AP for bugs and grime, DIY Incredible Suds for contact wash, iron remover and DIY Waster Spot remover. It was a la or of love but still tons of water spots left. It does look 10xs better but still lots of spots. I also couldn’t really get to the roof so the roof looks really bad and that’s where you can see the comparison. Going to try giving it a full decontamination wash an again this weekend with Koch Chemie Active and CarPro Descale. Also going to hit with with a clay towel and ordering the Autofiber Mitt On A Stick. Hopefully better results. But I’m sure a polish will probably be needed. Question about the deionizer. Do you run/use it the whole time with the foam cannons and all the rinsing. Or just at the end with the final rinse?
Thanks Josh, great tips. I’m going to order a Mitt on a Stick because it would make washing my 4x4 Tundra so much easier!! BTW, love your 2nd generation Tundra in this video 👍👍
I have to agree with Mitt on the Stick Pro being amazing. I bought it and a few extra covers originally, but I liked it so much I bought a second one for the dreadnought drying cover. I also bought an extension for each so now there is more than enough length. Not cheap but awesome anyway.
I totally agree! My water at my house is even higher than the San Diego average and I’m at about 400ppm. My di resin doesn’t last as long cause it has to filter so much but I wouldn’t go without it!
Josh, love your videos, learning a lot. BUT "make sure your paint is cool to the touch." I live in Texas. Our paint might be cool to the touch 2 months out of the year. Maybe. Any workarounds for working on hot sunny days?! Will de-ionized work best for hot environments?

quick question if mixing Maguire apc green color with mr pink... apart for not blowing myself up..😂 anything else catastrophic happens or using/mixing apc with car wash is a good idea? 😊
What soaps would you use on super crusty RV's and campers? I have been using Lift from Carpro as my pre wash, then I'll rinse with a pressure washer up close to blast off any crud I can. Next, if there is still some junk built up, I will either use P&S Brake Buster or Malco Fast Shot. Brake Buster is not quite as strong, so I'll go for that more often. Fast shot is not recommended for paint so if worked very quickly, I have not had any issues. It is SUPER super strong and takes maybe 5-10 seconds of dwell time to penetrate so I only use that on the gnarliest crud. After these harsher chemicals, I'll then go to Chemical guys Blacklight soap to neutralize the ph level and add gloss for the contact wash.
In the market for di system. Customers water range from 42 to 65 ppm. Most of my work is out in the direct sun. I have seen both filtered cartridges and just filled with resin. Don't know which is best . Any recommendations ?
I would not definitely use extension to clean my truck for contact wash. Pre-wash not always cleans all and well.. if something left then you're most like will scratch the paint. I personally use prewash, and then 2 bucket method. Takes longer but I don't worry about scratching the paint
Josh, where's the link to the (MaxShine mesh scrub head for glass) at the 8:00 mark of your video? It's not in the description and unable to find on their website. I have a huge F-150 and already have the Mitt-On-A-Stick, so that mit head (for the windshield) would be a GREAT help! Please respond and thanks for the great info.
Josh, Active Foam or Adam''s Mega Foam for the prewash and why? We've been using Adam's with good results but before trying the AF, some insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks!
@@imjoshv Ah, so the ph in the AF is what differs between that and Mega Foam. Agreed on the slickness of the Mega Foam. Even washing black vehicles in direct sun above 80°F there's no issues with water spots after rinsing without a DI system. We'll give the AF a test drive based on your recommendation, Josh. Thanks again and the mitt on a stick is the bees knees for pickup truck roofs and windows. Cheers!
40 is really good without filtration. Water spots technically can happen with anything above about 20. But if you’re not having issues I wouldn’t worry about it. The god news is if you do decide to get a di system, the resin will last a long time since it doesn’t have to filter out as much tds. For me it’s goes much faster because I’m at 400ppm at my house
I’ve bought a lot of stuff you recommend. But that 50 foot blue hose is a piece of sh-t!!!! It constantly coils back!! Too much memory!!!!! I’d never recommend.👎
Odd, Uberflex has been great for last 3-years for me. Do you have a swivel joint on the pressure gun? That makes a big difference as you move around the vehicle. My experience only
@@MyGuyKirby yes , I bought a handheld gun with a swivel just like recommended. I’ll lay the hose out on the driveway to let the sun soften it. But it still wants to coil up. It doesn’t kink, but the coiling is annoying.
I purchased the green one (matches 😂 my washer) but the coiling is annoying but it's a lot better than the others I have tried... I just walk it straight out before walking around the truck and then it doesn't coil up on me...
@@KatrinaTrys I know what you mean Katrina. I’ll lay mine out straight in the driveway and let the sun soften it up before I use it. And it still coils back up. It doesn’t kink like a garden hose, but the coiling is aggravating!
Extremely helpful, thanks for this. I may finally spring for the mitt on a stick - dragging a step stool back and forth has gotten old. 😂
Extremely helpful thank you from Canada
I have a Mitt on a stick and it was the best purchase I’ve made in a long time love it
Glad to hear! I love mine!!
Great video Josh . I use similar methods myself . Large campers can be washed in a similar fashion as well, just with the use of ladders . I use Large diameter pool noodles to wrap the contact points on my ladders to prevent any damage to the camper sides. 😉
I’m going to invest in the mitt on a stick. I’ve finally gotten tired of moving the step stool two dozen times per wash.
The mit on a stick is also great for detailers with physical disabilities like being in a wheelchair
Mitt on a Stick Pro is amazing. Most the vehicles I wash are large, I can’t live without that thing

Josh, great video dude! Been following your channel since it first started and been happy since!
Super helpful video Josh, having an Expedition and a lifted Silverado makes wash days a chore, maybe not so much now! Ordering a mitt on a stick!

I'm definitely getting that Mitt on a stick I hate cleaning the roof of my suv.

Water spots are the worst. We get them here in my area and my water reads at 140. DI tank is a life saver.

I have the Mitt on a Stick but, haven't used it yet. Will be a time saver when it comes time to wash the SUV.
It definitely is a time saver, have been using mine for a month now and it's way better then to be moving a ladder around lol
In Autoality, I can get the Mitt on the stick heavily discounted. Been eyeing it for a while and might be my next ourchas
The incredistick with a clay mitt head would be a pretty cool option if they dont already have it
The mitt on a stick version even has a twist loop drying head option!
Really like this video. Great info. Thanks Josh.

If you wait for Adams Polishes to be for sale, you can get their deionizer (basic one) for cheaper. They sell theirs from On the Go.
