The tiny marks/swirls in the paint that you can't see without special lighting and a microscope, I never would have noticed or even cared. This is what PRIDE in one's work looks like. This is premium work. I respect that.

I used to work at the Mercedes assembly plant in Vance, Alabama and I can definitely say that’s from the manufacturer. On the final line a lot of “paint correction” is done. Needless to say a little haze tends to get left on cars/trucks from time to time.

I got the same coating 9h on my 2021 Black Laramie Southwest Edition! I FREAKING LOVE IT!! The biggest thing I love the most though is I got the guys to do a emblem debadge SUPER slick with just the right amount of chrome (door handles, RAM letters on the grill , the fin grill [not sure proper term] tow hooks, Rams head on the tailgate and the tailpipes!)

Awesome video, I know a guy at a Dealership paint shop and he said they 'go over' every new car with spot polishing because they get abrasions and scuffs during transportation to the dealership. If it's literally brand new, your probably seeing where the dealership 'paint corrected' it.

absolutely true, paint straight out of factory is complete trash. Im shocked that people are paying 80-90k for crap like this. I was going to purchase a truck and then when i looked at the inventory i was shocked. People need to either pass on trucks or point this stuff out and completely low ball the dealers. This is unacceptable.
Maybe the buffer marks are from the factory robots planting the box on the frame ? Seemed to be in same spot on both sides? Keep up the good videos 🤟

Beautiful! I bought a black ‘24 2500 Denali Ultimate almost two weeks ago that I need to go over. It’s my first black vehicle. I wanted to do a full correction and coating before driving it but haven’t had the time yet. It pisses me off every time I walk past it.
I use to work at a car dealership in Australia and I was a car detailer and when I detailed stuff I wouldn’t use any tools that were electric I used just my hands and I start out by vacuuming the inside first and cleaning the inside of the vehicle then I would go to the outside of the vehicle and pre-wash it with water then put on the soap then would turn around and scrub it down with a microfibre pad to get rid of any dirt and then rinsing it off then I’d go along with a Claybar and Claybar it then I’d go along with polish on a pad that was not done by a machine but by hand to polish it before turning around and showing the boss and it was better but took longer to do then using other tool like you show in this video

Wow, great video! This is pretty much the exact truck I have (2019). I wanted to get your thoughts on the anti-rust spray on the underbody of these vehicles. Is it worth it? Its something I've done on my past truck (F150) and it worked out quite well but wasn't sure if its worth it or not.

Those spots look like what a rework/repair from a factory defect found in the paint. They use small 2 inch pads and work in a larger circular pattern sometimes. Its amazing what some chemicals and a 2in pad can change on a paint job.

Your 100% right. I worked in a detail shop and actually had to get outta the business. It was at a high end dealer for a out resourced company, if you give a shit at all you won't make any money, cause they pay per car, after the company made there's, the pay you got was shit for how much time you would want to take on the car. It made u made you have to haul ass. Plus because it was like and assembly line, you had towels being used to much instead of trashing them. Just all bad unless the dealership spends money. You want to buy a new car buy it before it hits the lot and tell them to leave on all the plastic after P.D.I.
My brother lost his sh!t when he went to pick up his GT500 and it had scratches and heavy paint defects. And he's was from the factory or transport because the dealer only had it for 15 minutes before he went to pick it up because he wanted to make sure they did not "clean it". My 3500 H.O. is just like your truck and yes, it was in rough shape(but not as bad as yours with compound marks and heavy scuffing). I did the same process as you(but I did not know about iron decon), ceramic coated and PPF.
This video is awesome man. But what are the best off the shelf soaps and waxes for the common man? I am talking no buffers , nada. I guess the quick and dirty way to get a decent finish on your vehicle.

It's a damn shame that a brand new anything has defects in the paint. These car companies lost their pride back in the late eighties. I have had 7 new vehicles since the 90's and every one of them had paint issues. A couple of them the paint was literally ruin after 3 or 4 years. Oh well I have bought my last new anything with the prices like they are. Good video great explanation, if I wasn't 7 hours from you I would bring you my last new truck I bought.
The biggest reason imho is when manufacturers switched to a water based two stage, the dealers are not paying attention to the supplemental information on paint care when vehicles are new. I know in my owners manual, it says the paint hardens over the course of up to six months and that you are supposed to touchless wash only, and its not supposed to be waxed or ceramic coated during that time. New F350 btw.

Really nice work, wish you were close by. I ordered my new 21 RAM 2500 last November, took delivery in March. My paint had all the same issues (not quit as bad). If you could have seen the dudes in charge of cleaning and the material they were operating with...holy shit. I ALWAYS tell the dealer DO NOT TOUCH MY TRUCK when it comes in...I forget this time. I am curious, did you check your headlights? These idiots managed to scratch the crap out of mine🤬

Just got my 2021 GMC Sierra and it’s black also. I have found those haze spots all around it. I can I get those spots out . Because it bugs the hell out of me knowing that those spots are there l. Any advice would be a life saver.
