@@nick-3808 Here's another trick nobody really mentions... If the sun is out, wait until the sun is shining on 1 side of the car and you'll notice the other side isn't facing the sun. Yea same but nothing is ever wrong with that, just shows you care about your customer car whether there’s a way to wash faster/getting the same results. More you do, more faster you get😅
This would work great on a car that's well maintained with possibly a coating on the wheels and paint that also has a longer lasting tire protectant. Nasty wheels and tires can take 5 minutes a piece. I would definitely change out wash towels or flip to a new side on each panel but to be fair in all of this if you only want efficiency then quality will always suffer but 90% of folk don't care about water drips or a keeping a perfectly clean vehicle all the time. Goo Goo car wash didn't complain but just tore my back windshield washer off twice. And I worry about how driving on that thing affects my car. Thank you so much!
I want to clean my car now. lol. I do a very similar wash when on a time crunch except for one step: Instead of a pre-rinse, I foam it, rinse it, then foam it again to start the contact wash. It doesn't take much more time than a pre-rinse would, and I feel more comfortable removing a lot of the abrasives before taking my towel to the car. I also saw a test of someone foaming a car in two halves, one side without a pre-rinse and the other side with a pre-rinse. It showed the side without the pre-rinse left the paint cleaner after rinsing the foam off. The thought was that the water from the pre-rinse made it more difficult for the foam to attach to the dirt, while without the pre-rinse, the foam quickly encapsulated the dirt and rinsed off cleaner. I guess you could call this a pre-rinse as well but with foam before water. Just wanted to throw that out there. Thought it was pretty interesting.

This strategy is only applicable to either new cars or clients who maintain there cars well. The slow down in any detail usually has to do with the condition of the vehicle. Took your recommendation and got the Greenworks pro 2300 and got basically all the stuff you suggested on this video… I’m so amazed how much quicker a good pressure washer can help with ease of cleaning. I had an old Sunjoe pressure washer before and I have to say the Greenworks Pro is so much better at rinsing off the dirt for the pre wash with so much more water hitting the car than the old sunjoe.

Good luck from the UK, this really works.

Hey Josh… a big fan of all your detailing videos. I find them very informative and easy to follow. I am a newbie to car detailing and am trying to figure out exactly which products you actually use for your business. I have noticed that on all videos you have different types of products you use. Just trying to simplify chemicals with what I actually need to use for different parts of the car.
My Aston MArtin vantage is ceramic coated and easy to wash but takes more than 10 minutes. I clean each wheel and use a barrel brush to clean what you can’t easily see but is surely dirty. After the rinse I remove the nozzle from the hose and flow water over the entire car allowing the surface tension of the water to nearly dry the car, then use a blower to blow the water from the crevices where it hides. Then I use “guzzler” microfiber towels to quickly dry the entire vehicle, Then each wheel and tire gets dried and if need be retreated with tire shine. Finally all windows are washed. 45 minutes is a fast wash for me.
What year is your vantage? Yes i agree my normal wash is typically in the 45min to 1 hour time frame. This video was more to highlight how you can get through it quickly if youre pressed for time.
Hi Can i ask for whats the best method of washing a car in my circumstances Things i will use 1. Only Ph neutral soap ( i wont use high ph prewash car. I use water only or ph neutral soap) 2. I have wash mitts & microfiber towels Methods I'm considering to use A. 1 bucket no grit, multiple microfiber towel B. 1 bucket no grit, multiple wash mitts C. 2 bucket, 1 washmitts D. 1 bucket no grid guard, 1 wash mitts and pressure wash the mits after ever panel
Hey Josh love your videos mang! You were the reason I pulled the trigger on purchasing the Ryobi 1800 psi pressure washer. Question, can you make a video on safety techniques for us newbies when it comes to operating a generator, pressure washer, steam cleaner etc? Please advise thanks. Again love your content!
Do you always use de-ionized water in your van setup? That's worth mentioning if so as it obviously makes drying everything perfectly less of a concern
Yes - if you don't clean the wheels, have any pre wash set up or post wash clean up to account for, a wash can be done in 10 minutes. But for most people doing hand washes they do it because they have higher standards than what you get from an automated wash... which involves properly cleaning, drying and dressing wheels, proper drying with air then detail spray, proper door jabs and glass... etc. And we are all doing this at home which involves set up and clean up. It's an hour to an hour and a half. There are no 10 minute washes! :)
You potentially still could. If it’s a hot day and the water is really hard then it could still happen, but speed helps so getting the majority of the water off quickly would definitely help!
My first job out of high school was detailing trade-ins for a dealership. This was 32 years ago, and even back then, doing a contact wash before making sure all the abrasives were completely removed was an obvious no-no.
I like to do a quick wash like this on my cars in the evening. Pull into the garage and leave it overnight. Then the next day it’s so much easier to dry the jambs, dress the tires and just use a little detail spray to wipe the drips and wheels. Breaking it up takes the chore out of it.
Idk man. Two rags wasn't adequate for my standard (but I don't have clients lined up). You went from right behind the rear wheel to the top and middle of the rear passenger panel. Saved very little time not grabbing more towels at the start
Which drying towel is better? I see you are using the Rag Company Guantlet towel. How does it stack up to the GYEON Silk Dryer EVO towel? I have a large truck for reference and it's black....so trying to prevent microscratches if possible. Will be using leaf blower for most of the water beforehand. Thx
When working on cars that have actually been driving you’re dealing with a lot more than just dust. Bugs on the front end take a lot longer than 10 mins to safely remove. Plus wheels and glass add another 15-20 mins.
I have a detailing business on the side and have been doing it a long time and i like some of his technique, but some sheesh... like dont wash down by the rockers and move up to the top with the same rag. There is road dust and debris that get stuck in the clear coat. This can and will transfer onto your cloth and make micro scratches in the paint. Always wash from the top down, as the bottom is usually the more debris filled. With this car, it was pretty much fully cleaned anyway looks like a bit of water spots on the car nothing to bad. Take your time there is no rush.
Yea you are 100% right. Like you said this car is pretty clean so not much of an issue transferring dirt from lower panels. That is one of the reasons I like to use microfibers instead of a wash mitt as I can just fold the towel to a new clean area and keep going
some people pay me to just rinse the car, foam it up do a quick contact wash , and rinse again ..no drying. I tell them they'll have water spots if they don't dry it so they speed away in the car for a few minutes and then dry the rest themselves. works for me they save 10 15$ and I save time and towels. now I offer it as an option to save them $. sometimes I wash people's cars they pull up to me while I'm detailing another car and I'll foam and pressure wash theirs at the same time. then they drive away without getting out . 25$ in 5 to 10 min lol i don't have to clean door jambs or the glass. they just say do what you can in a couple min. I'm like ok 👍 I love this business
Do you go back and take extra time to clean off bugs/tar that are not removed during the contact wash? The Mercedes looked clean and probably garage kept. What about the minivan that sits outside and gets trashed?
Didnt think this was possible. Even if it was 30 min that would be real good. I can do it about an hour plus but I do a professional job on the wheels first and after when I put on the dressing. I also have a air cannon so when I finish there are zero water retention or swirl marks. I will also put on 3D Bead as necessary and that takes about 30 minutes. But my hats off to him.
Thanks for the comment! To be honest my usual exterior wash and interior vacuum will run 45min to an hour. This was just to highlight what can be done in a pinch! Like you, I usually go around with air to blow out all the crevices, and some other detailed steps that more customers are accustomed to!!
May add a little time but before I hit it with a drying towel I blow off a lot of water from the top down to the bottom with a leaf blower or dog dryer. I've found that if you don't that even with a dedicated great drying towel it seems to get pretty water logged by the end especially with a large car.
I recommend adding a second foam coat and never leaving that first foam on to use in the hand washing of car. Rinse off that first foam coat after 5 minutes to wash away that surface the foam breaks up so it doesn’t act as an abrasive during the hand wash step. After rinse, apply a 2nd foam coat, THEN HAND WASH….
This is how I'm washing my car since a couple of weeks now. This is accelerating the washing process. But washing is not a problem. The pain in the ass is the perfect drying.
So you used the microfibers for this job. what happens to those towels for the rest of the day? Do you take them out of production for the day until you can wash them or will you reuse them on a next job in that same day? Thanks!
I never rinse the car with a pressure washer first, garden hose maybe, but the best way is to foam>dwell>rinse>foam>contact>rinse>dry. If you spray the car with that 1200 psi+ pressure washer with water only? Now you're spreading that dirt and grit across you paint at 1200+ psi!
Was just wondering, I see your not changing microfiber on each panel, or you don’t even go from high to low (whole car wise). Not afraid of micro scratches doing like you do? That’s a great 10 min maintenance car wash!
Thank you for the video. So, when drying the car, using a clean dedicated drying towel , you don't need to use a drying aid for lubrication when drying? I've used quick detailers before, spraying on the panel as I dry, but I've always wondered if this is necessary? ( my car is ceramic coated ).
Excellent video. So many videos out there showing how to get your car looking perfect. This is great. Look I only have 10-15 mins. What can I achieve in that time? 👏
What noozles are you using for the rinse? I just purchased the Greenworks 3000 psi. Are there specific noozles I should use to ensure I don't have too much pressure?
Do you think a leaf blower or air gun would be a little faster to get the water off the car after the final rinse before touching up with your Rag Company Gauntlet towel?
or, you can do basically the same at a carwash that allows handwashing. My wife holds the sprayer as I do the rest. Takes about 3-6 minutes and results are awesome. Great video.
Man, I can’t even get everything set up to start my wash in under 10 minutes😂😂👌👍

What year is your vantage? Yes i agree my normal wash is typically in the 45min to 1 hour time frame. This video was more to highlight how you can get through it quickly if youre pressed for time.
@@imjoshv It’s a 2020, White.
I feel wasjing your car without a foam cannon is a chore and washing your car is therapeutic I love it haha
Hi
Can i ask for whats the best method of washing a car in my circumstances
Things i will use
1. Only Ph neutral soap ( i wont use high ph prewash car. I use water only or ph neutral soap)

Methods I'm considering to use
A. 1 bucket no grit, multiple microfiber towel
B. 1 bucket no grit, multiple wash mitts
C. 2 bucket, 1 washmitts
Do you think that at this speed you would get water spots, if using tap wster? Thanks
You potentially still could. If it’s a hot day and the water is really hard then it could still happen, but speed helps so getting the majority of the water off quickly would definitely help!
hi there, how often would you suggest washing your car like this? once a week?
Yea that’s what I do but you can push longer if you want
I would have thought you would rinse the foam first?? Aren’t you just scrubbing the dirt the foam is holding across the paintwork?
I made a comment prior to reading yours saying essentially the same thing. I use a two coat method. Foam, rinse, refoam, hand wash.
Video start at 2:10
Idk man. Two rags wasn't adequate for my standard (but I don't have clients lined up). You went from right behind the rear wheel to the top and middle of the rear passenger panel. Saved very little time not grabbing more towels at the start
I think been fast is a very underrated topic in detaling
You kill it my friend
Which drying towel is better? I see you are using the Rag Company Guantlet towel. How does it stack up to the GYEON Silk Dryer EVO towel? I have a large truck for reference and it's black....so trying to prevent microscratches if possible. Will be using leaf blower for most of the water beforehand. Thx
I do 5 min washes. No wheel focus. I use a big soft brush on the foam and a Makita leaf blower to dry... Not as good towels but does it for me
When working on cars that have actually been driving you’re dealing with a lot more than just dust. Bugs on the front end take a lot longer than 10 mins to safely remove. Plus wheels and glass add another 15-20 mins.
Why do you need the wash bucket? what purpose does it serve? does it have water and soap or just water?
Soap and water! You soak your towels so that they are saturated with the soap mixture and have plenty of lubrication
I thought about picking up a bottle of that Brake R. Thanks to you I'm a big fan of Their detail spray
Ya gotta get to those door jams and the open the tailgate to get the bumper cover and bottom edge. Only adds another minute.
Agree
And what about washing the wheels and tires and drying them?
@@KosmicHRTRacingTeam He cleaned them at the beginning of the wash.
Just found this video. Great work but I do have a question. Is the wheel cleaner safe for gloss black wheel surfaces?
some people pay me to just rinse the car, foam it up do a quick contact wash , and rinse again ..no drying.
Alguien me podría decir de cuantos litros es el tanque de agua que lleva en su van y usa para la hidrolavadora? Gracias y saludos!!
That's fine but th we y you use regular home water or spotfree water to was it and rise it ? Was it a coated car or not as well.
How long can you have a hose coming off a pressure washer? What diameter are you using?
Thank you for making this video! Can I use a regular garden hose instead of a pressure washer?
Any changes to this when working with matte paint? Would love to see a video showing the quick procedure. Tx and great vid as always!
After rinse, apply a 2nd foam coat, THEN HAND WASH….
does it create more of a shine by adding the 2nd coat?
@@stellarphase I don’t know about more of a shine…. But it limits the debris that you would otherwise be rubbing against the finish.
La manguera está conectado directamente al grifo ?
I like washing my car. I find it fun and relaxing.
Hi, what type of foam are you using?
U provide the water or you use theirs ? How much usually is the charge ?
Would you say the brake R is a better wheel cleaner than Sonax ultimate wheel?
This is how I'm washing my car since a couple of weeks now. This is accelerating the washing process.
But washing is not a problem.
The pain in the ass is the perfect drying.
So you used the microfibers for this job. what happens to those towels for the rest of the day? Do you take them out of production for the day until you can wash them or will you reuse them on a next job in that same day? Thanks!
You are the Gangster of car washing!
That’s a great 10 min maintenance car wash!
nice vid. just wondering your take on the foam rinse foam method? also why use two towels if you dont even flip them?
I have a McLaren- can you use this brake product safely on carbon ceramic brakes I don’t accumulate much dust. Very little
Do you ever use a pre soak/pre wash that you would spray on before foaming?
I don't detail but would a small electric leaf blower help to get rid of most of the water and if so what are your thoughts on using one for drying?
awesome video, I will give this 10-minute wash a try. Do you prefer Tech choice brake R over P&B brake Buster?
Thank you for the video. So, when drying the car, using a clean dedicated drying towel , you don't need to use a drying aid for lubrication when drying? I've used quick detailers before, spraying on the panel as I dry, but I've always wondered if this is necessary? ( my car is ceramic coated ).
20 minutes for me with all the arthritis I have, lol! Great job!
Something I learned when working at a car wash, Always dry the sunny side first because that’s the side that drys fastest leaving less streaks…
Yea that’s good advice! I’m using spot free water so it’s not quite as important but still a good rule to go by!
Excellent video. So many videos out there showing how to get your car looking perfect.
This is great. Look I only have 10-15 mins. What can I achieve in that time? 👏
Whats the dilution ratio you use for the wheel cleaner?
That was quick and thorough.
How many times can you use this drying towel
What noozles are you using for the rinse? I just purchased the Greenworks 3000 psi. Are there specific noozles I should use to ensure I don't have too much pressure?
Do you think a leaf blower or air gun would be a little faster to get the water off the car after the final rinse before touching up with your Rag Company Gauntlet towel?
How do you clean your microfiber after uses ?
What do you use for aluminum alloy wheels? I noticed the prewash spray you used on the wheels you recommended not to use on alloy wheels.
Yessss. Finally someone who wash the way I wash my cars. Hahahah. Simple and fast 🥰
hi, thanks for the video, it was real helpful. I ordered the foam can, but the dry towel is out of stock. Do you have any other good recommendations?
or, you can do basically the same at a carwash that allows handwashing. My wife holds the sprayer as I do the rest. Takes about 3-6 minutes and results are awesome. Great video.
None in my area allow hand washing and only 3/4 of bugs come off without it
Whattt you have help! Haha lucky
I own a small funeral home with black cars it is nice to see someone wash cars exactly the same way as I do.
Do you wash the microfiber towels or throw them away?
I want to get a deionized water system to help. I'll try contactless touchups in between contact washes.
