This all assumes my ceiling joists are spaced perfectly apart. Mine are not. As per your instruction booklet, id have to add a piece of wood between my joists for racks that don't hit a stud. This rack system should be customizable to any length and all I would have to do is trim any grid pieces to size
That's easy to fix just buy 2 - 2x6 and find the joists with a stud finder then you can just slap the 2x6 right on to the ceiling with 3 1/2 wood screws just make sure u hitting the joists the once you got that done just install the rack to the measure that its meant to be.. 2, 6 or 8 ft i just came with the same problem as you did and thats how i fixed it.. it came out pretty good.
@@usherpaco - I ended up buying some heavy duty angle iron, drilling holes in the right spots and mounting across 2 joists. I'd have to say my setup is much stronger now than it would have been right out of the box. I had to do that several times with the angle iron. I just happened to get lucky on two of the racks where they lined up perfectly with the joists
I purchased the VersaRac Overhead Storage Rack, which didn't include the "multi-hook accessory kit". The video stated "there are 5 different hooks that come in the kit". Is this something that should have been included with the rack, or something that is sold separately?

I just got out of my attic. I just added a 2x4 and some braces. Worked great

I just installed mine today. I did not get the 5 hooks either. This video is wrong. The hooks are accessories you have to buy separately.
