My goal is to reduce educational disparities by making education FREE.
These videos help you score extra points on medical school exams (USMLE, COMLEX, etc.)
For educational purposes only; NOT medical or other advice.
Some videos contain mild profanity and hyperbole solely used to assist with memorization. Viewer discretion advised.
Opinions are entirely my own.
It would be amazingly helpful for those of us prepping for step 2 to have this video include treatment. :) From the Third Edition of Step up to Medicine ITP treatment: steroids/IVIG, THEN splenectomy, THEN romiplostim/eltrombopag. For TTP: Plasmapheresis, case by case basis for steroids and splenectomy, but transfusion is contraindicated. For HUS, the only thing I remember from Q banks was an emphasis to NOT give antibiotics in a patient with bloody diarrhea because it could actually trigger HUS. Medscape says that care is supportive.
This is what I was looking for. Thanks!
THANK YOUUU
we don't need that when we have you
Great 💯
Thank you!!!
You explained my 6 hour lecture in 7 minutes! THANK YOU!
DIC
D- Decreased fibrinogen with D-Dimer increased
I- Intravascular hemolysis - MAHA and schistocytes
C-coagulopathy (or can't stop bleeding) with increased PTT/PT/INR
What does maha mean?
Microangiopathic hemolytic anemia
Glad you guys are back, hope to see a regular flow of vids!
You're an absolute life saver man!! :D

Thank you so much! This is super helpful!
I appreciate this video! Extremely helpful. Thank you so much, once more.
Increased bleeding time doesn't necessarily mean platelet destruction, but could also be a failure of aggregation or adhesion with normal platelet count
awesome, well explained
You’re the best!!!!!!!! Thank you

May I ask what is the cause of fever in patients with TTP?
best explanation everrr
Dam man you are a god!
Thank you for breaking this down 🥲
Thanks
THANKS KEEP GOING
God bless you. Can you talk about TPK?
Thanks.
this is a good explanation
I was WAITING for FAT RNS for TTP!!!!!! ( Fever, Anemia, Thrombocytopenia, Renal, Neurologic)
we don't waste our time with shitty FA mnemonics that make no sense
Yeah. There's a lot of mnemonics in FA that is pure nonsense, random letters.
hahaha i love it
@@DirtyMedicine once a rebel, always a rebel.
I thought ADAMSTS13 cleaved vWF multimers into monomers and those multimers are the ones that activate the platelets
me too
SAME
The end result is the same So his description is good for the sake of simplicity. I’ve never seen a question that hinged on that detail
thanks
Thx alot
LOVED THIS VIDEO OMG
Amazing
just..... I LOVE YOU
Thank u
awesome
can you make a video for the vision defects? (bitemporal hemianopia, macular sparing, etc)
Mr. 2006 for this you can watch video of armando hasudungan.you will understand it.
From first aid: TTP = FAT RN
Fever
Anemia
Thrombocytopenia
Renal Sx
Neuro Sx
Bro, it's schistocytes btw, not schistiocytes. I love the video, thank you
Tomato, tomahto
Tooooooooo good
Nice
Aren't you not supposed to give platelets to TTP? I think the treatment is steroids and plasma exchange.
Damnn im clotting lol love your videos
Updates about the book ?
ITP isn't a immune thrombocyptopnic purpura
Sir, how can i thank you? You are a life saver. Looooooooove you, your channel and your amaaaaaazing mnemonics
@Bashayer Alrefei, you can thank him by donating on Patreon every month from $1/month to .......
@@quadtos857 hahaha ok
How do we differentiate HUS and TTP since both will have everything in common (including creatinine elevation)
Is it just by the hx of diarrhea or am i missing something ?
Yes, recent illness in the vignette most likely
❤
Dam you are too great I have to leave another comment OMG
how do they get these medical terms
Sir role of Vit b12 and folic acid in thromcytopinia.
I can’t find your seronegative arithritis video 😭😭😭😭😭😭 did you remove it ?? Please bring it back 😢
hemolysis in hus : toxin mediated hemolysis or due to thrombosis? written sth else n u told sth else.......
Exactly same doubt here
TTP - pentad = My Kid Throw Fits
Microangiopathic haemolytic anaemia (My)
Acute Kidney injury (Kid)
Thrombocytopenia (Throws)
Fever & Fits/seizure (Fits)
I accually had itp and it’s super serious the doctors thought I was gonna die😭
I had itp
Damn I’m Clotting
coolllllll
My daughter has TTP she can relapse she feels so dizzy😭😭😭😭
The natural treatment of ITP is possible without causing any side effects. Planet Ayurveda from India offers ITP Care pack which are very effective and treat the condition of ITP naturally without any side effects
Idk about damn I’m clotting… because the DIC leads to decrease in clotting factors….
But yet you clot everywhere. Hence the mnemonic
TTP: F'N RATS
Fever
Neuro symptoms
Renal failure
Anemia
Thrombocytopenia
Schistocytes
I m itp patient
Did you got help ?
Same
I love u
More like stomach bacteria...
the term was used in the common vernacular, calm down
@@DirtyMedicine That bothered you? LOL.
spellcheck: Schistocytes, histiocytes
tomato, tomahto
Sounds like you have a sinus infection but you just press on! Get well.
You're misspelling and mispronouncing "schistocytes".
