I love the thumb nail
Lol thanks! Me and a few friends thought long and hard on that thumb
That's a cool build! Thanks for sharing, very inspiring.
No problem glad you enjoyed it :)
Very cool terrain. I'm glad you are back at the crafting table :)
Back and bustin my butt ;)
If you want a slightly easier and potentially cheaper way to make tiles, the local Hobby Lobby and Michaels have 1' square crafter plywood cuts at 99 cents apiece., they combine well with a layer of the readyboard foamcore from the dollar tree, you can normally get at least 4 of the plywood pieces with a single sheet (technically, you could get 6, but that would have pieces with no edge damage (hard to find) and zero screwups in the cuts. You can easily leave a groove in the underside of the foam for wiring and then seal it up against the wood to create a very sturdy piece once you paint and seal it up.
I'm usually using a 1 and a half inch grid, so 8 per tile, but I have a few that are standard size 1" grid.
Normally I just get my insulation foam out of the trash so it is freeee :)
@@CriticalCrafting I've used insulation foam for a lot of things, it's more that the other is consistent which is great for tiles, and works well for a good starting point for other things such as skirmish games if you want to go for some more from the wargames side of things if needed without looking that much more like the RPG one.
That Looks really awesome! Will you do some Space-Themed scatter-Terrain too?
YA know I found that after I was done I forgot to clean my sponge and it looked like an asteroid.... I might just do that
Very beautifull i like it
Would also work for spaceship games like X-Wing, Armada, BFG and others
Where do you get the thick purple foam?
I actually pull most of it out of dumpsters or at construction sites. But you can buy it at most hardware stores :)
Way too bright, looks more like underdark terrain. I made one of these but used an airbrush, masking tape and some coins. If you put two strips of tape close together 1-2 mm apart and spray a thin line about 2 inches long, wait for it to dry, rotate 60 degrees and repeat twice you get a bright star 🌟. Next place the quarter on top the star and spray the edge of the quarter for a halo effect.
I had a buddy who suggested this looked a lot like underdark terrain. Very cool idea with the airbrush, I have been meaning to try mine out.
