  • One of the biggest questions that comes through the shop is related to changing the visor on most Arai helmets. The process has changed slightly with the new Corsair X and because of this Van has decided it would be a good idea to make a new video on how any Arai Corsair X owner can easily make the visor change without damaging the helmet. Watch as Van explains in detail how to change the visor on this great new helmet from Arai.

For anyone watching this video, you don't try to install both sides of the shield at the same time. It's cumbersome! First install one side and snap the plastic cover on, then do the other side. Much easier than trying to hold each side at the red dot at the same time

I don't know this guy made both sides look pretty easy... - Van

Bought my first Arai (Nicky Reset) this week for a COTA track day Aug 14.
I think Shoei has the easiest visor retention system on their helmets. Quick and easy to swap out visors.

The Arai system is a little tougher to use for sure but it is a good system. - Van

I had the Arai RX7 and I always had trouble changing its visors. The new Arai Quantum X is way easier to change sheilds. This video was super easy to follow, I understand now how the new mechanism works.

Great video, best I've seen on the internet for detailed instructions on how to change the shield on the Arai Corsair X, thank you!

I can swap out my visor on my corsair v in about 5 seconds, not to sure I'll be able to do the same with this one! Also loving the new intro!

It’s a good description but I don’t agree that it’s the best way a company has come up with to remove the visor. The old ways which are all similar could be frustrating, but this is downright infuriating! The buttons don’t push in far enough on both sides at the same time to get both things to pop up particularly the covers. Then when closing you line up on one hole then try to line up the other and the first one pops out. Maybe if you have the experience of doing it for people a lot. You may be used to it, but for us once in a blue moon it’s not a fun experience and maybe it gets simple and seems logical but doesn’t work so well in practice. And i love this helmet and have two of them but to save expending anger I’ll let where I buy my next visors from handle it.

This is the way Arai does it and it is very different from all the other helmet manufacturers. IMO it is not super difficult. - Van

The SAI system was sooooo much easier to change shields. Being someone who can change shields several times a day, this will be a pain in the butt. Not to mention, that I can see those tabs on the side pods breaking (at the most inconvenient time) and having to be replaced often. Not an improvement.

Hello...how would you remove the chin vent...mine fell right through 🤭

Pretty sure that is just clipped in. If the clips are broken you can find a replacement here: www.sportbiketrackgear.com/arai-corsair-x-chin-vent/

I miss the SAI. Having to pop out the side pod is harder with gloves on TBH.

don't see the reason for changing the shield installation. the old system was easy peasy.

+brian cook It was pretty simple after you did it once or twice but we always get a ton of questions about swapping out these shields. Believe it or not they actually managed to make it easier!

I didn't notice the tabs because I got a black helmet, good thing I didn't let the 200 pound gorilla loose on it trying to take em off like Icon's side pods

I agree with the other Arai owners. Once you get used to it the previous design, it's on and off within 10 seconds. Super easy. All Arai has done here was make it more complicated. Not a fan.

I don't know why people have such a hard time with the Arai visors. I can swap mine with the helmet still on my head. this new system seems so unnecessary.
