Almost for 6 month I wasn't able to use locking mechanisim properly in my Arai Quantic and I thought it was normal 😭
All I need was just a little adjustment 😅 now it works perfectly! Thank you so much!

I just got a corsair X a little while ago. I was having a hell of a time closing it completely. This video helped with that. now it works like it should. I kinda wish this was a more known thing. Going to keep this in my favorites, just because I'll forget if I get a new bucket

Lots of comments about not being happy with the seal no matter adjustment. I'm an ex arai tech, and we always carried some of that silicon lube you get with shavers, and rub it into the rubber seals. Keeps them soft and creates a better seal.

I’m having a problem with mine, no matter how much I adjust it the visor won’t lock open. When I get to 40MPH it slams shut 🥲
Great video btw. Thank you for upload. Very useful 🙏🏻

When I bought my arai from a store, I didnt think it would be complicated to open the visor. I'm riding and I close the visor. Suddenly fog builds up. I tried opening it on the move and I was basically blind. I had to pull over and take off the lid and google it. It felt so flimsy, I was terrified of breaking it haha.

I followed this method several time trying to adjust my visor on my RX-7V but I always seem to get a little gap between the seal and the visor in the lower corner opposite side of the latch letting air through. I've tried several methods but somehow I am always able to slide a thin paper from the inside through the visor and always at the same spot.

I just spent an hour going crazy at trying to close this gap in the exact same area as you. No matter how far in/out or high/low i move the base plate there is always a gap, i can press it and hear it touch and come off the seal. Tried it on 2 different visors to make sure one wasnt bent or whatever. Im hoping that little gap is the reason i have a whistle noise.

I have the same issue with mine and no solution found so far. This is supposed to be a high end helmet ,very exoensive by the way, but uncomfortable to use. Arai never again.

I have the same issue with the Arai Quantic model, no matter how hard I tried to readjust the visor the gap between the seal and the visor in the lower corner opposite side of the latch is always there. I have a whistling noise that obviously comes from that gap. Poor design from the famous Arai company😒😒!

Same here.. good to hear I'm not the only one with a problem on the Quantic, its enough of a problem that air blows into my eyes... rather uncomfortable.
Swapping to a Shoei NXR 2 now.. tried few original Arai shields, always the same.

I have a corsair-x and yes.. Mine has that whistling sound too, after I go 65-70mph. I dont like it.
After I saw these comments, I am convinced its because the little gap that the shield leaves. And my lock is not even perfect.
However I still love Arai. Not a quite helmet at all. But definitely a safe, comfortable and the best looking helmet for me.
      Ride safe yall ✌🏻💪.

I'm on my 3rd signet helmet in 15 yrs. Only thing that fits my head. But each variation the shield latch gets worse. This latest is the most aggravation. If you don't slam it shut it won't release, even then it's hard. Very dangerous if it's fogged up. Would Bell or shoei PLEASE make a long oval helmet!

happened to me after I first removef the visor. It just takes a little more effort to push the visor down with a few fingers to get it over the demist post

I'm so butt hurt that my brand new almost $800 Arai leaks air like a cheap $100 helmet...... Hope this will fix it.

This so great finally i got the answer... do you need to torque while tightening?

Just bought a brand new Corsair X and there is a gap on the bottom right. Opposite side as latch. No matter what you do you can’t get it to seal. This thing was $1044 to my door. What gives? What’s the fix? Crazy that my $200 icon never had sealing issues. Please help me be an Arai customer for life. So far it looks like this will be my first and last Arai if I can’t get the visor to seal fully. A problem like that literally defeats the purpose of a visor.

I believe this is a known issue to Arai that can't do anything about it. Probably Shoei found the solution by installing to its new models a latch positioned at the center of the visor over the chin, so there will be no eccentric pressure while locking.

I’ve been an avid Arai fan for 10 years +, owning a number of helmets. I’ve owned the Chaser X now for 12 months, and I have to say, due to the new visor system, I will never buy another Arai. It’s shite. Absolutely shite.
It’s an absolute ball ache to open whilst riding, taking several attempts. It does not close unless you apply excessive pressure, thus, concentration, whilst riding. Sometimes it will not close, and I have to pull over and use two hands to close it.
I’ve been back to the Arai ‘approved’ shop where I bought it, only for them to tell me that it’s fine and it is as per design.
Absolute crock of shit helmet. £550 - waste of money for such a crucial feature of the helmet to be poorly designed as it is.

I struggle with this too, it's as you close it and try to open again at lights or whatever, it's probably great on a track as it won't lift in wind, I thought I was doing something wrong with that little moving lever, I thought it must do something but it don't , I'm actually tempted to remove the edge on the plastic bit that you are talking about so if pulls away easier, anyway have good un and ride safe 🖖

Funny that after adjustment, the graphics in the video isn't lining up lol! Nevertheless, I love my Corsair X. Comfy, doesn't pull sideways in crosswind etc. Now after some 3 years of hard use on street and track I am trying to adjust visor to seal and cannot for the life of me. May be that the side base plates have kinda worn tracks and need replacing? Maybe visor too? Nothing seems excessively worn out. However, does not feel very snug anymore, so that may be the reason why. It does kinda suck that such expensive helmet has such a guess work based adjustment. C'mon Arai, you can do better than this...
