    OK, I just thought of another way, this time for more handheld use. A battery extender that mounts under the camera. These additions are made for each camera model.

      if you have a camera cage you can mount NPF plate on it. I prefer to change batteries when on the go

    Vlad, another way to get more power for the camera for stationary shooting is to install a dummy battery wired to a RC race car battery which will delivery more power than you'll need.

      if you happen to have it why not? when I made this video I was thinking about more common things for a camera person

    Hi Vladimir. I am about to choose a cage for my R8 and just watch your review for the Tilta cage. And now I see you are using a dummy battery just like myself. Can you easily use it while on the Tilta cage too? I mean can you swap from dummy battery to real battery without removing the cage? I feel like you will need to first remove the cage in order to be able to manage the dummy battery cable but not sure. I use my camera on dummy battery while shooting on tripod(indoors) and swap back to normal batteries while going for handheld. Will I need to install/uninstall the tilta cage every time? (PS I also had SL200 so I have already my spare batteries :) )

      Hi Erk, you can swap batteries without any problem! There is a special «hole» for your cable. So yeah, nothing will stop your from opening the battery door.

      @@vshvarts great. I know there is a open place to manage the cable of the dummy but . I was not sure if i can totally remove the battery away and swap back to regular batteries. This open place is OK for cable but when it is installed already , how the whole dummy head will pass through that opening? So you tested. You uninstall the dummy totally and put on a regular one without removing the cage.. right? I am asking because this cage looks really tight fit :)

      And a quick addon.. The battery grips made for Canon rp fits perfectly fine on this body. Since you already have more than one original batteries, you can use such a grip to double the battery life too. It also makes the grip better. Downside is you can't reach the SD card quickly without removing it :( So buy a 30 bucks grip and you will have better grip and longer battery life than the r6 mk2 :))

    One thing you forgot to mention, most of those npf battery charger do not have the Canon required PPS implementation of PD. In other words, their usbC ports are useless in powering R8. I think the easier way is to use dummy battery. But your coiled cable to the wall doesnt have a regulator buiot in which is very dangerous you could lose the R8 as soon as you plug in

      @vshvarts  4 месяца назад

      I don't know about «most» of those chargers. I just told about mine and it has PD.

      that's correct. I just don't like the fact that the battery constantly discharges and recharges

      @@vshvartsнасколько я понимаю, в инструкции написано, что батарея заряжается только тогда когда камера выключена, а когда включена она питается от повербанка без зарядки батареи. Так что я думаю с аккумулятором ничего не будет

    • @vshvarts
      @vshvarts  2 месяца назад

      ситуация такая (протестировал сейчас): батарея разряжается, при подключенном питании. После разрядки батареи камера выключается. Делаю вывод, что камера питается от батареи, а не от внешнего питания (что и было сказано выше и не только мной)

      @@vshvarts жаль что так. В инструкции canon r8 в разделе "использование usb адаптера для питания и зарядки камеры" написано чтобы подать питание на камеру не заряжая аккумуляторы, необходимо поставить переключатель в положение ON. Жаль что инструкция не соответствует действительности.

    • @vshvarts
      @vshvarts  2 месяца назад

      @@alibol6013 так всё совпадает с инструкцией. Питание подаётся, батарея не заряжается. Про то, что она разряжается ничего не сказано.
