Now, post high school years, I was able to play against some pros and future pros in 5v5 pick up games. Guys like Michael Frazier, Kevin Martin, and Omri Casspi. One day, I was feeling myself and decided to challenge Omri Casspi 1v1. To those who do not know, Omri Casspi was the first Iran player to be drafted in the first round of the NBA. At 5:21 LeBron goes between the double team, and not only puts the ball behind his back, but sends it through his teammate's legs in the process. Super slick.
Look up the professor. He has a move called the teleport where he puts the ball behind his back and through the defenders legs. He's showed a few NBA players that move so it's possible that lebron actually meant to do that
As an Australian, I had to match up against Grant Williams when he was in high school for an international tour. Dude was the same size he is now, and would either blow by me or just bully me in the post... ain't no way anyone beating him now let alone in high school

Yeah, I recently saw a guy in his 50s, all gray hair and beard, who was a pro skater in the 80s absolutely shred at the skatepark. Put all the teenagers to shame. Elites occupy the space they do for a reason.
My friend in college was always talking shit about pro and college players and how good he is but he didn't get the chance, blah blah blah. Then we scrimmaged against the women's team (D1 top 25) That shut him up for a while.
Man, I was a practice player for a D1 women's team. The coaches basically just watch intramurals and pick the best/smartest players to assist with practices. Those women were some of the best ballers I've ever played with. Insane fundamentals and IQ. We were bigger and stronger than them, but they knew how to use their bodies and leverage so well. This was just at a mid-major school too. It really puts perspective on the gap in talent between casuals and amateurs, and amateurs and professionals.
It's not just that LeBron has 37k points. It's also that he's top 10 in assists. All time playoff points. Been to the Finals 10x including 8 yrs straight. The most gifted athlete we've seen since Wilt. Better than anyone has ever been at his age. Most seasons in a row averaging 25+.
@@rankarat Nobody fucking said anything about Jordan get off his meat And his regular vertical was 42 LeBron is 44 Jordan's highest vertical is only higher by 1.2 inches.
The good answer to the 1v1 question is "whichever NBA player would be nice enough to drop the game in order to save your family". So I would probably go with Giannis, he looks like a good egg. Jordan on the other hand would probably taunt people about the fact that they're going to lose their loved ones.
Had the exact same thoughts. He is nice enough to the point he would be more than willing to let me win if I explained the situation, and godly enough so that no one wonders "did this guy lost to a random? Is he this bad?". Most people would think "yeah that's a charity game or something, he wasn't playing for real
As a longtime Bron hater/fan the “no bag” take is ludicrous because those exact same fans don’t have anywhere near the standard for the “bag” they’re talking about for other similarly sized players. What 6’9 guys besides Magic have ever had the bag Lebron does even if his handles are relatively simple moves. It’s how he uses and combos them combined with the threat of his athleticism that’s genius
I had the honor of playing in a 5 v 5 game against Mike James in Jefferson High School back in 2015. This was before he went pro. I got one bucket on him from deep, that was the last bucket I ever saw. And he proceeded to drop 20 on our team
The only player I can mentally comprehend on that list is Iverson, he’s pretty undebatably worse in an overall stance but he’s great and rivaled him in his prime
I think people forget how long lebrons been this good. Some people need to take a trip down memory lane n look at the first 10 or so years he was in the league and witness greatness.

Everything Jimmy said about Steph is why I always say he would be my PG over Magic and it pisses my pops and grandpa off so much. Glad to see someone agrees with me
I don't know about your take on Steph and Magic, Magic Johnson made his teammates allstars. He never had a losing season and I doubt that Steph, like Magic, could of played center as a Rookie in the NBA finals. And not only win but be the leading scorer and win finals MVP. If they were active players at the same time, it would be very easy for you to see. You're getting caught in the moment. Your grandpa should get upset lol
@@redtapeleveneleven Magic is the GOAT PG no doubt but if I’m picking an all time team I have to have Steph for the spacing and shooting. Magic’s only real flaw is what Steph is easily the best ever at. Steph HAS to be guarded the moment he steps over the half court line and that give the rest of your team a ridiculous amount of space to work with he makes it impossible for teams to play zone defense or slack off him in the slightest. Also the made his teammates all-stars is a stretch, he was playing with Big Game James and Kareem not Draymond Green 😂
@@redtapeleveneleven Steph made Draymond a hall of famer. That's gotta be some kind of record. Plus, who cares if Magic could play center... Teams hire centers to play center. Though because of Steph the Warriors can apparently do it with Looney.
@@par_tr3y617 Thing is, because we'd never seen it before people still have a really hard time evaluating it... But creating space is obviously part of the PG role. Steph does it far better than anyone ever, with and without the ball. Klay scored 60 points on 11 dribbles. That should be impossible. Steph is much more valuable to a team than Magic. And therefore the GOAT PG. History will judge though.
@@redtapeleveneleven Magic didn't actually play center that game. His teammate, Jim Chones did. Magic only did the tip off. Magic did get the most rebounds in that game though which is very impressive.
I found a loophole to the beat an NBA player or your family dies thing... Marry an NBA players sister and have some kids together... Get real close and then tell them about the game, they either have to kill their sister, nieces and nephews by winning or let you win so everyone lives... Work smarter not harder. 😂
2:52 Jimmy to defend Lebron did you really have to use a clip of him dribbling between the legs and then hitting the side of the backboard, and play it TWICE 😭
It’s the video of “the take”. Some guy commented about lebron with this video, and while this take was on the screen, this video was on the loop. It’s not something Jimmy chose to defend lebron.
The way to win the bet is to find a player that's known for being really kind and sympathetic, explain the situation, and hope they're nice enough to let you win.
Playing basketball with non hoopers is the worst, you either get the football player that fouls you all the time, or lazy teammates that only want to do something when they have the ball.

Same here, ESPN/sports media need to hire people like him or at least make content like this. The trash takes they get on there from people like Kendrick Perkins needs to be done with. I don’t watch any of their content outside of 30 for 30 these days
Honestly the biggest issue with criticisms toward LeBron is the fact that he's practically a 40-year old man at this point. 2018-2022 LeBron doesn't look like he has a "bag" because he's not the same player he was at 25 or 30 years old. He exerts much less effort nowadays and still manages to average 25+ points. But if you look back at prime LeBron the dude was a menace on the both the offensive and defensive ends
Still tho pure qualities you could argue luka has a bron like style. The step back isn't even much of a striking similarity. Everyone uses that move rn even bron. And bron and harden also have a similar style driving, foul bating, creating shoots for teammates. Just a three pointer difference
I'd love to hear your all time team. The 5 man team you'd pick to save the universe if Thanos decided to snap based on a basketball game lol. Personally I'd go MJ, Lebron, Steph, Duncan, and Hakeem.
I once saw Jamario Moon at an outdoor court in Toronto, jump OVER a Canadian street hooper for the dunk. He wasn't even playing. It was 100% toss me the ball I'm on my way home type things. I've been hooping for 30+ years and I've never seen someone just launch themselves into the sky like that.
Normally when people write this I think it's over the top, but with jxmy this is actually true. I always sit myself down and watch the video and I never feel like I just wasted the time like it sometimes feels with other videos
As a 5’9” guy who hasn’t touched a basketball in 10 years and was always pretty bad, my family would be doomed. I’d have to try to really game the system by either saying I play them in their present day state and find an old bench warmer in a nursing home, or try to go way back pre NBA and pick a scrub from the 1940s or something. Even then, it wouldn’t look good for my family.
Here's a take: I truly believe Steph curry is the single most adaptable and dynamic superstar teammate EVER. emphasis on teammate. As a shooter, he has a place in virtually any elite offensive scheme with pretty much any star teammate you could think of. If we were to use him in his simplest form, setting screens and shooting off actions, he'd still be all time dangerous without needing to dominate the ball. And he doesn't have the ego of necessarily needing the ball all the time, he's fine working with a better pure talent. He's a high IQ defender for your team, promotes a winning culture, and just having him on the court changes literally every defensive scheme you could think of.
Agreed, but remember the crypto lawsuits his team is currently involved with? But, I won't let that (and the Warrior's bad record this year) ruin that take.
Ye probably him1 then Shaq and MJ as the only other real options, Shaq as a force on the interior for Lobs and Dump offs if his defender slid over even a little is scary
Been watching Jimmy for about 4 or 5 years now. The notification bell is on for this channel because every video is super interesting every time. Definitely the best basketball channel on RUclips by far.
I remember one time I met Devin Booker and accidentally bumped into him. This man was a BRICK WALL. Like I’m a big dude and he was completely immoveable. So yeah nobody is beating these guys in anything. Not even Tony Snell.
What's so ironic about the 'LeBron=no bag' take, is that I've seen Giannis do almost every move from those clips, prior to being moved to the 4, which is why I was so confused by the 'Giannis=no bag' take.
@@cabnabsshshshshs8072 well, duh, the dudes like 7ft 270, I sure as hell HOPE he can't anymore. @@3TooWonder LeBron's bag is way deeper and all round versatile from the floor, playoff jumpers from half Court and mid range turnarounds. Everything and I mean everything. For over 18 years.
@@ochomunna270 Since y'all keep talkin about NOW, I'll include NOW but I mean this in no disrespect, but WTF is a "playoff jumper"? Also, LeBron is like a 33-34% 3pt shooter for his career but chucks like 8 game now so it's down to like 32-31%. I wouldn't say that's really "in his bag" and neither are free throws (just like Giannis). You can argue amongst yourselves on which is worse. Point is, y'all givin Giannis the exact same BS people gave LeBron when he was thrashing through the league at a historic pace. While you're at it, put some respect on Jokic and Embiid too 💯
I think saying LeBron doesn’t have a bag relates to what we now nowadays as fancy moves, jelly, etc. Many players have developed insane offensive arsenals which defenses have a hard time to deal with... Also the referees are letting players have more flexibility with the offense as opposed to earlier days when players would receive calls for little things today go unnoticed.
5:20 What are the odds that the ball goes through at exactly the right time and angle? This must be what "poetry in motion" looks like but just a lot slower lol
i’ve been crying for 5 minutes just thinking about the fact that someone really thinks LeBron James has no bag lmfao it’s just too funny edit: stop arguing you can’t score 37,000 points without a bag
My hot take for this episode is Paul George for a certain time had the deepest bag in basketball behind Harden. He was 6’9 pulling off moves that 6’2 guards pull and at the same speed. Easily one of the craziest athletes in the league for a little bit.
If I had to 1v1 an NBA player to save my family, probably just gonna choose the nicest NBA player I can find so that maybe I stand a chance at negotiation. So Mr. Rubio, please let me go home now 😂😂😂
For the bag hot take: It's all relative to me. Most people think that Shaq doesn't have a bag but that man had moves and skillsets that others could only dream of. It's just compared to other NBA players does Shaq seem more limited. I think the same holds true for LeBron. Compared to a number of other NBA players that rely on more skill to get buckets Lebron, like Shaq, uses his physical dominance to do that more than those other players. For the one on one take: I only have 2 legitimate answers to this. One is if it's as they are now I would pick the oldest and shortest NBA player alive. There have to be some that so old they can't really move much less shoot lol. Now if it defaults to their prime than I'm picking the nicest NBA player I can hoping they'll let me win to save my family. Other than that I got no chance. My hot take: I think MJ is the greatest but LeBron is going to have the greatest career in the history of the NBA when he retires. In 15-20 years though, as long as the pace of play and protection of players continue, we're going to be seeing at least a dozen players with LeBron-esqe careers showing up. Maybe not quite exactly to the same heights but a lot closer than people think.
@Jamie Kelley You might be right about how the game develops, but I don´t see another guy doing two 3peats in 8 years with entirely different teams outside of Pippen. Add MJ´s defensive stats and I don´t even see any other dude close any time soon. The MJ/Bron debate is fake. But I think all of the scoring records will be broken unless the NBA negates some of the rule changes that led to these crazy stats we currently see.
I think MJ and Lebron are by far the best players of all time. No one comes close to them within the next 20 years. So no nobody will have a carrer close to Lebron.

The good answer to the 1v1 question is "whichever NBA player would be nice enough to drop the game in order to save your family". So I would probably go with Giannis, he looks like a good egg.
Jordan on the other hand would probably taunt people about the fact that they're going to lose their loved ones.
Steven Adams is a good answer too he’s so kind
Had the exact same thoughts. He is nice enough to the point he would be more than willing to let me win if I explained the situation, and godly enough so that no one wonders "did this guy lost to a random? Is he this bad?". As a longtime Bron hater/fan the “no bag” take is ludicrous because those exact same fans don’t have anywhere near the standard for the “bag” they’re talking about for other similarly sized players.
