    The most absurd thing of MJ's 11 seasons in the top 50 is that those are ALL his full seasons with the Bulls, the only ones missing are his second season where he broke his foot and missed a lot of the season, and his comeback sesson when he joined the team halfway through after playing baseball.
    Literally every time he got to play the whole thing, he had a top 50 sesson of all time

    • @jgpsalm23
      @jgpsalm23 4 месяца назад +37

      Broken foot he only played 18 games and he was on limited minutes when he came back cause the team didn’t want to win to get a lottery pick. When he came back from baseball is wasn’t even half way through. He only played 17 games that year. That’s less than a quarter. So 2 seasons he played less than a quarter of the games both times

In reality, 18 assists could net a team between 45 and 50 points assuming a handful of 3's plus a couple of and 1's.
      The person with the 20/18 is directly responsible for +60, easily, whereas the 35/5 is closer to 45, with a theoretical max of just 55 points assuming all 5 of those assists lead to a 3+1.

      @John Doe I agree. The all defensive team selection being 10 pts is also rather biased as Jordan kept winning that award despite clearly not being the best defender on not the best defensive team.
      It's also just odd to weigh a subjective defensive award so highly when everything else is using objective measures (mvp voting was not used for example).
      PER or BPM already factor in the counting stats and efficiency with appropriate weighting. Contaminating them with counting metrics and other stuff without much thought to weighting or any regard to efficiency is purely for entertainment purposes and should be treated as such

      MJ’s 91-98 stretch is even more insane (IMO) because it was both individual AND team wise.
      So because of retirement/baseball he only played six seasons in that time span,he played the last 17 games of the 94-95 season but only played six full season from 91 when he broke through and got his first til 98 when he retired from Chicago for good...
      In those six season he won 6 championships,6 finals mvps,6 scoring titles,made all-def 1st team 6 times and won league mvp 4 times,twice in each *3-peat*.
      The bulls won 6 in 8 years...MJ himself won 6 in a row (when playing a full season) or he won 6 outta the 7 season’s he participated in from 91-98.
      Either way,nobody has done anything even close to that since Bill Russell 70+ years ago.
      Lebron,Kareem,Wilt,Bird Magic,Isaiah,Shaq,Kobe,Tim Duncan,Hakeem,Russell,Steph,KD and so so many more never accomplished all that ⤴️ in their entire 15-20+ year careers.

There are accounts of him recording 20 blocks. So, the 50 point 25 rebound season, it's safe to say he recorded at least 8.8 blocks per game, conservatively. He most likely averaged more than that and was probably over 10 per game that year. It's a complete slap in the face to not mention this man in this video. He also averaged more than 48 minutes played per game in a season. He played every minute of every game, including overtime minutes. He did not foul out once, and played more minutes on average longer than the length of a complete game for an entire year. Pay some respect to Wilt!

    My main issues with this is that none of the stats are normalized based on era(points per game for each season have varied a lot and points should be worth more in lower scoring eras like 1995-2008 where the league average was under 100 points per game) Also assists are scored the same as points when on average they're worth somewhere between 2-3 points varying between era. Efficiency isn't looked at at all(not just scoring, but assists to turnovers too) It was an intriguing video to watch, but it clearly favors Jordan with this version of scoring. I think it would be really interesting to see this template fleshed out more and redone.
