I understood your explanation of how the lights work. I wouldn't like to say it: When I open the hood of my car to check the fluid levels and the battery posts, I see many more mechanical parts and I can't help but reflect and say to myself: "absolutely unknown territory for me." All the best.

Very easy to understand what you did to find the fault. It is only people that fully understand that can explain things simply and you have really achieved that. Thanks.

Exactly the same issue with our 2011 i30
Other things have been going wrong too, window switch failed, dash intermittently started to flash but then came good again (occurred months ago)
My very old cars seemed to have more reliability when it came to wiring, then again, they didn't have 1.4 the number of these circuits in modern cars
Great video by the way, very clear and systematic

Very good instructional vid, would have liked to see you find and show fault exactly, but nevertheless great video

Hi, and thanks for your comment. I spoke to the driver recently and have put his update in the description of the video. Hope it helps.

Very nice video. I have an issue with my hyundai i30 2011, with the Dipped Beam (Headlight) This is the beam you use for normal night time driving. Is not working and the is no power 12Vdc when the switch is On, all the rest of the lights are working well. Checked the fuse H/LP 20A and is ok.
What do you think could be the problem?
    Thanks

Not the lights as in your case showing with the arrow in video starting but the second one.
      Thank you

May I ask what is the headlamp relay labeled as in the relay box? Found the diagram but can’t figure out which is the one for headlamps. Thanks in advance.

Hi Dora, there is no "headlight relay" per se, there are separate relays for the headlight high beam (full headlights) and the headlight low beam (dipped head lights). The one that I am working on here is the low beam. At 5:22 there is a map of the relay positions, which I found on the web page in the address bar at the 5:22 timestamp.

Where can you find these wiring diagrams? Need one for a 2012 i30

Hi Dan, I found a low quality copy of the original wiring on a thread on i30ownersclub dot com, and tidied it up in Photoshop.
