If you want to turn off the InSP light then you have to: Press the brake, Hold the button next to the spedometer, Then turn on the ignition but dont start the car and wait for it to stop flashing or it will dissapear.
Vauxhall /Opel garages are real gangsters. I had a water pump failure and the engine stalled. They took apart the engine and put all bits and pieces in the trunk. They wanted me to pay 650 euro for doing nothing. I refused to pay and towed my car to an indépendant mecanic who repaired the engine for 1500 euro. Opel asked 5500 euro for the repair.
Is this the z19dth or z19dt engine? Egr valve can be cleaned it doesn't require a complete replacement.... and the butterfly valve i think you're referring to is the manifold swirl flaps. To remove the manifold you need to remove the high pressure pump which in turn does require the cambelt to be removed. However the egr valve alone will not cause this starting issue.. The swirl flaps may if they are stuck closed. I have mine removed and the holes blanked off with aluminium plugs so the problem is eliminated entirely. So I know if they are stuck open it will not cause this issue either because mine would do it. I have had this engine for 2 years and know it inside out.. (z19dth) but do know a lot about the DT also.
My dads Zafira is playing up right now. Some days it’s starts up perfect other days it’s a bugger to start (won’t turn over) but starts eventually. After driving for a bit it loses speed and cuts out plus It hardly makes it up the hills, sometimes it won’t make it up the hill. Tonight they was driving home (about 10 miles drive) and the car just completely stopped and wouldn’t start at all so they call recovery. Anyone know what it could be? The car is a Vauxhall Zafira 2003 1.8 automatic
MrFlair1989 unfortunately not, it’s gotten a lot worse. We’ve taken it to the garage today and they said it’s the sensor on the gear box. So it’s being fixed now. Will update when I find out anything else.
Hallo, Butterfly valve can be cleaned ! How did they decide to change it? Can you tell me what parts did you change? I have the same problem,at first run the engine does not start! Especially the temperature drops around 0 degrees !I have red about worn startet motor out! Thank you in advance!
The throttle/butterfly valve can be cleaned, what can't be cleaned is the Swirl flaps inside the manifold, that requires either swirl flap delete kit or a new manifold. The flaps can break off and destroy your engine.
I don't see the connection between the cam belt replacement and the EGR/Inlet manifold two different jobs, if I was you I would be looking for a different garage, pricing is a bit on the high side.
You do have to take the injector pump off these engines to remove the inlet manifold. This means removing the cambelt so might as well do at same time.if it was mine I wouldn't bother on high mileage car not worth it .GM shit with pollution restrictions Diesels are dead get a petrol car what you save on repair out ways fuel savings
Incorrect, the fuel pump at the back of the inlet manifold has to be removed inorder to remove the inlet manifold from the rear of the engine. The belt itself can stay in place and the pulley can be locked in place with two bolts, this means only the centre bolt that is screwed onto the fuel pump shaft has to come off and 3 nuts at the rear of the pump and the high pressure fuel line removed. Also 1 stud has to be removed or the alternator and bracket has to be removed, this is all needed to make the space to pull the manifold away from the engine. It's quite a lot of work involved.
1 year late but the z19dth don't have throttle bodies 🤣 it's called a butterfly valve or shutter valve which doesn't have any say in speeding or slowing the engine rpm just saying 😜
@@johnsora3857 that my friend it might be in the same location and most numptys called it a TB but it is not a throttle body it does not regulate engine speed it is a anti-shudder/shutdown valve "facepalm"
£800 , WOW, What a ripp off, £800 for a Egr wich is around £100 brand new, but you can still clean yours, and for a cam belt kit water pump included, wich is around £85 to 100. Wow How much it would be the labour charge, £600

Help mine wouldn't start just cranks but if I spray quick start it starts what could be the issue
Thando Ngwenya sounds like you have a fuel problem.

Just got a car haveing same problem think this is my problem thanks
Blank that EGR, it's a must on this engine.
Just blank the egr will clog dpf as always The corrupt car industry think of everything

sounds like the mechanic wanted to renew the timing belt for his own sake

oh my god did you notice a new battery when it came back
How much was the cost my vectra cdi 2.9 got this problem
Mathew Haile sorry I can’t remember now off the top head, but it should be in one of the videos.
Please the meaning of EGR sencer
£800 they seen you coming mate
I don’t think you take the cam belt off to get to manifold or egr 😂 pretty sure you have been mugged right off sir. I cleaned mine.....

Apologies just seen it is a Diesel I take back the last comment, apart from the price.
hi my vauxhall zafira diesel i.9 isnt starting in the morning can anyone tell wat is the problem please
Really could get engine for that price
Butterfly ?? You mean throttle body, and that can be cleaned too, and check wiring
Probably means the swirl flaps manifold has to to come off to do those
