This movie messed up Rasputin so hard that I swear to God that if he saw the way they portrayed him he would have definitely liked to drink poison, shoot and stab himself and in the end to get drowned on a frozen river. But hey, at least he got an amazing villain's song!

When I was about six I bought the cartoon Anastasia and my dad told me that it was based on a true story, I became OBSESSED with finding out everything about the Russian imperial family and their brutal murder. My dad even bought be four movies based on it! The obsession kinda wore off eventually but I was chuffed when The Last Czars came out, it's a brilliant season, I'm glad they only did one season coz they they could fit all of the drama into eight or nine episodes. I love the way they did The Last Czars, absolutely brill, and I love the theme tune as well, though it strongly reminds me of the murder which is not so great...but beautiful music
I became obsessed with the Romanovs too when I was still learning about them. The loss of obsession really is the sad part about learning about this family since once you know so much about them and theres nothing else to learn you just starting to look at other stuff.

After I watched this series for the first series, I just couldnt help but watch it all over again. Like seriously, its a goddamn good series. The intro everytime I hear it I just want to watch another episode. Sometimes I really wish they continued the series but I get the main reason they didn't. If anyone doesn't know, here is a bit of context for you: So the Romanovs were executed in a house in Yekaterinburg, Russia in 1918 which was basically the Russian Revolution done and dusted.
Not gonna lie, I think Russia has the most impressive History, despite their Monarchy, in Europe. Really sad what happened afterwards in cause of Communism and Oligarchy, which affects are still present today - and yes, there lies a lot of blood underneath the snow.

About 10 years ago a photograph was discovered in the Harem section of Topakapi Palace Maria standing by a concubine in front of the railway station in Sirkeci. I dreaded watching that scene as well. It was heartbreaking. A whole family dying like that. Even though I know history and that they in fact all died, I kept thinking something would happen and they would escape.
T'was the first series i ever watched in Netflix. The whole thing introduced me into russian history. I was more into imperial Russia and its civil war!
So then the directors thought there would be no point in making another series because all of the Romanovs were dead(as far as we are concerned) and the entire dynasty was demolished for good. However, I would like to see another series on this maybe about the early days of the 300 year Romanov reign. What about everyone else, would you like to see that???

As for your insinuation that I'd prefer to be rapped by Capitalist Elites; notice how I hate oligarchs and robber barons, the enemy of the American people since the Industrial Revolution began. Yes, I am a capitalist; I like the meager possessions and money I have that is my own; capitalism is the single greatest economic system mankind has devised in the past 200 years that survived the 18th and 20th centuries while all others have failed. Late Era USSR and 2000-Current Right Now USA operate almost exactly like each other; i.e. the Oligarchs, Industrialists, Party Leaders, Party Members, Robber Barons, and Factory Unions have communism while everyone else gets abject feudalism and poverty.
What you and many proponents of communism and socialism seem to misunderstand is Corporatism, while being the extreme oligarchical corporate form of capitalism, is run by the very wealthy and is in fact not a system even real business owners that are upper middle class get behind. I am a working class man from a background that was nearly upper middle class as a small child. I have been poor, but never have I thought that collective ownership of everything was a good idea.
I am of the idea that things need to change.
