Imagine exploring some abandoned old church then you see like 4 guys playing the cello in the middle of the altar disappearing and reappearing in various places
In sleep he sang to me In dreams he came That voice which calls to me And speaks my name And do I dream again? For now I find The phantom of the opera is there Inside my mind Sing once again with me Our strange duet My power over you Grows stronger yet And though you turn from me To glance behind The phantom of the opera is here Inside your mind Those who have seen your face Draw back in fear I am the mask you wear It's me they hear My spirit and my voice In one combined The phantom of the opera is there Inside my mind In all your fantasies you always knew That man and mystery were both in you And in this labyrinth Where night is blind The phantom of the opera is here Inside my mind He's there The phantom of the opera
Something that I've only just noticed listening to this back, is how each cello has its own voice, it's own personality. Much like their players, no doubt.
I played cello in HS, and I slowly learned that some cellos "liked" certain sounds more. My mother named her violin after playing it for hours to get a grasp of it's voice, and what name would suit it best.
I used to listen to this on repeat in high school and it's probably been 5 or 6 years since i last listened. doesn't shake me to my core any less now than it did then
It never subsides. It builds tension and intrigue the ENTIRE SONG. It's like "Struggle of Sadness" from Yuyu Hakusho. It never ONCE properly resolves because it's is not supposed to. And it does so BEAUTIFULLY! It's almost cruel.
People just walking down the street beside a long abandoned building suddenly hear haunting music echoing from within the dark and either run away in terror with rumours of ghosts on their tongue or listen enraptured and prepared to pledge their fealty to the spirit within.
I can’t explain the emotion that I feel when I hear this song. It happens every time, whether watching the play live, or hearing it hear played by these amazing men. It’s an unknown feeling, yet addictive.
It’s like the sharp chords are whipping me different directions but it feels good, the tension builds and I love it!! The music really has a mind of its own here!

I love when each musician has their own little solo in pieces like this. For example, 1:20. Not only does it give them a chance to show their personal skill, but it allows the listener to hear the difference between individual instruments. Like you can hear different sound/tone qualities with each instrument, making it sound like each cello has its own unique voice and I find that really fascinating.

So much talent and creativity is wasted, lost, or never seen waiting for record labels, or Hollywood to never discover them. This was a freakin masterpiece! I really loved the phantom of the opera as a song to begin with, but this is on a whole other level, it's a masterpiece I don't speak English very well, sorry guys, love from France 😁
DravenGal Oh yes! I’ve read it! Achingly depressing and haunting, not to mention extremely enthralling. I like to tell people you could get hitched on the book no matter what page you started reading on. The only complaint I have is perhaps that the ending felt pretty pointless and tacked on, but that’s minor. It’s still easily the most gorgeously written book I’ve ever had the pleasure of reading-leaps and bounds better that Leroux’s original novel, in my opinion.
the hair on my arms stood straight up, the tension and intensity! I have no words. the location and lighting of of the clip is also completely fitting too. BRAVO!
i love how they invoked the introductory scene from the musical, the ruined church in place of a ruined opera house. if only the cellos were going up for auction, only to spring back into the performer's hands at the strike of the gavel.
Today I felt immense nostalgia and an even greater desire to return to the day of that splendid and magnificent performance. A quartet of wonderful and very beautiful musicians!!!!❤️❤️❤️❤️👏🏼🎻👏🏼🎻👏🏼🎻👏🏼🎻

Erik called. He is shaking. *_he wants to know ALL of your locations, also he has asked to continue keeping box five empty to see your performance better_*
Well that's just Eric being his usual drama queen self. Every single box, corner, alcove and convenient lurking place in that building is empty. He's probably just missing having an audience to terrorize. And a chandelier.
I actually can't stop listening and singing along. (Tough my voice certainly doesn't make it sound better;) If anyone is interested in the lyrics of the original song so you could sing along to: [Christine :] In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came, that voice which calls to me, and speaks my name. And do I dream again? For now I find the phantom of the opera is there inside my mind. [Phantom :] Sing once again with me our strange duet; my power over you grows stronger yet. And though you turn from me to glance behind, the phantom of the opera is there inside your mind. [Christine :] Those who have seen your face draw back in fear. I am the mask you wear, [Phantom :] it's me they hear. [Christine & Phantom :] Your spirit and my voice in one combined; the phantom of the opera is there inside my/your mind. [Phantom :] In all your fantasies, you always knew that man and mystery [Christine :] were both in you. [Christine & Phantom :] And in this labyrinth where night is blind, the Phantom of the opera is here inside my/your mind. [Phantom :] Sing, my angel of music!
Yang Unchained yes they did!! It was jaw dropping and instant goosebumps! And when the chandelier dropped they had what I think was silicon pieces explode into the crowd it was terrifying and amazing all at once.
Belíssimo! Simplesmente Belíssimo! A harmonia é incrível.

I'm not gonna lie, I thought they were all the same people but edited to be in the same room
they switched constantly from who held the beat, who held the melody, harmony. everyone got a bit of melody and harmony.
Well that's often the cello's only job so I think they're used to it...
This song will be much less powerful without them.
Great camera work as well, nor focusing on one particular face or artist

the hair on my arms stood straight up, the tension and intensity! I have no words.
the location and lighting of of the clip is also completely fitting too. BRAVO!
This video is great folks. This is a break out video for these guys. Share it and boost it up. Come on 👍👍
These guys are on an entirely different planet, not just a different level
i love how they invoked the introductory scene from the musical, the ruined church in place of a ruined opera house. if only the cellos were going up for auction, only to spring back into the performer's hands at the strike of the gavel.
Großartige Musik, sehr emotional, gefühlvoll, romantisch, besondere Rhythmus, wunderbare Harmonie und Kreativität, Perfektion!!!
So amazing! Love it
GnuS Cello, Nice to see you! I love the covers you do on your channel. 🎻

All the nuances of a full orchestral version on 4 cellos. Bravo!
This is so beautiful! I love how you can hear the tone of each cello individually.
I listened to this while raining and suddenly the rain stopped to listen too.
Anna Merisielu it truly is that beautiful
Very poetic.
cool...
nice
Bruh that was poetic and lit af
I am literally crying right now, this sounds amazing.
cool
Maddicyn Taylor really?
Imagine walking by this abandoned church and suddenly you hear hauntingly beautiful music from within but the music is about a “ghost” or “phantom.”
Que apresentação fantástica!! Nunca assisti nada igual !! Magnífica!! Merecedora de todos os APLAUSOS!! Quarteto Esplêndido!!🙌🏼❤️❤️❤️❤️🎻🎻🎻🎻👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼🥂🥂🥂🥂🥂👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼👏🏼
Well, I've never been turned on before by beautiful Cello music, but I guess there's a first time for everything.
Um
I guess like Tom Booker in the movie " The Horse Whisperer "
Welcome to the club, my friend. Agree on looking up 2Cellos, as well as Apocalyptica.
Watch their version of thunderstruck, if that doesn’t do it for you nothing will.
HAHA
As a beginning violin player, this was actually inspiring.
how are you doing in learning violin 4 months later?
Yeah, i wanna know too
Me too
How’s it going?
I just starting playing again too, after not playing it for over 20 years.
Erik called. He is shaking.
*_he wants to know ALL of your locations, also he has asked to continue keeping box five empty to see your performance better_*
Haha I love this! 😂
Yes, I agree. Erik would appreciate
Well that's just Eric being his usual drama queen self. Every single box, corner, alcove and convenient lurking place in that building is empty.
He's probably just missing having an audience to terrorize.
And a chandelier.

I actually can't stop listening and singing along. (Tough my voice certainly doesn't make it sound better;)
If anyone is interested in the lyrics of the original song so you could sing along to:
[Christine :]
In sleep he sang to me, in dreams he came,
that voice which calls to me,
and speaks my name.
And do I dream again? For now I find
the phantom of the opera is there
inside my mind.
[Phantom :]
Sing once again with me our strange duet;
my power over you grows stronger yet.
And though you turn from me to glance behind,
the phantom of the opera is there
inside your mind.
[Christine :]
Those who have seen your face
draw back in fear.
I am the mask you wear,
[Phantom :]
it's me they hear.
[Christine & Phantom :]
Your spirit and my voice in one combined;
the phantom of the opera is there
inside my/your mind.
[Phantom :]
In all your fantasies, you always knew
that man and mystery
[Christine :]
were both in you.
[Christine & Phantom :]
And in this labyrinth where night is blind,
the Phantom of the opera is here
inside my/your mind.
[Phantom :]
Sing, my angel of music!
Antonio Banderas did a pretty good Phantom
I had the lyrics by heart by the age of 7 and right now I'm 20. XD
@@theSheighani42 Right? My favourite one.

Not all actors know how to sing, and vice versa. So I was pleasantly surprised. It was a neat performance

This is so beautiful. I'm going to see Phantom in a week and this definitely got me in the mood.
Yang Unchained I’ve now seen it once and it is amazing!! Live it was just beautiful!
Yang Unchained yes they did!! It was jaw dropping and instant goosebumps! And when the chandelier dropped they had what I think was silicon pieces explode into the crowd it was terrifying and amazing all at once.
I’m so jealous!! I’d love to see it live one day!
Hannah I was lucky enough to see it live and haven’t watched the movie version. Once you see it on stage you’ll never go back!
This was spectacular, I felt chills
What an extremely skilled group of musicians my god-
Maravilhoso!! Som, ambiente, iluminação!!! Um verdadeiro espetáculo
Belíssimo! Simplesmente Belíssimo!
A harmonia é incrível.

To me, nothing sings like strings!
Music is truly the best translator of emotions.
The phantom of the opera was a sad story :( poor OG he was just an ugly boi who just wanted to vibe
Yeah, I'd definitely have more sympathy if he didn't hang and kill people when he was mad tho XD
Ashley Bishop well that’s what the musical phantom did the og phantom was just a monster chillin and then they killed him
Have you even read the book?
Janou C lol which one of us are you asking?😂
@@ashleybishop3431 the bird man mostly, because he definitely doesn't seem to get the torture chamber part of the Phantom xd
So, so beautiful. I'm in awe of their talent. They play together so well. Perfection.
Now THIS is the kind of string instrument intensity I live for!! Amazing!
That feeling when you know it's going to be good but it succeeds your expectations and is absolutely incredible
This...THIS is the kind of music that feels like you can never fully appreciate
I can listen to this thousands of times, and it still wouldn't be enough to show how much I love it something about this is just so enchanting
Incrivelmente maravilhoso! Belíssima apresentação.
If I heard the music, I would be like Christine and follow it
Everything sounds so much better with cello. Cello the world!!!!
i have never seen anyone fiddle and love their cello that much, but it was amazing
The Prague Cello Quartet brings this amazement back to life like you're sitting at the theatre, thank you!
