If Minecraft keeps updating and getting better, it will not die. It just literally will not(unless the game is made bad like what is happening with Twitter). It’s Minecraft. Places such as Empires, Hermitcraft, The Life Series, etc show that the content doesn’t have to be formulaic and same-feeling. But I know one thing for sure. He gave me a clock!
(But yeah I do see your points. Not sure about companies dying, if effort is put in they can definitely stay a company but yeah there is a fair chance Microsoft goes down taking Minecraft’s updates with it)
I feel like Minecraft won't die, as long as they update it. They now have adults who are nostalgic and kids who are interested constantly waiting for that next update.
I don’t know who you are and how you’re in my recommended when I don’t watch or play minecraft anymore, but you’ve just made me wanna revisit my old survival worlds on Java Edition and mess around on Hypixel XD
What I think the future will have: Imagine, the year is 2050. Minecraft still exists and is bigger than ever before, millions of people play Minecraft every day. Millions of servers exist with many game modes. There are people out there who have been playing Minecraft for multiple decades. Many people have seen dozens of updates over the years and watched Minecraft grow, shrink, die, revive, and grow again over and over. The community is split into two, those who have been playing Minecraft for years and have decades worth of playtime and experience, and those who have just started playing Minecraft due to one of the recent revivals. People who played Minecraft when they were kids are now showing their kids how to play Minecraft. Mini-game wise, there are the classics like Soleef and Bedwars, and new game modes that could only be done with the most recent Minecraft updates and the features that they bring. The classic games have gone through several cycles of dying and reviving. A few Bedwars sweats from the 2020’s decided to touch grass one day and got a life, some of them grew up and had kids and are now showing their kids Bedwars in 2050. Many of the largest servers out there are family run. The owner’s kids would often learn how to admin a server when they were young and inherit the server when their parent retired. Not all servers take on this family approach, some servers have been sold several times. Some servers die, others pop up, things change… but one thing that has not changed is the spirit and wonder of Minecraft. The core of Minecraft is the same, even under all the new updates the spirit and wonder that Minecraft brings will always stay with it.
There will be another game that comes out that will surpass Minecraft and contain e everything we love about Minecraft, basically I think Minecraft won't die, but ultimately the community and desire will die first, as it'll be replaced
Age of Empires 2 just got a new DLC and still has a viable player base. That's a game from 1999!!! Minecraft isn't going anywhere any time soon. Even if they lose half the current player base, that's still enough to continue the game, though in a lesser way. Some things just work across generations. Minecraft came out with its crappy graphics and STILL became popular. Also, many in the Minecraft community were declaring the end of the game when 1.9 came out... we are now at 1.20.
I don't think it's possible for minecraft to die. Even during those 5 years where it received no updates it may have been considered cringe but it was still atleast top 10-25 most played games
I think you made very good points, but let me say my point of view. I hink that it will last basically forever, since everyday new players start to play it. But as a matter of facts, many players are starting to lose interest in the game. Me personally, i find it very repetative. In the past 3 years i played it for thousands of hours. Now i dont enjoy pvp, building, survival or anything else. If we keep losing players like this quicker than gaining, it might be the end. But thats another view so you can compare.
Even when minecraft gets its final update, people will still like to revisit it, for the simple fact that it taps into the part of the human mind that likes to be creative.
If it ever does at this rate. Even if a beta is released before the end of 2024, they've well and truly made a mess of their marketing campaign - the Hytale fanbase has now really dwindled. They're kind of a perfect example of the communication problems I mentioned in this video.
Honestly I don't see Minecraft lasting many more years later, at least not in its super popular state. The big divides with updates and controversial decisions are a big factor, but also good updates are what keeps the majority of the players continually playing. If updates stopped, only a fraction of players would keep playing consistently. And remember before 1.9 there was a full year without any updates and not much hype for any either, and that also decreased popularity. MC is not a perfect game, and while the updates help, it's often a bandage in a bigger issue, its many big flaws preventing it to reach its full potential.
I'm not sure about Java, but I know Bedrock doesn't really let you go back to older versions. If they add that feature, I will probably never leave the game, as I can go back to older versions if there is a really bad update.
@@MagmaMelon Ok, cool. I'm a little dissapointed that Java has a lot more features, but I guess since Bedrock is designed for slower devices it makes sense.
Minecraft will become increasingly saturated. With each update's new content being an increasingly smaller percentage of the total content. Eventually a saturation point will be reached and the game will decline from there. It's possible that the saturation point has already been reached, we will know when looking back in hindsight. Or I could be completely wrong. This is just the idea I had.
Yeah, I think there's something in that. That's why I believe Minecraft would really benefit from a new dimension which isn't only there to link back into the Overworld gameplay progression. It would allow an entire other world with a "saturation level" of 0 at the beginning. That said, it's very difficult to implement something like that without it feeling modded. In any case, really good point :)

i think its important to remember that minecraft will always remembered
Okay Thanks for the information
This comment made me tear up from how beautiful it is. Truly it is important to remember that minecraft will always remembered.
As far as I'm concerned it dies when I die, or if they add a thirst meter
I feel like Minecraft won't die, as long as they update it. They now have adults who are nostalgic and kids who are interested constantly waiting for that next update.
I truly believe Minecraft will last us another 10 or 20 years.
And I will never stop playing
Same
I love the simply sarc inspired style of using the game itself to create interesting B roll footage, really is an under-utilized style

Great to hear! Glad you enjoyed :)
Honestly if Minecraft's popularity was at a moderate but not insanely huge level, I wouldn't mind.

The idea of bedwars players having lives and families defies belief.
@@MagmaMelon Yeah, it's a bit of a stretch i know, but hey who knows what will happen in the future!

short answer: it wont
heck yeah man, I have no words except for the fact I 100% agree.

Microsoft will squeeze it dry, i have no doubts about that.
Nothing dies, people just move on.
I think it's more that people moving on is what causes things to die.
@@MagmaMelon Just think the community would still be there, but people move on, I'd consider it dead when officially the community is gone.
As long as they’re more people joining the community, then leaving the game will continue.
Even when minecraft gets its final update, people will still like to revisit it, for the simple fact that it taps into the part of the human mind that likes to be creative.
Top tier vid :)
I miss spleef so much it was my favorite 😭

With Java you can go back to pretty much every version, including snapshots. Huge advantage.

minecraft will never go away. it's a microsoft product, they don't go away
Minecraft is not the type of game that dies.
The 2nd of November it’s my birthday lol 10:15
wow
When they stop updating the game. OK next one please 💪👶🤳
