I really think the video jchlatt did back in the day really brought this game back through nostalgia and pure interest. I really think that and the new wave of SMPs during 2019 really skyrocketed minecraft back into the place it truly deserves to be, and I couldn't be happier.
My first minecraft video i watched was X's adventures the day it came out. I vividly remember waiting for each new episode to watch with my younger sister. I was in middle school back then, and now im finished my degree and moved out years ago. My god times fly, but i will always have memories of that playthrough and the times i ended up having with minecraft, all the way up until mid way through my time at Uni. Minecraft is forever, im going to be old and grey and tell my grandkids about that funny little block game.
I still remember my first “forever world” on my PS3 back in elementary. Man I’d do whatever to relive those years. I just graduated and turned 18. Now it’s time to venture off into the real world but this game will still always be in my game library. I built my first rig about 2 years ago but it just doesn’t feel the same. Don’t get me wrong I still have fun with the game on Java especially because I’ve always wanted to play that version bc my favorite RUclipsrs played it but nothing will ever beat the summer vacation early mornings and late nights on mc without a care in the world. I miss those days🥲
The Yogscast (or BlueXephos as the channel was originally called before they became a content creator group) was the first channel I ever saw when I went on RUclips for the first time back in like 2011-ish, I still watch them daily, and they, along with Minecraft itself, will always hold a special place in my heart.
Man this was really well done! Wish it could get more recognition. I'm glad you added so many RUclipsrs into it from all different areas of the community!

@@10ksubswithnovidschallenge78 I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. Nothing is a masterpiece. Nothing is perfect. You may not like my opinion, but I'm kind of waiting for Minecraft to fully run it's course and end. The biggest reason behind that, is because I'm starting to get annoyed seeing it everywhere, and as well as "Fully run it's course and end" is what each game does. Not saying these things because I hate Minecraft, I actually fairly love it. It was in fact one of my first played games. But now, I just feel like it's enough.
8:35 made some water form in my eyes man. Wish I could forget Minecraft sometimes and go back to when I didn't know what coal was and I built a dirt castle with my brothers. Also yeah as soon as I got a good pc I tried to stretch MC to its limit.

I don’t understand how this channel doesn’t have more popularity. But I know for a fact your channels gonna grow, it has to. Keep pushing out good content man. It’s incredible.
1:52 I never even thought about this, but imagine having your small indie game pick up so much steam that you can have an entire convention before the first full version of your game is actually out
I think when it comes to Minecraft's popularity I have to say for me at least it was not about Minecraft becoming popular it was more about having fun in game that you can git loss in for hours or maybe years. To simplify its more about the experience you create well playing the game. That's what it was always like for me for years. Minecraft blowing up for the first time just increased my enjoyment for the game but even after other games took it's spot I stilled played the game when everybody thought it was a "dead game". But still this is my own opinion maybe other people have different views about popularity on RUclips with Minecraft.
I'm probably going to play Minecraft for more than half my lifespan, and that's kind of scary. There's a good fucking chance I'll boot up the game for the first time in 10 years when my hypothetical children ask me if I've heard of minecraft. Hell, there probably won't even be a 10 year gap. I've been going 12 years strong, I can keep going. I honestly just want to see how far I can take it. Imagine asking your dad or grand dad about some game you and your friends just found and it turns out he's been playing for 40 to 60+ years already. It's probably like finding out your grandpa was an avid skateboarder in the 1950's.
I remember picking up on Minecraft from a teens game magazine I used to read, and from RUclips. I carried the magazine with me and read the feature story over and over until my parents got me a laptop and I could finally play Minecraft. That was in 2012, over ten damn years ago and I still play Minecraft!
I hope this game remains as one of the few constants in life. I want my children's children's children to play Minecraft. I want this game to outlive me and everyone I know. I want this thing to be studied by aliens 14,000 years in the future. I want to be buried in this game. I want to die by being blown up by a creeper. I live by the craft. I will most likely die by the craft. I will be forgotten by the craft. But the craft will never be forgotten by me.
Dude it's just a game not a whatever nothing can live forever and that what you say is crazy in future there will be a game like Minecraft but maybe better there will be inspired games but the original you can't play anymore
CREEPEER AWWWW MAAAAN deadass tho, i doubt I'll ever truly get bored of this game considering I legit spent time playing it since it's release, the music is the major factor for this gem I truly do see myself playing it 10 years for now, just the amount the fanbase has done to make it interesting never fades for me
Wow I honestly thought this guy had several hundred thousands subscribers with how high quality this content is, and I'm happy to help him to get there
I first started playing minecraft in 2013 on the ps3 and stopped playing during 2017 when I was mid way through high school. But I eventually came back to it in 2020 and I’ve been playing it since. I then took a break about halfway through last year and picked up the controller again this week. Minecraft is just that game that you never delete and it’s always there. You will always decide randomly to play it and get hooked for months.
I started playing Minecraft in 2016 on my Wii U, and the only reason I ever got to play it in the first place was because a relative bought a copy for me. I had no interest in Minecraft until I got it on Wii U and then it became my favourite game, and I haven't stopped playing it since. Minecraft is such a uniquely powerful game, and I'm glad I got to experience it for so long.
3:30 the extreme dip there ... that was a ... sadly successful ddos-attack landing perfectly on hypixel, leading a lot of those people over to wynncraft.. who were also hit by the attack.. the difference: wynncraft was able to recover from it faster... I don't know specific reasons. To show how many people were now on Wynncraft for about one week one world in wynncraft can hold 40 people and on an average day, the highest world you'll find is 30-40 or so during that week... the worlds were constantly above 100 There were SO many people from hypixel in wynncraft that wynncraft players started mocking and talking shit about 'all the hypixel kiddies that should just stay away from wynncraft' or something like that also.. loot chests start empty on a new server. they fill up over time and get better contents the longer they're closed. if someone opens one, they get what's inside.. abd then the chest restarts its cycle from the beginning also, normally a world restarted after being up for about 7-8 hours during that week, there were servers that were up for 50-52 hours and there was not a single lootchest that contained more than 2-5 emeralds.. throw in the occasional unidentified unique item.. the lowest quality of loot it was awful... Feels like a war flashback... the first hit of the ddos-attack was immediately visible someone sent a message that everyone on the server could see: "Don't move any important items in your inventory right now, the servers are under attack which will probably delete those items because of the lag" at first i thought it was a joke it didn't affect me too much since my wifi connection was almost always as laggy as on that day but then I saw a level 101 player running from level 20 zombies... and they asked me, a level 40 mage, for help i helped them and learned that they lost their entire armor set because they wanted to make sure it wouldn't be deleted... but exactly that deleted the armor Detlas, a city in wynn where people from all levels normally gathered.. mostly lvl 10-40 players though.. since lvl 100 players and such had access to better areas .... this small city was now overrun by lvl 100 players who were trying to recover from the server attack I was lucky that I wasn't hit as hard.. the only thing I lost was a level 20 rare helmet... not too much.. compared to several pieces of legendary or even mythic armor or weapons... I still feel bad for those people
I think in late 2012, I began to see Minecraft for the first time. A person playing one of the first mini games. After that I began to play Minecraft and enjoy it ever since.
It’s so strange to me that so many people experienced X’s series as their first exposer to Minecraft My first experience was with PaulSoaresJr I believe he was actually the first person to start making a Minecraft survive series on RUclips and genuinely seems like a great guy, still makes some Minecraft videos to this day
Honestly though, I can’t see this game lasting a lot longer with how Microsoft and mojang are currently handling the game, low quality low effort updates, constant failed promises, focus on money over community, etc etc. it’s getting worse and worse and I’m wondering how long we have till most people get tired of the way the games heading.
@@Nick_Skywalker explain what they’ve taken out then? Because from what I’ve seen all they been doing is adding a lot to the game and it’s actually really fun now
Minecraft keeps updating and adding new features which makes it extend its life span for another 5 years with the pace the devs are going and adding stuff rn if say Minecraft will last for another decade or so, the longer it's alive the more features it gets And don't forget about the mods
Beautiful video and explanation, though not to the point, but I love it. And that quote at the end, man, words can’t even describe how nostalgic it is. And, the thing is, I remember playing MC in 2019, then I quit. I thought I quit. But that was just a break, getting my inspiration little by little again with creators hyping it up. I finally took interest in redstone, and I came back in 2021. Every game is like this. You get bored of the game, thinking it’s not fun anymore. But, you will come back. You will eventually play that game again. (Except those you hate, of course) Remember, a game may end, but your memories, they last a lifetime. No, not even a lifetime. Forever. It will pass down to your children, grandchildren, and even more. Thank you for reading, and goodbye.
The two creators that got me into the game was Caliform and The Yogscast. Those two were pivotal in my love for the game. Its crazy how important this game is to not only me, but so many other people. I’ll never forget the moments had and am excited to make new ones.
Damn watching some of the older versions just brought back a wave of nostalgia damn those days were the best, watching syndicate yogscast trying to play Minecraft with a potatoe getting like 2 frames. Truly the golden years

May the algorithm bless you, you make such high quality videos that I'm amazed I only recently discovered you upload.
This video brought tears to my eyes just from pure nostalgia and all the memories I've made playing this game
Damn truth ❤️
Man this was really well done! Wish it could get more recognition. I'm glad you added so many RUclipsrs into it from all different areas of the community!
"And while there might come a day where I eventually place my last block and log out of the game forever, there will always be someone new, logging onto the game for the first time and placing the first block on their own journey with Minecraft"
God damn
"How long will minecraft last?" 2024-2025 if microsoft continues with its current dirrection
Be right back, gonna go leave a world idling and see how long it takes for my pc to explode. Then we'll get a definite answer on its longevity
Your channel is about to blow up. Remember us.
I've been looking for more short form gaming essay style content (a weird niche I know) and I've finally found it. Definitely subscribing.
I remember playing with my babysitter and brother on xbox and it gives so much nostalgia, minecraft has impacted so many people, even if the game will ever die people wont forgot the good times they had on it.
A game for all generations
For real, minecraft is a masterpiece
@@10ksubswithnovidschallenge78 true
@@TheCasualGuy2 yooo its michael :O
@@10ksubswithnovidschallenge78 I wouldn't call it a masterpiece. Nothing is a masterpiece. Nothing is perfect. You may not like my opinion, but I'm kind of waiting for Minecraft to fully run it's course and end. The biggest reason behind that, is because I'm starting to get annoyed seeing it everywhere, and as well as "Fully run it's course and end" is what each game does. Not saying these things because I hate Minecraft, I actually fairly love it. It was in fact one of my first played games. But now, I just feel like it's enough.
@@simasonas most autistic people take stuff "literally" if you didn't know
8:35 made some water form in my eyes man. Wish I could forget Minecraft sometimes and go back to when I didn't know what coal was and I built a dirt castle with my brothers. Also yeah as soon as I got a good pc I tried to stretch MC to its limit.
All of your videos look so amazing and have great quality! Your commentary and explanation of things actually feels real, and nothing in this channels content seems like it’s fake or clickbait. I don’t understand how this channel doesn’t have more popularity. But I know for a fact your channels gonna grow, it has to. Keep pushing out good content man. It’s incredible.
What a delightful love letter to the game that brought so many people together
Really enjoyed the quality of the video, adding statistical values was a chef's kiss.
however long that time was 1.19.1 100% shortened it
I legit found your channel like 50 minutes ago and I’ve binged like half your videos. what a coincidence that you’ve uploaded this very instance.
1:52 I never even thought about this, but imagine having your small indie game pick up so much steam that you can have an entire convention before the first full version of your game is actually out
Nearly 10K. You've done it, my man. Congratulations. Absolutely deserved, and more on the way. Good luck!
A few days after this videos anniversary I'm watching it again and oh god, it be killing itself

"And while there might come a day, where I eventually place my last block and log out of the game"
This broke my heart a bit
@@rpe I'll actually try doing this now
I think when it comes to Minecraft's popularity I have to say for me at least it was not about Minecraft becoming popular it was more about having fun in game that you can git loss in for hours or maybe years.
The quality of your channel is insane i love it
I'm probably going to play Minecraft for more than half my lifespan, and that's kind of scary.
Actually growing up with minecraft and terraria since I was a kid, this got me in the FEELS.
"@soupbane1688 was blown up by a Creeper."
Dude it's just a game not a whatever nothing can live forever and that what you say is crazy in future there will be a game like Minecraft but maybe better there will be inspired games but the original you can't play anymore
Amazing video brother. I'm glad I found this channel.
You're going to be big one day, I just know it. :)
This did not age well in 1 year
How?
Why not?
Every time I start playing Minecraft nowadays I think it’s my last time but I always find myself coming back months or even years later.
How do you not have at least a million subs? I love these short essay videos! Keep it up! :D
9:26 why that was so nostalgic 🥺
It doesn't matter how long this game will last, i'm sure it will always have a place in our hearts.
Glad SMPLive was credited to bringing it back cuz i dont hear that a lot
"How long will Minecraft last?"
"Yes."
0:33 i love how the non minecraft streamers have like 20x the stream time
CREEPEER AWWWW MAAAAN
deadass tho, i doubt I'll ever truly get bored of this game considering I legit spent time playing it since it's release, the music is the major factor for this gem
I truly do see myself playing it 10 years for now, just the amount the fanbase has done to make it interesting never fades for me
This video was amazing, it gave me chills while I watched it 😄
That outro really gets you thinking.
I feel like the chat report system will most likely make Minecraft drop in popularity.
One of the best videos I've watched in a while... You kept me hooked the whole time, and that's rare :D

Ohh another Wii U player
The god finally has made it
As long as your imagination is full of ideas, this game will never die.
3:30 the extreme dip there ... that was a ... sadly successful ddos-attack landing perfectly on hypixel, leading a lot of those people over to wynncraft.. who were also hit by the attack..
the difference: wynncraft was able to recover from it faster... I don't know specific reasons. To show how many people were now on Wynncraft for about one week
one world in wynncraft can hold 40 people
and on an average day, the highest world you'll find is 30-40 or so
during that week... the worlds were constantly above 100
There were SO many people from hypixel in wynncraft that wynncraft players started mocking and talking shit about 'all the hypixel kiddies that should just stay away from wynncraft' or something like that
also.. loot chests start empty on a new server. they fill up over time and get better contents the longer they're closed. if someone opens one, they get what's inside.. abd then the chest restarts its cycle from the beginning
also, normally a world restarted after being up for about 7-8 hours
during that week, there were servers that were up for 50-52 hours
and there was not a single lootchest that contained more than 2-5 emeralds.. throw in the occasional unidentified unique item.. the lowest quality of loot
it was awful...
Feels like a war flashback...
the first hit of the ddos-attack was immediately visible
someone sent a message that everyone on the server could see:
"Don't move any important items in your inventory right now, the servers are under attack which will probably delete those items because of the lag"
at first i thought it was a joke
it didn't affect me too much since my wifi connection was almost always as laggy as on that day
but then I saw a level 101 player running from level 20 zombies... and they asked me, a level 40 mage, for help
i helped them and learned that they lost their entire armor set because they wanted to make sure it wouldn't be deleted... but exactly that deleted the armor
Detlas, a city in wynn where people from all levels normally gathered.. mostly lvl 10-40 players though.. since lvl 100 players and such had access to better areas .... this small city was now overrun by lvl 100 players who were trying to recover from the server attack
I was lucky that I wasn't hit as hard.. the only thing I lost was a level 20 rare helmet... not too much.. compared to several pieces of legendary or even mythic armor or weapons...
I still feel bad for those people
Minecraft always loses popularity and then EXPLODES again every few years
ngl... brought a tear to my eye thinking about placing my last minecraft block and logging out forever...
now i think minecraft will die in next 6 years
died a few days ago (1.19.1)
@@gamerchild4 you guys need to understand the meaning of a game being dead
3:25 ah yes, the dark ages
This is beginning to have aged badly
Did you even watch this video? lol I’m assuming not considering your comment
A game might be more addicting than minecraft, but a person will get bored of ot eventually, minecraft is the only game i can't get bored of
I think in late 2012, I began to see Minecraft for the first time. A person playing one of the first mini games. After that I began to play Minecraft and enjoy it ever since.
Minecraft will last until Microsoft kills it
So two days ago?
It’s so strange to me that so many people experienced X’s series as their first exposer to Minecraft
My first experience was with PaulSoaresJr I believe he was actually the first person to start making a Minecraft survive series on RUclips and genuinely seems like a great guy, still makes some Minecraft videos to this day
Honestly though, I can’t see this game lasting a lot longer with how Microsoft and mojang are currently handling the game, low quality low effort updates, constant failed promises, focus on money over community, etc etc. it’s getting worse and worse and I’m wondering how long we have till most people get tired of the way the games heading.
i agree
Nah the updates are definitely high quality tf are you on about
@@pearbuns101 if you see all the things they've taken out or has essentially given people false hope, you'll see what they're talking about more.
@@Nick_Skywalker explain what they’ve taken out then? Because from what I’ve seen all they been doing is adding a lot to the game and it’s actually really fun now
Yeah and the chat censorship
Minecraft keeps updating and adding new features which makes it extend its life span for another 5 years with the pace the devs are going and adding stuff rn if say Minecraft will last for another decade or so, the longer it's alive the more features it gets
And don't forget about the mods
Beautiful video and explanation, though not to the point, but I love it. And that quote at the end, man, words can’t even describe how nostalgic it is.
And, the thing is, I remember playing MC in 2019, then I quit. I thought I quit. But that was just a break, getting my inspiration little by little again with creators hyping it up. I finally took interest in redstone, and I came back in 2021.
Every game is like this. You get bored of the game, thinking it’s not fun anymore. But, you will come back. You will eventually play that game again. (Except those you hate, of course)
Remember, a game may end, but your memories, they last a lifetime. No, not even a lifetime. Forever. It will pass down to your children, grandchildren, and even more.
Thank you for reading, and goodbye.
this hits different after 1.19.1
yep
4:38 I don't think I could have summed it up better than this
this aged like milk
You don’t quit from Minecraft you just take a long break
The two creators that got me into the game was Caliform and The Yogscast. Those two were pivotal in my love for the game. Its crazy how important this game is to not only me, but so many other people. I’ll never forget the moments had and am excited to make new ones.
Me too but Unspeakable was the one to get me into minecraft
Damn watching some of the older versions just brought back a wave of nostalgia damn those days were the best, watching syndicate yogscast trying to play Minecraft with a potatoe getting like 2 frames. Truly the golden years
