So I’m thinking about getting the same setup. I’m 5’8” and roughly 185lbs and usually wear xl jackets and large pants. What would you recommend for size I should get?

I think those size choices would work. Im 6' 240lb and went with an xxl jacket for layering and true size pants for what I normally wear (XL).

Is the jacket insulated

No. It's a rain coat. I use it over jackets that breathe to cut wind and rain or snow.
