This song hits me hard too. I haven’t seen my biological father since age 7, I’m in my 50’s. My stepfather was an abusive, you know what, who I haven’t spoke to in years. My grandmother, his mother, died a couple years ago. I went to visit my grandfather, his father, and his siblings were there. I had to pretend and play nice for certain conversations. In reality I don’t care about him
I'm the biggest Queensryche fan ever. I have all their albums (With Geoff Tate) and saw them live several times. BUT....I hate "Silent Lucidity' and so did the band.
My friends and I were at a hotel in Orlando in the late 80’s. We were going to see Genesis on the Invisible Touch tour. As we were walking down the hallway to go to the show someone yelled “where are you losers going”? There were a bunch of rowdy guys in their hotel room. We told them we were going to see Genesis and they all laughed. I still remember one of the guys said “they’re not a real band….we’re a Real band”! When we asked who they were they responded “Faster Pussycat”. We challenged them to a game of quarters and drank them under the table. I think of that every time I hear that band!
I just went back and listened to "Poison Ivy" as well, and it's FIRE all right. I'm not sure how I mostly forgot about this band. They definitely stood out from the crowded hair band scene of the time. The song came back to me instantly even though I haven't heard it in decades. It's so fun and rocks so hard, I bet Jay and Amber will love it!
We’re Not Gonna Take It- Twisted Sister and Wait -White Lion. Two great songs and very confident both of you will like em. Love to see you get back to both of these bands. Please make sure for We’re Not Gonna Take it, do the video. It is iconic. Thanks for this great reaction!
If you want an overlooked hair band thar had a rockin sound, I would recommend "Bullet Boys." Songs; "Smooth up in ya" and "For the love of money." The lead singers' vocals are fire! 👨🎤🔥
I remember when this song came out I cried so hard. I cried because my relationship with my on /off again dad was this song. Only someone who experienced this could write a song this great. Then came along the REAL man my mom married and I have called him my dad all my life. I unfortunately had to make a life and death decision on my sperm donor being his oldest child after not seeing him for over 12yrs. My true heartbreak came when my dad died several yrs later. A truly great song I had forgotten thank you for playing this. Plus Faster Pussy was one of my favorite bands.
@@michaelasay8587 check out their version of the song You’re So Vain. It is great. Faster Pussycat used to play at a bar in my town in the 80’s and I worked across the road and the guys from the bands at the bar would come and check on me if I worked midnights.
Faster Pussycat is an underrated band from this genre/era that still holds up very well today. Their album "Wake Me When Its Over" was always a great album from beginning to end. I hesitate to call it a "perfect album", because i havent listened to it in its entirety in years, but I dont remember a less-than-good song on the album. They wrote a song on their next album called Mr Lovedog that is about Andrew Wood from Mother Love Bone (subject of the whole Temple of the Dog album....Would by Alice In Chains....Outshined by Soundgarden...Far Behind by Candlebox...etc etc). These guys "got it" and are worth checking out more from them (and Mother Love Bone obviously). They do a great cover of Carly Simon's "Youre So Vain" that is definitely worth checking out. Mother Love Bone has a soft one called Stargazer and a banger called Bone China. Love Rock Awaits You, People!
ZEBRA is another great band “take your fingers from my Hair”, “Who’s behind the door” and “one more chance” are songs y’all must not miss out on! Love you guys ❤ ✌🏼
Great White is one of the great 80’s hair bands that I love so much and this is such an amazing tune that they did. Seeing it being performed in concert was heavenly for sure!
As soon as I saw this song, I knew Amber would connect with the message & discuss the deepness. It was an unusual song for the time because “hair bands” didn’t typically get this serious, even in their ballads. This is a great one from an underrated band. Great reaction too!
Finally one that I request twice here after seeing others played before Faster Pussycat this was the hit song to introduce them to you both, But checkout a cover of a Carly Simon song "You're So Vain (Lead Vocal voice stands out) " "Slip of the Tongue" "Bathroom Wall" "Poison Ivy" "Babylon" "Where There's a Whip There's a Way" "Don't Change that Song" (15 second silent intro) GREAT set of tunes from Faster Pussycat. Faster Pussycat is an American glam metal band from Los Angeles, formed in 1985 by vocalist TAIME DOWNE, guitarists Greg Steele and Brent Muscat and bassist Kelly Nickels. ENJOY them!
Faster Pussycat came out the same time as Guns N Roses and L.A. Guns. All three bands had members in the former bands Hollywood Rose and the original L.A. Guns. Faster Pussycat held on to the glam image where the other two did not. House of Pain was their biggest song. A rocker from them would be Cathouse. The song is about a bar they played at run by Riki Rachtman who hosted Headbangers Ball in the eighties. The show was the few hours that MTV gave to metal each week. He hosted a NASCAR show and House of Love with Brett Michaels later.
Ohhh, I love this bit of trivia! I had forgotten all of this, but it's coming back to me. I could never keep track of who had been in which of these bands.

I had a similar experience with my Grandmother. So I apologize bud, It felt really shitty having a grandparent treat me like that. I can only imagine how you must feel when it's your dad. The last physical intereaction I had with her was over 30 years ago when I was 13. I planned a trip to visit her for the day. She lived about 2 hours away. I got there, she put on the television on a baseball game and told me to watch tv she had things to do. Around Noon I asked her what she wanted to do for lunch. She gave me a cup of microwaved water, and a chicken bullion cube. Again told me she had things to do. She didn't even hug me or walk me out when my mom came to pick me up. She just said your moms pulling up in the drive way make sure you got all your stuff. Let yourself out.
I had a similar experience. Didn’t see my father for 27 years. Met him before he passed. He was ok, still dealing with same problems my mom told me about. I forgive him. I have a Heavenly Father who never gave up on me.

I was friends with all the guys except Tamie, the lead singer. I got to be a videographer for part of the “Wake me when it’s over” tour and a credit shout out on the album notes. They are a super tight band, awesome live. Tamie and Riki Rachman ran the infamous Cathouse rock club back in the day. It was truly wild. I’d recommend you start with Bathroom Wall, Poison Ivy and Don’t change that song. They were awesome.
Saw them live as the opening act for Motley Crue in the early 90’s - great show! This song has always been one of my favorite ballads from that time period. Someone commented about and suggested Queensryche - ‘Silent Lucidity’, which I would wholeheartedly agree with! Great song with a singer who was, I believe, classically trained and with unbelievable, soaring instrumentation as well. I listened to that for hours on repeat the night my grandmother died on Christmas Eve about 10 years ago. Still brings back a flood of memories every time I hear it. Do yourselves a favor and review that one very soon!!
i think at 2:42 amber realized what the song was about just by her reaction.. seen faster pussycat live in 1990 with kiss and slaughter and in 1989 with motley crue and it was awesome both times
80's GLAM HAIR BANDS I love the GREATEST ERA!!!! Songs by FASTER PUSSYCAT you need to check out "BATHROOM WALL" "POISON IVY" They DEFINITELY ROCK And a cover song called "YOU'RE SO VAIN" It KIX-A
Saw them in concert with Motley Crue in 80. They were good. Y’all need to give a reaction to Damn Yankees - Come Again. Jordan you will love the guitar solo and you both will love the harmonizing. Come Again is so much better than High Enough.
Finally!!!! I've been requesting them since I started following you. I knew you would like them. Along with the ones suggested below you can check out "Babylon" "Nonstop to Nowhere" "Ship Rolls In" or "Where There's a Whip". I have always thought of them as Glam of Poison+ Sleaze of Motley Crue+ Grit of Cinderella=Faster Pussycat
Aww nice to c u guys doing these guys. My schoolmate was the drummer in this band. Brett Bradshaw. He died 3 years ago in April. He followed his dream starting out his life in Ct. and moved out to cali and made his dream come true, toured the world, lived the life of a rock star, band broke up, he didn’t have much when he left this world but his contribution to the band lives on in the songs😔
TY, Jay & Amber, as always. I always liked Faster Pussycat (named after an old movie). You should also do a video for Don't Change that Song, Bathroom Wall and No Room for Emotion.
Amber...you are so genuine with your reaction. The kitchen scene changed it for you. You felt it. You knew....wait, hold up, this is about a conflicted little boy. Trust me, Ive heard this song hundreds of times and STILL, it gets me when I hear the lyrics of this boy waiting for his dad to come home, to make it right, to fill the void left when he left him and his mom. A very common story of Gen X'ers and those who from broken homes including homes with domestic abuse. Not an easy tune to listen to once it captures your attention. Poison Ivy is a rocker.
really appreciate you guys , and your love for all genres , especially the 80s hard rock scene … so genuine in all your reactions and never afraid to show your emotions
Rob Squad did it already. It was actually touching bc they had a death in the family before and some tears were slightly visible. They're reaction made me love the song even more.
BATHROOM WALL is a massive fun 80's banger by Faster Pussycat... true Sunset Strip pioneers in the 80's. Never got as huge as GNR or Poison or Warrant etc.... but they began it all with a few others back then
First time hearing this song, i was 17yrs old with long hair myself. and living life (lol) im 51yrs old now and still love this song ,but living life as an adult
Hey guys, ever hear of Night Ranger? Great 80s rock band. "You Can Still Rock In America" and "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" to great rock songs to start with.
Awesome to see the reaction of Faster Pussycat. They have great hair metal sounds but the stuff they did in the early 90's had an alternative vibe to it. Nonstop to No Where was one I think you two would like it 👍🎶
Non Stop to Nowhere is amazing. It’s really well-crafted and shows how much they progressed since their first album where those songs seem so juvenile in comparison.
MTV had a top 10 request show before TRL called Dial MTV and this song along with another ballad " Reason To Live" by KISS dominated the top spot around the same time. You should hear that KISS tune also. Its great.
This song hit me about 2 years after I left my house of pain. Yeah, I came from a broken home, but I left at 18 and refused to bring that pain into my home.
This hits hard. I was raised in shared custody and there were times I'd wait for hours to be picked up, ma or pops. But they were late, or didn't even show up. I'd wait on the porch til it got dark and I got called back in for bath/bedtime. And hoped, maybe tomorrow, I'd see them
This band was great, but never really broke out. This song did, but not as much as they could. The singer co-owned a club with Rikki Rachtman called the Cathouse wh8xh is still going today. My favorite song by them is Bathroom Wall off their debut album because it is so fun to play on the drums. Their second album Wake Me When It's Over had this song on it...check out the title track or Whete There's A Whip, There's A Way. They were also featured in the documentary The Decline Of Western Civilization 2 The Metal Years which you should react to. You'll get a good idea of what the 80s metal scene was about, especially the Sunset Strip. My band was actually supposed to be in it...we got filmed at the Trubador but ended up on the cutting room floor.
Is Cathouse still going?! In '87 my friend and I were at a Billy Idol/The Cult show at the old Forum in L.A. Our ride ditched us & we were stranded. These random guys said they'd give us a ride back into town. We walked outside, a limo pulled up & some photogs took pictures. It was like 5 guys, some from Faster Pussycat & some from L.A. Guns. They were very cool, acted like normal people & drove us to the Cathouse on La Cienaga, which was their destination. We went inside & they melted into the crowd with their people, lol. We immediately went to a record store on Sunset to look for their records, but the guy said they only had a band called Guns n Roses, not L.A. Guns, lol! Guns n Roses was a few months from blowing up, so we're like no, we don't want that crap! LOL. I left L.A. in the 90s, wouldn't have expected the Cathouse to survive all this time.

What kills me is when people say you have to forgive. No, no you really don't. I didn't shed a tear and never will. I'm good with it.

WOW ! Pretty much my story to the T. Mine died about 9 years ago and we hadnt spoken for 6 years before his death

Was glad a couple of years ago to hear this song on the Peacemaker show, and now glad to see it and the band getting more love.
Oh my this one reminds me of high-school so vividly. Great song...
Songs by FASTER PUSSYCAT you need to check out
"BATHROOM WALL"
"POISON IVY"
They DEFINITELY ROCK
And a cover song called
"YOU'RE SO VAIN"
It KIX-A
They were called power ballads! 80s hairbands-God love 'em!!!❤
Saw them in concert with Motley Crue in 80. They were good. Y’all need to give a reaction to Damn Yankees - Come Again. Jordan you will love the guitar solo and you both will love the harmonizing. Come Again is so much better than High Enough.
And "Where You Goin' Now" is better, too.
You must mean '90... neither of these bands existed in '80.
NICE! I always loved this song. Still in the playlist. Thanks.
These guys are still playing today. They are a blast!!
Btw, he’s the drummer in the band
I’ve seen them live five times… they hang out with fans after the show, awesome guys!!
Such an amazing song and band
I hung out with them when they played at the club I worked at in Detroit back in 1988.
Try Slaughter, Fly to the Angels. Great hair band ballad. Lead vocals are phenomenal!!!!
Rob Squad did it already. It was actually touching bc they had a death in the family before and some tears were slightly visible. They're reaction made me love the song even more.
Should have done "Bathroom Wall"
Came here to say this.
Or Cathouse. Or Babylon. Still all these years later still on the playlist.
Absolutely Bathroom Wall
BATHROOM WALL is a massive fun 80's banger by Faster Pussycat... true Sunset Strip pioneers in the 80's. Never got as huge as GNR or Poison or Warrant etc.... but they began it all with a few others back then
Had the cassette single of this, and WORE IT OUT!!
one of my favorite songs ever
Seen them in 91 in London for my birthday, was really ill at the time but loved it
you are right! they do really really rock !!
Started with DANGER DANGER their ballad I still about You. Have to hear BANG BANG, FEELS LIKE LOVE... And more!!!
Sweet set tonight guys bangers so far. Faster Pussycat are awesome do more from them
This was a really deep song and video. I remember when it hit MTV.
One of my favorite songs
2:57 that look on Amber's face says it all. She got it.
Indeed. Her immediate reaction shows what a great, caring mother she must be. Very touching.
They have 3 albums when come never stop sales on the oldies rock and good live saw them in la whisky great band
First time hearing this song, i was 17yrs old with long hair myself. and living life (lol) im 51yrs old now and still love this song ,but living life as an adult
Powerful video and lyrics⭐ Good one❤
My wife turned me on to this song over 30 years ago after learning about my childhood situation. I can relate.
Poison Ivy….Bathroom Wall….are 2 Rockin Pussycat songs!! Also,Your So Vain(Carly Simon Cover)!
Poison ivy was also one of their songs and they did an awesome job to Your so Vain.
well done. Rock on Rob Squad
My favorite Faster Pussycat song is Nonstop To Nowhere! :)
1970.....group called "JAGGERZ".....song called "The Rapper"
She'll have a good laugh if they do it
Jay you would also like Enuff Z'nuff "Fly High Michelle "
Use to love that song
Yes, great ballad from my fellow Illinoisans.
That's a good one!
You like it more than New Thing? That song rips.
Hey guys, ever hear of Night Ranger? Great 80s rock band. "You Can Still Rock In America" and "Don't Tell Me You Love Me" to great rock songs to start with.
I just saw them last Saturday night. Still awesome!
This brings back old memories I had to grow up and hit a major wild streak and it was painful hard time for me
one song that i have liked a lot since the late 80's from them was the song Babylon
Tami still sounds amazing to this day, only now he’s sober and can make the whole show. FP are legends.
‘Don’t change this song’ 80’s banger by Faster Pussycat
This was my song growing up without a father. Had to figure out all the man things myself. Ya, this one hits hard. Thanks for doing this one.
From the same album the song called Poison ivy by them or bathroom wall another good one
Great song! Faster Pussycat has some heavy tunes. Where There's A Whip There's A Way and Slip of the Tongue are kickers!
MTV had a top 10 request show before TRL called Dial MTV and this song along with another ballad " Reason To Live" by KISS dominated the top spot around the same time. You should hear that KISS tune also. Its great.
Faster Pussycat just rocks. Very underrated band. Always loved them!
I almost forgot about them. I had cassette tape of this album.
Watch him do it 30yrs later.. House of Pain. Festival in Columbia. That's Pain!!
This song hit me about 2 years after I left my house of pain.
Yeah, I came from a broken home, but I left at 18 and refused to bring that pain into my home.
The lyrics for Bathroom Wall rival those of Poison's Talk Dirty to Me
"I didn't write these pages and my scripts been rearranged" very powerful. Check out Bathroom Wall, Dont Change That Song, or Poison Ivy.
Their music is great! Most of their "Rockin'" stuff is NSFW music. If you listen to their stuff privately, listen to their first album- amazing music.
Doug Supernaw " I don't call him daddy", "Reno", " She never looks back", "Red & Rio Grand".
This hits hard. I was raised in shared custody and there were times I'd wait for hours to be picked up, ma or pops. But they were late, or didn't even show up. I'd wait on the porch til it got dark and I got called back in for bath/bedtime. And hoped, maybe tomorrow, I'd see them
Yeah well, watching reaction channels, I've heard the songs of my youth almost too many times. This one, I forgot about. Awesome.
