Hey bro! Just so you know. The s9 uses a different focus algorithm. You have PDAF in 1080p 60 instead of DFD. Like you said. Not sure why they did that but I’m pretty sure they will not give that feature to the S5ii/S5iix to keep their S9 aimed at content creators and not cripple sale price.
Dude, you just blew my mind! I had no idea the 1080 was Phase on the S9, just tested it out right now and it seems like 120 FHD is also PDAF, thanks for the tip!!
@@jeremybfilms Damn that was my one dislike with the S5II was no PDAF in 1080 60+ FPS, seems like the next Lumix camera is gonna be insane. Also I wouldn't recommend the 10-18 on the FF body, the noise floor is just too high, maybe i just prefer a cleaner image but I personally wouldnt accept the visual noise that even YT is compressing. Personally if I went back to Lumix id get the Laowa 10mm f/2.8 Zero-D FF, been using it on my A7S3, insane lens. Id accept the Laowa anyday just spending the extra $50+~ gets you an insane lens.
Using a APSC won’t make your f2.8 to f3.5 lens Only time you need to multiply the F stop is to accurately get the DOF a F2.8 crop lens will allow the same amount of “light” as a full frame F2.8 Great video
I also use the Sigma 10-18 with Lumix S5ii everyday for Real Estate and I love it. No complaints at all! Only thing would be great is to have is bigger zoom range (equivalent to 16-35 FF) but overall definitely a great buy.
I didnt even know that you could use APSC lenses on Full frame lmao. I ll definitely be getting 10-18 because of the cost savings and lighter weight. Would this only work for 60fps? How do we shoot 4k24,4k30 as well? Do we have to choose any specific recording format?

bro, please can you do a test where you use this lens on the lumix S5iix without APSC mode just to know if it’s usable at any focal length

Why is there more subject separation in the 16-28 FF vs the 10-18 APS-C?
@@jeremybfilms full frame sensors have more DOF than APSC.

A bigger zoom range would be sweet! I love getting those detail shots and it's hard to accomplish and I opt for cropping more in post.
Sweet magic trick at 2:15 and great video as always
16-28mm is a apsc lens too, so the same low light as the 10-18. I just picked one up love that little thing!
@@Kemstylebossy the 16-28 is full frame. I just looked it up on SIGMAs website.
@ oh word, I thought all there Contemporaries were apsc thanks for the update 👌🏿
@@Kemstylebossyno the contemporary is just their verbiage for their more basic, cheaper lenses.
@ ok get it now
Might have to grab this
Please create more videos on this combo. QUESTION - is this lens direct fit on Lumix S52X? Or do we require some kind of adapter to use this lens?
It's a direct fit, no need for adapters.
Was literally just looking into this!
you can use pixel to pixel mod to crop more
What about photography does the sensor auto crop to apsc because of the lens or do we have the option not to crop?
There's no option on the Lumix cameras (as far as I can tell) not to crop.
APS-C mode is around 10MPix, you can check it when you have APS-C lens on camera and switch to photo mode and go to settings and set quality photo

On Lumix bodies, it will automatically switch to APSC crop mode, when you connect an APSC lens to the body. Photos are then limited to 12mpx
@@DodyProduction Thanks for the information. What about video modes? Would 4k24 and 4k30 work?
