At £1550 you are laughing mate, great purchase, easy profit
Kazizilla Gaming those are only 5k anyway at best. That’s a good 2k in parts/labour anywhere. £1550 is the right money for it.
It’s a money pit
Was expensive at 1550
I would've given him 3 grand straight away. Just parting out the seats, rims and the Brembos will get my money back. All the rest is profit. It's beyond any logic why anyone would sell his Range for the same price as his last service, when he can easily get half grand only for them wheels!
@@eleonik76 absolutely, and if engine is in good nick that's worth over a grand on it's own.
Louis James
Exactly . Not sure how it’s “ easy “
The main reason that Range rovers have stunning interiors and heated seats is that your always waiting in comfort and heat for a tow truck to pick you up😆
Too right, the most unreliable 4x4 you can buy!
You could never have said a truer word so glad I got rid of mine.
Yep the most unreliable 4x4 you can buy, can get a lot better for £70k and more!
Absolute load of bollocks.
NOT bollocks mate, have the evidence to prove it, I have two relatives that work in the engineering department of Land Rover, they say that JLR use the cheapest outsourced parts possible to build their cars, its these parts that fail, I have know of several people here locally whom have handed their vehicles back to the dealers for a refund because they had nothing but one issue after another and they haved over to other brand 4x4........so NOT BOLLOCKS!
Good of you to fix the broken part's in the engine..it's a great looking range..👌🏽 can't wait for part 2
Great work so far. That is a ton of work to do just to tear down and inspect. Will be looking for the next one in this series.
Rob, this is a chance to show your mechanic skills and have a real interesting series of videos. They say luck is when preparation meets opportunity - well, you are prepared and here is the opportunity... Go For It!! 😁👍
You sound like jays dad from the inbetweeners.

Hung like a chipolata

YT comments never fails to make me laugh 🤣🤣
A bloody gay vicar
I am constantly learning new ways bay watch honest videos on RUclips. Taking the time to consider the option of repairing or replacing the engine, and explaining things by the weather as you find them, is very instructive! Continue this process, and I will follow up on commenting / asking! Thanks for a great start on this engine!
This guy is a genius and knows almost everything about cars.
Nice project rob ,love that this takes the channel in a different direction from just doing accident repairs 👍
Almost choked on my green tea when you said £1,550! Absolute bargain mate.
Crazy to think 4/5 years ago I gave £13k for a 55 reg HSE.
These are super popular cars at the moment, think my old video on here has almost hit 150k views
Best of luck with the journey on this one 😁
But it doesn't start.
@@jackjay3517 for the price he's paid it's worth more in parts. Nobody could say no to a Rangie this cheap, I absolutely loved my old one
They are shite cars.......
👌👏🤣
Had two brand new ones, they were the worst vehicles I have ever bought.
Both needed to go back to the main dealers far too often. Never again.
Toyota lc since .... never a problem
Excellent video and fantastic to see someone who repairs things like this. We live in a throw-away / write-off culture so to see this magnificent vehicle get the once over by someone who knows what they are doing does help restore some of my faith in our manufacturing / engineering prowess.
Best of luck getting this back up and running! Paul
Great video. I own a 07 hse same engine for the last 2 or 3 years. I love it but I’m always conscious something could go wrong. So videos like this are very informative ! Look forward to more of the same.
This was the 1st salvage rebuilds video I found randomly 3 years ago and I’ve been watching ever since 👍🏻
The wheels and brakes are worth more than you paid for the car, fair play my friend 👍🏼👍🏼
Rob - I'll keep my fingers crossed that the bottom end is ok - I look forward to seeing part 2 and your assessment of the damage - great purchase though - Clay.
I like the fact you go straight to the point with the video, no silly intros just straight to it. 👍
Oh my days! I think I love you! What an honest, passionate and professional legend.
Have only recently subscribed, but love how you actually love fixing these vehicles rather than taking the easy way out and breaking them down for parts. I'm in NZ, and many of these cars still cost a fortune, not only to buy if you can find them, but servicing & parts as well. I'm jealous of what's available in the UK & USA car markets. You do a great job & the cars look great when repaired.
Excellent video! I enjoy the down-to-earth way in which you deal with the issues. Many thanks!
Great video with solid commentary, your one positive chap around engines, more please.
Great video Rob, what tremendous skill & knowledge you have to be able to take this on. No doubt you’ll have a fantastic car for the money spent once you’ve got it all sorted.
You cant say no to a £1550 range rover, parts alone will see you alright! Looks like you've well into getting it done, I'd like to see the rebuild but let's see how the other side looks.
Have watched the complete rebuild which I found very interesting and informative. It was nice to hear that you would do appx 200miles prior to selling so you could ensure that the car would have no faults. Thank you.
Wow I will absolutely love this channel!! Can't wait for the rest
Glad I got recommended this channel, nothing better than a whole chunk of knowledge - good work good luck.
Very Informative and interesting video straight to the point and easy to follow, I enjoyed watching without getting my hands dirty!
Great video, good to listen to no nonsense information. Had an 07 V8 Rangie, best car I have owned and I’ve had a few. Look forward to the next videos.
Love your "have a go" attitude!👍
Loving this channel. Great choice for a UT project.
Great video. Really enjoyed it. Looking forward to the next update
No lie this is still my dream car. When I first saw these in 2007 especially in this colour and black with the beige interior. There are so many around but they are battered and bruised.
Great series of videos, really enjoyed watching the journey!
Another cool video! Bring on Parts 2 and 3. Thanks for posting, bro!
respect to you even trying to sort that lot out if i get more than 2 parts im lost as how they go back together good luck
2??? You're bragging.....1 and I'm screwed....
"whip it oout', Love you man.
Would love the mechanical side of things aswell even if it means the video becomes ridiculously long. Would love to see your work and how you fix cars rather than just flip it! Don’t skip the bits, those bits you skip are the best bits!!!! Keep it up fella
Dirty old bag.
A great project. I looking forward to seeing the next video
You’re a genius mate literally amazing work
Great vid, well explained. Looking forward to seeing how you get on 👍
Channel is growing fast, you deserve it man!
Great video love the flash forward hours of work in seconds 👍
Great work as always, looking forward to the updates 😎
I had the misfortune of owning one of these and a Vogue, I found a guranteed way to avoid all the expensive, endless issues whilst keeping the amazing off road ability and towing ability-I bought a Landcruiser!, never had a single issue, does exactly what it says on the tin, added bonus that they don't have the severe image problem Range Rovers unfortunately have too.
I could listen to this man all day. There's something soothing about his delivery
Excellent videos and your attitude is just perfect, proper Gezzer well done love your videos.
Very good teaching tool, thanks
Great result and would be nice to see her back on the road.
Finally a channel worth watching keep up the good work pal 😎
Great video fella! Really enjoy watching them 👌
Really glad you got involved
Lovely job, great commentary!
Love that you trust the uk weather enough to work outside! Lol
So important to change your cam belts every 50k to 60k. It will save you a hell of a lot of money in the long run. They can also check your pumps etc to see if they need changing at the same time.
Well done on the channel. Very informative
Keep it up
Great job mate. I wish I had your knowledge and tenacity. It will be a great vehicle for price.
Very inspiring work ! 👍
Excellent work! All these Videos on the Range Rover good viewing..
Range Rover, my dream car. That is why I watched your video, easy to follow and very interesting. I'm looking forward to seeing how you get on.
In my humble opinion the most beautiful Range Rover ever. I absolutely love the looks of it, inside and outside.
Yes and when they are not running they become a beautiful piece of "installation" artwork that can often sit on your driveway for years because a garage fix is fantasy money but they are "too nice to scrap". Its a flip car if you can get it running and a slow drip parts dismantle if you can't. Same story for any 10yr+ luxury car
The only saving grace of having a broken RR in your driveway is that you are saving hundreds of pounds in Road Tax and Fuel the longer it sits there !
Having to lift the cab off the chassis means that it's only those with ramps that can tackle these when they need a new gearbox or lump.
ONLY the British can do a RUclips Channel where the focus is actually on the cars ... well done & the accent is tops (kinda Del Boy meets Noel Fielding) ... Just Subscribed !
Informative video. Clearly this chap is a proper geezer.
Vishal Vora thank you
Am an amateur mechanic with great interest in rebuilds especially range rivers in Kenya, can't wait to see the rest of your videos, cheers matr
Best video yet ... great work
Lovely Jubbly, nice find, interior looks well looked after, along with the rest of the car.
That's cool you must be very talented, good work💪
Nice SUV save that engine it's worth it, that engine has a better chance than buying a used one that hasn't been serviced as well as that one. 💯💯💯💯🙋🙋🙋🙋 Nice project
I would fix the tensioner, replace cam belt and carrier bolts then check compression as a way of checking valves without taking head off but there will probably be some needing to be changed. 100% worth fixing - great buy.
Excellent video look forward to the next part
That dashboard panel tells more of a story than you can imagine. I had an ‘06 RRS HSE V8 (US) and the leather on both the dashboard and the steering wheel were split and stretching from the heat of it sitting outside. This has surely been a garage kept vehicle, from that & the paint alone, stunning!!!
joshxkerrigan were in the uk mate it’s never that hot lol
Definitely just the cam belt tensioner. Oil pump is driven by a chain off the crank. Looks like that has seized but should have need replaced when the cam belts were done.....
Well done mate great video keep us updated
Asaaand this is why you’re a good RUclipsr
Great video not in cars but very interesting well explained, even the old dear understand..
Good ahead big lad. You know what you are doing!!!!
Just found your channel! Love these cars and your simple no BS editing style is so easy to watch! Well done! Subbed from Australia.
ZED 🇦🇺 🤝 🇬🇧
Great video! I'd love a project like this. A seven year old kid dictates otherwise, so I'm stuck watching vids like this!
50k views, great progress keep going.. Wishing you the best.
Bloody hell most expensive shiny copper washers purchased
Nice purchase
Just shows if you look outside the copart website
Private bargains to be had
My recent 200 quid Laguna with a garage quote of 1600 quid to fix the handbrake was a wiring repair and codes cleared
Just full mot yesterday on the rank within the hour cash in hand with profit two hours later
New to the channel got to say its fantastic it's about time there is decent car stuff on here
I love your videos man keep them coming!!
Haha, I love to be this sort of man that can say.... "ill just buy a new engine, it's not big deal"... I just managed to cock up putting a new letter box on my front door.
Tommo1983ful best comment so far 😂😂😂 thank you for the support
I have the same model and it is so much fun driving it. I really love this giant SUV.
This definitely a great project for the channel ,and apart from the engine issue, very clean example of this type of car and year ,I'm sure you'll get it sorted no probs ,I've got a lot of faith in you already !!😀
ashley kipps 👌👍
There is a company in Essex that refurbs the 2.7 engine. From memory, about 1.5k all in.
Whats the name?
Great vid mate your very clever i wouldn't know where to start
Class motor 👍 Good luck with the rebuild
I don't care what anyone says, but this is one of my favorite Range Rover models and in prestige condition, you can't beat that!!
Really looking forward to the next video, I'm looking for my first range rover sport atm, and worried about all the problems that come with them around this age...
Great video mate you explain everything real well my dream jeep great videos
You and Eddie China would have went well together on wheeler dealer
brilliant video saving all of them as i learn
Hi love the videos, I’ve rebuilt my own sport which I brought with oil pump tensioner failure, it is so hard to take heads off with body in place it’s quicker and far easier to take the body off, the left hand bank exhaust manifold are so hard to get to with body in place
Brilliant guys well done
Rob, love the videos, no hype or rambling on, doing what I did 40 years ago, luvin it.
I like video very good on how to make decisions thank you
1 million views !! ... A milestone worth mentioning to the community.
Nice video, nice car , I own exact same model ,I am the second owner , car has covered 77.000km since new and no problems so far. Everbody else comments repair it flip it quickly , so on. My advice to you is to repair and drive the car, İt is one of the nicest suvs to drive, I hope you enjoj the experience .
I love rrs ,had one the same as that ,black hse, mine was faultless for the whole time I had it ,then got half my money I paid for it 5 years later ,iam lucky enough to still drive a rrs ,i now have 3rd generation autobiography dynamic, and never get bored driving it ,, think you got a bargain ,even if it needs another donkey,so good luck
Great video. Good honest graft. Cheers
Half the battle with working on new stuff is removing all the bits just to be able to see the engine. Looks like an interesting project. Look forward to watching the next video.
What a lovely motor be a real bargain if you can rebuild the engine best of luck will be watching rest of the progress
