After growing since the 70's I only fill my cups half way up when sprouting seeds. The seedlings tend to stretch when they grow and I like to give them some support by back filling the cup to the top as they stretch. You're welcome to ignore this suggestion - just sharing my experience.
This is the exact process I do
Same same. Must come with exp.
Agreed, you get a better root system
💯 after adding more soil, the stem will grow roots where it's below soil level.
Amen Alan ;)
I have so much respect for this channel. Not only do they provide an insane amount of information on (real) organic growing, but Jeremy ALWAYS puts in "disclaimers" that while they do provide these amazing products, you don't need them or can source locally. Such respect for the viewers & the planet.
That’s so beautiful. 🫠
Your videos are so good. I literally have a 10x10 grow room in the back of my house that I use for cannabis and food, backyard soil building projects, all the stuff, man... I don't think I could even imagine a better set up than yours to learn from. Thanks a lot for taking the time to make the videos!
I love starting seeds in the Solo party cups. Dont forget your holes at the bottom of the cup, and I add some perlite at the bottom before filling it with soil. Works best!!! Great video 💚Thank you Build A Soil team!💚
The perlite at the bottom is a great tip
you said in 3 lines all you need to know......this vid is just word salad....and by virtue of its nature is completely out of context for most rookie growers. and is just another tendril of profiteering weed geeks. its a weed.
I wanna say thank you for your knowledge. I’m finishing up a run in a 4x4 tent. I’m using build a soil products in earthboxes. I’ve never in my life seen feeder roots just exploding through the surface looking for more build a flower top dress kit 🤣. The koshi and gnarly barley are unreal with the amount of Mycelium growth!!! UNREAL!!! This is the first time I’ve not sprayed one thing the entire grow with no problems. I’ve added nematodes and rove Beatles to the pots at the first sign of fungus gnats and haven’t seen a dam one since. I’ve really worked on my environment this run. Keeping the vpd right has really let my plants show me what they can do. I’ve never in my 6 years of growing 3 of witch organic can say I’m so FUCKING HAPPY WITH THIS RUN 🔥 🔥 🔥 🔥. THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING!!!!!!!!!!!! Come on outdoor 2022!!!!!!!!!!!!
🤝🔥
That is a great feeling when you've passed you're own bar..nice to hear. I have a question for @buildasoil..is it expected to see fungus gnats in this line?or at least relatively common? If so, is this method of predator insects pretty much required to keep everything in check? I had an awful time w gnats with a bag of Stonington super soil variety..I was very frustrated trying to manage w sticky traps..but if in the boxes with shower cap covers, this is to be expected, and rove beatles, etc are the way to extinguish this as a regular course of action, even if you haven't seen any problems yet..I'd of course be fine w that outcome....I can listen to these videos all day,I never get bored, and hear a little gem I missed before..it's a little funny to me how you,Jeremy, just by making informative videos, and demonstrating your product line have made a new person ready to really try as organic as possible..and I very much respect the line I'm using, especially the owner..I feel like I'm cheating on them😉
@@rodneym7246 triple blend nematodes and rove Beatles for fungus gnat control is all I did for ion and I made it the whole way with no problems. 👍
@@dieseljunkie9951 how do u know how many to put.
Always an exciting day when you put seed to soil. Thanks for the insight. I'm excited to follow this grow with you.
So looking forward to the season. Just popped a few beans to grow along with the series. Let's get it 💪💪🔥🔥
So stoked for the coming season and the fact that you strive to share the details is incredible! Looking forward to starting my T&B kit soon!
I just received my BuildASoil No-Till Living Soil Bundle today and I found a 30 year old seed in an old jewelry box. Today is a good day
😎
Then my mom called me up about oh I don't know three or four years ago and I used to throw my seeds out my bedroom window Acacia everything just worked out just right she had some weed growing on this side of the house she was quite pissed
So excited for the new run. I learn something new every series 🙏❤️😀
As always a great video packed with knowledge and advice for all growers! Keep it up Jeremy and Gwen and company!!
Thank you so much for sharing your knowledge and in such a clear and entertaining way. These are my favourite grow videos ever, and I've seen a lot lol. Not many others have no much knowledge to share and on top of that don't typically give a such a detailed hands on view. Thanks so much!
Finally found one video that is easy to understand. Love the vibes in your comment section!
just found this page been growing no till here in the uk for a while now this page is gonna be a great help thanks for sharing.
Always enjoy watching Jeremy thanks.
I love this community jermery your Chanel has covered more knowledge on plants then any chanel ive watched yet seriously your soil is amazing plants are loving it thank u for all the time u spend on teaching others it really shows u have the passionand knowledge it takes to a successful grower thanks again
Is it bad I want an episode daily?Too much. Haha. Keep up the good work guys and gals.
Naw I'm wishing they all uploaded vids so we would have daily content
Was there a gal? I missed her I guess. Dang it! 🥺
Love what your doing thank you for all the knowledge and products you have available!
Getting into my 4th day of veg currently, had some issues on transplant with atmosphere and saw some slight stunting the past few days. Happy to be able to follow along with this series as it progresses! Love yalls products, love the methods and teaching, love the soil. Thanks Jeremy for something to continually look forward to!
Благодарю за вашу энергию, доброту и любовь к растениям! 🙏🤗
I am 65 and just started my plants. I am old school so I just bought two bags of soil from Walmart. One was a potting soil and the other miracle grow. Also added bag of worm castings. I use those small peat growing pods, soaked in water. Filled most of the hole in because they are too deep. Added my Apple Banana about 1/2 in. Both seedlings popped out . Like I said old school , The way my grandpa and grandma used to do. No need to get fancy for my first grow.
Robert, I hope you've found yourself a nice Indica to help you relax. Stay away from those Sativas, that's a young man's smoke!
How did that go for u? Miracle is way to hot for cannabis but I hope the best for u
@@joshuaspayd9370 it turned out ok. 3 oz. Potency was ok, just not as high as it should have been. I rushed the drying cycle. It was a good learning experience.
@doot pooter I'm 60 and sativa is my bag. I like to be creative not couch locked.
I heard a story from a friend that used miracle grow before and it ruined everything 😳😂
This guy seems very genuine and the type you'd want as a friend
Solid - this is the video on starting seeds that I was hoping for. You covered all the bases and then some, and I am so excited to get the ball rolling in my own mini-garden!
around 9 minutes in you were saying some stuff we all can use in life! Balance and really appreciate you taking the time and caring.cheers
Loyal to the soil !
Awesome I will use this method for my next seeds 😀 thank you all 😊
You’re so on point about everything in this video. I love gardening. Producing from scratch is so fulfilling
Other than the fact that direct dirt germination is the worst form of germination one can endeavor to perform. Also the fact that this guy slangs dirt for a living might make him biased.
@doot pooter I've done only direct soil germination every time I've grown and I have a 90% success rate. Idk how you can claim its the worst. Literally every plant in history has germinated that way. There's no paper towels in nature.
@@sonofjorel1000 Cool, now try 10,000 seeds at $10 each and let me know how many you're okay with losing.
Mate , I absolutely love your content. So much detail and so much passion ! Inspirational stuff. Many thanks. 🙏
Thank you for everything you do for the canna community and for all the education you provide us, much appreciated
Maaaan, I absolutely love your segments, the versatility from vegetables to cannabis is so cool
Keep it movin Bro 🙏🏽👊🏽❤️
Really enjoy all your videos and 10x10 series. Thanks for sharing your knowledge with us. I'm looking forward to receiving my order, keep up the good work.

this is the first video I watched from you guys and I applaud you. this is amazing content thorough and education. I learned about some new products here and more items to research. excited to see the rest of the content from you guys Thank you for the time and effort and being more than a 3-minute content creator.
Get ready to start bing watching like I have over the past month
I’m glad I found your channel I have been growing since 1967 I start it off with a seed I brought back from Thailand. Last year was the first time I’ve planted a seed in 20 years are usually clown. And I grew the seed in my greenhouse it was 100% sativa strain my friend produced 27 large canning jars of fantastic bud. I’ve been growing northern lights for years something about it just like. I’m planning some auto flower this year just to give it a try to break The monotony LOL. I liked your video looking forward to seeing more. I know the old saying You can teach an old dog new tricks. Peace be with you growing
newbie here..keep it comin...much appreciated..love bas...your creating an independant grower philosophy IS EVERYTHING...💪💪🔥🔥
Love y’all’s content. Thanks for everything y’all do!
Hope to come visit the farm someday
Love the BuildASoil way and the informative, helpful videos!
Dude you just made me smile talking about the solo cup method. Most humbling times of the learning process.
So excited to see the ONE grow and flower!
The way you explained things was precise and very informative. Awesome video and thanks for the pro advice
Keep the videos coming. Any time i run into a question on my grow i always go to your videos to see if you have gone over it yet. 10 out of 10 you have. i ordered my first earth box today and cant wait to start my next grow. Thanks.
Oh snap... Mr. Coot sent the seeds I needed to you. Wrapped in magazine paper - now that's magic.
Just got my auto pots and 3.0 soil just got my plants in today the soil is alil different then anything I have used so far glad to jump on the organic ride brother
Thanks this is fast becoming one of my favourite RUclips channels, love from Ireland.
Love all your videos thank you for all the knowledge and I just started my first run of all organic I bought a take and bake and seeing great results so far so today I just bought another take and bake and like 10 other things I am true believer in the buildasoil way. About to start my first eathbox also. I'm like a kid getting new toys can't wait to hand mix this next batch again.
THANKS for spread your experience MAN really appreciated!! AWESOME 🤙🤙
jeremy is a wealth of info, an awesome grower, but an underrated salesman! every time im all set for a run halfway through i have a list of things to try for next run lol no complaints yet, everything has worked👌
EVERY VID IVE WATCHED U MAKE,IVE LEARNED SOMETHING!u r a very knowledgeable man in this area, and I'd like to thank u.for sharing your knowledge, explaining in detail, and also why u use what u use when u use it.love your products.my lillys absolutely love your craft blend.please keep being u bro.world would b alot better place if everyone tried helping each other instead of looking after Numero uno.
When I popped seeds for the first time ever for this current grow, I followed along with the season 2 video where you germinated 6 seeds in soil. Had success with every one! Good to know about the BB+ for the next time!
Always cool! Thank you Jeremy!
Diggin the beard!
I just ordered a Gorilla 5 x 5 x7'11" because I saw them on your channel and you recommended them. Thanks so much!
I've got one - you're going to love it!
I love my gorilla, not a single issue yet in 3 years
@@Triangle0ffence3x I need a gorilla...all my tents had issues in the last 3yrs 😆 ×vivo ×greenfingers ×spiderfarmer.. should've known to pay up for quality frame, fabric, stitching work, and extra user friendly options ie extensions, ports, vents...shitty tents kinda let you know wether the breeder did any stress testing pretty quickly though, which can let ya know to look elsewhere
@@oztraliangrown8208 I honestly have owned them all because I didn’t wanna spend all the money on it. After doing so I can honestly say it was the tent I shoulda got from the jump. WAY better quality. I even have a ac infinity and it’s zipper is fkd and has light leaks,
@@Triangle0ffence3x budget is a factor we worry about too much when setting up our grow...most of us know that we doin this so we have consistent quality, without having to purchase from greedy fucks that have done unspeakable things to the plant.
We never gonna stop growin, so we should do our best to provide the best.
Thanks again HOMIE always appreciate your super knowledge
I’m pumped for this season!
Thanks as always. Love the show.
Subbed for the little monologue about mindset, independence, and self sustainability
Jeremy, brah you got some of the best advice, even on seed sowing! I've been gardening and NC Master gardener for 20+ years and the detail in which you explain things as you do simple common gardening techniques like seed sowing makes it easy to grow for even beginners. Plus the in-depth knowledge of organics and nutrients and the need for micronutrients is professor level. Are you self-taught with good books on your own or college studied permaculture? Good stuff, will share some of what I can contribute via your discord! Thanks and keep it up!
Proper nomenclature is a tough one. Phenotype is used to describe observable characteristics or the collective expression of the genotype. You could say we are hunting the phenotypic expressions of said variety. Cultivar is also misused, unless you are talking about a clone only plant! Thanks for all your hard work with these videos Jeremy!
Awesome as always! Thank you
This season is going to be a banger!! Been a bas customer since before kraft blend lol love being able to watch all the things I read about and learned on the forum's, but was too scared to buy and try them 🙌
I need my build a soil fix I have been setting up the hoop house for my cold weather vegetable and I seen you had a video uploaded and had to watch so much information 🙏🏻
Great info and vid! 💚💚
I’m a new follower but ole grower. Love the channel. It equates to all style of gardens. Great content!
Ty again for all you do! Taught me a lot!
I love the advice on a personal level
I LIVE FOR THIS!!!!
Love that clarification & actual meanings between "genotype" vs "phenotype" that simple explanation was super comprehendible but I'd love for you to talk about more. Maybe on a FAQ episode! Thanks lol
Great explanation of genotype and phenotype! I grow carnivorous plants and Cephalotus show massive variation in cultivation due to phenotypic expression, causing many an argument when discussing cultivar descriptions!
Have never grown a thing in my life but this is just awesome. I could watch for days. Lets see how long i can last until i start ordering stuff =D
💕✌🏼🤩 Niiice to see how it's done the right way, with tips on how to do it differently. Thanks so much.
Great video Great concert Great show ✌
Throwing this out there... Jeremy looks dapper with the beard! Keep on growing. Pun intended.
Thank you for making such a easy-to-understand difference between Geno hunting and pheno hunting.
I'm going to share this , as this term is way misused..
Thank you 😊

I know that this isn’t the season for this but I would really love to see your cloning process. A step by step until the clone is rooted using BAS products would be awesome to see.
Like always, great episode and thank you for all the great knowledge!
Cheers,
He has a video on cloning. I think it was last season
Check this out episode 12 from season 1 episode 17 also! Good luck ruclips.net/video/UtEWiAV6Yt0/видео.html
Bro I love your videos. So much great information. 👍
Fantastic. Always enjoy your Content. Discipline and Patience.
Great episode
Very helpful. Thank you.
Love your work, thank you!
Very thorough, thank you
You sir are a professional ! ❤
Awesome video thanks and keep them coming
You're the man Coot!
Yo man I gotta give you a shout out this whole grow Diaries is amazing keep up the awesome work, we love all the products you guys sell too!!!
You’re amazing ❤️✌️
Ayyy, nice to see some VA seeds growing this round. Excited to see how the beefcake d does. I think that skunkband v2 from them is calling my name.
Hey, your outlook on life is fantastic, you're heart lead by the sounds of it. I have only just come across your video/channel today, opening up and talking about how important it is to follow your heart and heal your mental and physical self is shining your light. Keep up the great work. Thanks for the Seed tips too, I have tried to germinate in both soil and Coco Coir. I find for me soil is slower, maybe that is due to the way I water? I have had less success with soil. Coco is currently at 100% germination.
Great content Jeremy as always
Thanks for the helpful episode! 👍
You.......are.........GOOooooddDD SIR!!! Perhaps even.... TOOoooo Good! Everything you said I understood very well and like how you offer both sides of the grow... naturally with some assistance or with ALL the helps. If its a seed... chances are, on this planet, under the right conditions, in the proper environment and correct circumstances .....IT'LL GROW !!!! thats what they do😁
Been waiting to pop my seeds too 💚
Can't wait to see how you get a cool dry when it's warm outside.
I've been working in a horticultural business over 20 years and a lot of the things that you buy you can make it at home like the wetting agent. All you need is a non-altra dishwasher liquid couple of drops and you good to go happy growing.
Good stuff
I wouldn’t use dish soap for food or weed
very excited to follow this grow!
Hey Dude, Just stumbled across your channel. Well done! I appreciate the knowledge based approach. Looking forward to viewing more of your library.
Ive learnt more binge watching these vids than i have after paying full attention in science class 🤣
Jeremey, first off fantastic video. I want to make a suggestion to get a cheap chapin sprayer, like 1 or 2 gallon for like 15-20 bucks, so it will get a gentler spray. I have one for just water for my seedlings. It might take a little longer to water the seedlings, but won't disturb the soil as much. Again, fantastic video. I love what you are doing. Once cannabis is legal in Idaho, I'm going full in and will be using your products. Until then, my food garden still appreciates your knowledge. Cheers
Another great show Jeremy..you should do a competition and release some of the amazing seeds you have in your collection while they’re still viable, would be a shame to see some of those go to waste. The video of your collection was mind blowing the variety of strains&cultivars you have acquired over the years..going to be a great season
New sub here ! Wow I really like this channel and the way you think and act. I am excited to be here. Thank you!!
Love the new season. Also the beard is looking great! Build A Beard
Thank you for the tip on dusting the seeds with Beauveria Bassiana. I've used BB successfully as a foliar spray. I'm definitely going to dust my next seeds.
Love the content as always. I've always germinated seeds directly into soil with just plain water, with a good success so far touch wood. Will definitely purchase some Q for this season. Thank you as always
