I absolutely love how you finished off that episode, I am now at that point of my life and am now teaching others to setup their grows! Thank you so much for all you do Jeremy your knowledge, and more importantly your wisdom, is highly valued to the community! Keep up the amazing job!
Awesome info. I'm growing autos in both Earth Boxes and 5 gallon containers using BAS products and I'm loving it. Organic is so much less hassle and is quite forgiving which is great for a knucklehead like me. Couldn't have gotten here without you. Learn something from every single video. Thank you, Jeremy!
@Cosmo S About to embark on the same journey. One question.....Do you pH the water you add to the reservoir of the earth box? Do you pH the water for the first top waterings? Same question for the 5 gallon containers. Do you need to adjust pH for those when watering both routinely and when top dressing? Thanks!
@Magic Synthetics are manageable, so their evils are subjective. Even a relatively small home hobby grow with soil, peat, coco-coir, etc.. grown entirely with synthetics, can be renewed with living soil methods. I personally grow syn'-'ganic.. meaning I use both methods/products.
@MagicHydroponics cannot use every organic product, and would you turn-down medicine if it wasn't totally organic !?!?!?!?!. An 100% organic option may-not always be available .
Gave away 24 clones this season, and I have eight more if they live (they are really small and I'm asking a lot from them). Having said, I'm supplying five outdoor growers with with plants, and supplying two people with cured product for medicinal use. One love!
I love my earthbox. Following Jeremy and the build a soil way has had my ladies looking so beautiful and healthy. Might be my best grow yet. All build a soil product and growing the build a soil way.... win win win win 🔥
I love the idea you had of side by side tests showing exactly what somebody can expect to see if they are overwatering and underwatering even when everything else is correct.
I liked the simple reasons why stuff works - backed by experienced growers. And I agree with sharing for those in need. You seemed more relaxed Jeremy, made it easier to watch.
This wealth of knowledge. It broke down a lot of what I've following just off the wonder staff always responding to my emails on the products. Now seeing Jeremy using the big 6 can't wait until tomorrow when mine gets here. Whoever built the chart for the different top dressing knows my anxiety 🙃 so SUPER THANKS.
Great content. Your ability to flow through information without many pauses and umms is impressive lol. I hope to move into a version of the build a soil way in my next grow. Keep it up man!
This dude is like having my favorite hippy uncle, living in the basement. It’s really incredible how much I take away and retain from these videos. Jeremy Silva is the best teacher. Build-a-soil is absolutely incredible.
My soil is about the same as what he’s making. I go to Florida in the winter end in Florida by Lake Placid There is a previous storage lake bed in the soil pitch black. They grill all kinds of different vegetables in this fantastic soil. I always bring back to large garbage bags full of this fantastic earth. And then I had my other ingredients. It has such earthy smell to it. I put them in large pans and put it in the oven at 2:25 for 30 minutes to kill any kind of bugs that might be in it. I’ve always been into heating my soil it’s a good policy to get into to avoid those nasty little critters that’ll fuck up a good crop
This is my first year of growing out of Autos. I’m growing them in my greenhouse. I have a 10‘ x 5‘ worm bed that is 24 inches deep. I have been producing worms for two years and the soil just smells great. I have planted eight different species and they are doing fantastic. I am sold on growing autos outside. I have 210 by tens in my basement that I’ve been growing out of for years. I have been growing cents 68 so I guess I’m an old timer lol. The old saying yes you can always learn something new no matter how long you been growing and that is true. I love yourself keep up the good work
Love as always Jeremy. Love following every episode learn so much. I would even say most things you talk about sound normal to me now. I dint have to pause and research everytime. Thank you as always
Jeremy the work you guys do at buildasoil is far more important than some would realize. There is a movement called #SaveSoil which im sure you may be interested in, as well as the entire buildasoil community. I beg everyone to please look into it. All across the world our soils are far to low in organic content, micro organisms, nutrients and so many of our insect species are becoming extinct. You of all people know the damage this can do and has done. I hope you and everyone in the comments sees this. Again pls look into it everyone. #SaveSoil love and peace ALL
Hi my name is Mike and I'm from Connecticut. I am a medical cannabis patient and I grow my own medicine. See I am a recovering addict and have been through some things when I was younger no child should. Well someone super close to me ("Family") passed away from cannabis laced with Fentanyl so I started growing my own medicine. This is when I came across your videos. I just wanna say thank you sooooo much. You have been 1 of the few that had been vital to my recovery. I've been clean 3.5years now and quit a whole bunch more bad habits since. I have turned a page in life and you inspired me to do something I'm extremely passionate about. Cuz of you I now to do my own youtube channel and teach local ppl how to grow and give recovering addicts like myself a healthy alternative/hobby to life by growing your own medicine, flowers, veggies, and more. Your absolutely inspirational 👏 and educational. Super entertaining as well. I to grow organic I use roots organics. Soon I would love to get the build a soil living soil kit. I'm hoping for my next run. I wanna do the eath box and keep reusing the soil in my 4x4x8. Sorry for long Comment. Just wanted to say man I love your channel and I'm hoping to meet you in real life one day man. I'm hoping I can inspire someone like you inspired me thank you bro. Okay well Bye. P.s I use to watch on my other account rosecitybullycamp you might have saw some comments under that name.
Absolutely love the content from you. Not only do you share all your info but you are super honest and break down everything to how you manage your grows. I just grew my first ever super living soil grow and its the best flower ive ever grown in over 12 years. You are an inspiration my friend!!!
Awesome!!! The garden is exploding, looks amazing. Love seeing the updates. I missed the drop on Sunday but glad I get to see it. Thanks so much for continuing to show the BAS process and being transparent. You guys are the best. Loyal to the soil

Man, I’m on my first LS/Earth Box run and things were going great until middle of this week. I have two Earth Boxes with 2 photos in each in a 4x4. Temps and humidity have been ideal. I sewed the seeds directly into the soil and sprayed the top of the soil regularly with RO water and Q until 12-13 days after planting. Then I filled the reservoir on both. Growth was going fine until Tuesday-Wednesday of this week (it’s currently Sunday). I noticed lower leaves started to yellow and the entire plant is curling in. The weird part is, it’s only happening to the plants in the back of each Earth Box. So in each EB you have one healthy-looking plant in the front and a curled, yellowing plant in the back. And I noticed the plants with issues seem like joysticks, meaning they almost topple over at the base of the stem, where it meets the soil. The only real issues I’m seeing in the front plants are too tightly packed nodes due to I believe too intense light, and some slight curling of some leaves. I personally believe I should’ve watered for the second time sooner, but I posted some pictures online and info and everyone is telling me they’re overwatered. So to recap, I planted the seeds about 26 days ago, filled the res for the first time about 13 days ago, the plants started showing issues about 4-5 days ago, and I filled the res for the second time 2 days ago. I personally believe I underwatered them and in turn, the ph has spiked. Does anyone have any feedback for me? Would it be possible to overwater the plants according to the schedule I mentioned above, or does it sound more like underwatering? Any help is appreciated.
Love these educational videos. This video made me realize/remember that my pots are probably too small. Also I've been digging up the top inch of my soil to top dress and mix it all in. I've noticed I'm sometimes coming into roots that have come up just under the surface so it seems I should just toss my top dressing on top and water it?
Hey Jeremy! I noticed that in season 3 you haven’t once mentioned or top dressed with Gnarly Barley. Gnar-Bar is also conspicuously missing from the BAS feeding schedule. What’s going on? Is Gnar-Bar still a staple or what? If so, where does it fit in the BAS schedule? Replaces the Pure Protein? Thanks man! ☮️💚🔥👊🏻
I noticed that it is missing as well. I simply add the label amount every time I top dress. They can no longer source the milled version, so you will need to grind it in a blender before using. I may be mistaken, but I think of it as a treat for the worms as well. Good luck with your garden.
1st time growing feminized seeds girl scout cookies and must say the strain is awesome as far as how its structured week 2 and they are small but bushing on thier own ,I just trained them to 1 side to get the lower branches more light but man very impresed ,thanks for all valuable info and taking us along as the plants age and grow
I'm quite jealous, I've never had an autoflower look like that even with the best of the best genetics but with your photo periods absolutely crushing it I'm convinced photos are still, generally a better option.
You are right, he is growing some awesome autos. I'm growing along in an EarthBox using the products listed on the schedule. My plants are some of the best I've grown. Good luck with your grow.
i only grow mosters.... please grow a monster next season... lets see what you got. i know you are all about craft small plant grows, but cmon everybody loves seeing a monster, plus lets see what your soil can do on a 7 footer :) ..... no more 1 week flip to flower, thats easy... veg for 9 weeks, grow a plant that heavy smokers cant get thru ;)
I'm curious to read why you do not use an irrometer as a tool to demonstrate your knowledge of watering. My belief is that it will help viewers correlate when and why to water based on your recommendations. Using one has definitely helped me. I'm also learning to use the measurements based on the time of the measurement; meaning, my reaction is different depending on the stage: early veg; full veg; early flower; late flower/ripening.
Would like so more deets on Big 6 sometime if you do a Q&A soon, interested in watering it in but I didn’t realize it was water soluble? Def needing to balance manganese
Thinking about running some build a soil next run. I did coco with GH nutes my first run, did pretty well. What kind of a yield decrease can I expect with the living soil method vs synthetic nutes and an inert medium? Also, if I were to get the build a soil 3.0, what kind of amendments/extra products would you recommend to really kill the grow in living soil? Thanks!
Can I use cow manure that has been composting for 2 years to top dress my autos? Could you do a short video about different animal manure and how to use it properly to grow good organic cannabis? Really love your channel!
Hey Jeremy I have a living soil container, no-till on its 9th cycle. Top dressing and water only. The water source is not from a RO system as of late, and noticing the ashes in the flower are darker. Anyway to correct that ? Thanks and much respect
Hey I have question. When I use normal organic soil and mix some dry amendments in like worm castings and other stuff, how do I know that the microbes are working and transforming fertilizer into nutrients? And where do the microbes come from? Thank you :)
I am just starting up a worm bin. Using coco coir as bedding. I have a bunch of old hops I don’t want to use for brewing anymore. Can I add some hop pellets to the worm bin? Or will these hop pellets be to much for the bin?
Hi. I was just wondering what to do with mulch layers of straw after harvest from a 30 gallon pot. Could you remove the the mulch or say cover it in a layer worm castings? Also wondering if you would just cover crop through the mulch of straw and top dress with dry amendments ready for your next plant?
Jeremy starting my earth 🌍 box when I start watering in the reservoir and it runs dry do I put dry days in between or just refill the reservoir as soon as it’s empty 🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️👽
Man I still have the dust batch and that stuff will kill anything even your worms…you have to mix with something then let it bloom then mix to soil but man does it work
Every so often I’ll slip something down the earthbox reservoir 😉 Insect frass ferment Power si Occasionally aloe Vera at the 1/4 tsp/gallon rate. That said I never go back to back in the reservoir with anything other than water only (eg insect frass ferment, water only, power si, water only, aloe, water only… and so on ☮️💚🔥👊🏻
If scrogs are used to train the plant to be wider, what do you do if you have a wide plant and want to encourage it to grow taller (or just contain the spread)?
I would like some advice. my soil takes me through two months of veg and probably deep into flower from seed. I want to do a top dressing for flower. (Dry Kelp flakes + Gypsum + Worm castings) Do u think this is a good mix for flower. And do I top dress when I flip? Or do I top-dress a week or two before I flip. And should one topdressing for flower be enough. Ill be adding microbes and molassas in between watering's as well. Or should I top dress again half way through flower. Just not sure if the kelp will break down fast enough. Thanks btw. (30l fabric pot) 1 plant, 2 month veg before flip
Great update thx! Question; regarding saponins/wetting agent I only have aloe vera via homegrown(mostly), but I know people switch to coconut during flower/cut aloe vera off. Is there any negative to using small amounts for saponin content, without overfeeding etc my girls in flower? Thx, happy growin!
You don't know how many times that the right video of yours has came up in the recommendations, right on time.

@@Kaws_One I have been doing earth boxes with autos and using BAS products and not pHing my water. No issues!
You can see the effects of love in the plant growth 😃

Just need love and it will show, organic knowledge will come in time. ✌🏼💚🙏🏼

What led grow lights are being used on the auto flower in the earthboxes?
What amino do you spray to help the overwatered plant recover quicker?
Man I still have the dust batch and that stuff will kill anything even your worms…you have to mix with something then let it bloom then mix to soil but man does it work
I have a lot of coconuts. can I use coconut water instead of regular water?
Using Aloe and Coconut with Earthbox, Top water only. use plain water for the reservoir, this will prevent gunk up. Per Build a Soil support.
Every so often I’ll slip something down the earthbox reservoir 😉
Insect frass ferment
Power si
Occasionally aloe Vera at the 1/4 tsp/gallon rate. That said I never go back to back in the reservoir with anything other than water only (eg insect frass ferment, water only, power si, water only, aloe, water only… and so on

What kind of clover is the cover crop or is it mustard
Great update thx! Question; regarding saponins/wetting agent I only have aloe vera via homegrown(mostly), but I know people switch to coconut during flower/cut aloe vera off. Is there any negative to using small amounts for saponin content, without overfeeding etc my girls in flower? Thx, happy growin!
How do you use home grown aloe vera? I have some plants but I can't find info on how to use it for plants. Any suggestions?
Did you say that the rootwise is used to remove Roundup?
